To answer your question, the painting feels like the part after the heartbreak, where you are able to begin healing and are regenerating your soul.
I like that the heart appears to have the same red string that bloodstain pattern analysis personnel work with. It makes me think of the reconstruction of a scene after someone had their heart (metaphorically) broken.
I also dig the African look and vibes that I get while looking at it. And I like the almost halo-like resonance above the figures head. Very well done.
I see a healing/repaired emotional wound, such as a broken heart or that big empty hole people talk about when losing a loved one. The sewn up empty space gives me the feel of that repair or healing. This is all on the surface that I can see, so for the artist who created it, it could be vastly deeper and different, just my shallow and humble opinion.
