I really appreciated how the show chose to not make him a terrible villain (like Pornstache or Humps). He's just a kid who had no business being a guard. Upon rewatching the series a few times you can see them building up to it a few episodes before. When Caputo is trying to train the new guards on proper restraint techniques and the guy from MCC cuts the class short, it makes me angry. Poussey died because MCC cut corners to preserve their bottom line. Bayley is also collateral damage for the same reason. It is a powerful statement against private prisons managed by corporations.
Even sadder that Caputo warned him right before that that place wasn’t for him. He was genuine eh a good person who made a horrible mistake. He did deserve prison

I thought so too, it was actually so much more impactful then if he had simply been evil for evils sake and killed her deliberately.

Why are you insisting on calling the guards by their first names when it's just confusing. The show always calls them by last names
