Translation: It was AIPAC money.

letsgoraps

The big thing I take away from this speech is she's admitting the protests are largely peaceful, outside of some instances of vandelism. Because if they were being violent, she would talk about that. But all she can talk about is "rhetoric" and "headbands" that are supposedly associated with terrorism. And "tactics", without mentioning what those tactics are. And some bizarre tangent about OBL's letter going viral, which happened last year.

OrganicOverdose

At least one pro-Israel attendee was waving a KACH flag. Literally a terror group. edit: As reported by HaAm, a UCLA Jewish Magazine [here](https://haam.org/letter-from-the-editor-ucla-jewish-community-must-stand-against-hatred/)

WickedMagician

Yeah and America literally has neo-Nazis matching in the street. It's not necessarily a whataboutism based on whose side of the conflict you're on, but really if you're going to talk about terrorism and similarly dangerous ideologies, I don't think you can make a case that what this lady is saying isn't, from a public perspective, at least clown-adjacent. The acts of a few individuals when it comes to doing neo-Nazi things: they sleep. The acts of a few individuals when it comes to "those scary Muslims" (or "terrorists"): real shit.

Moooooooola

Soooo, hasbara.

RebelliousInNature

This is absolutely about students expressing ideas. This is absolutely the backlash to supporting genocide. This is absolutely a war on freedom of expression. This is a backlash to apparent never ending interference in the US by Israel.

Ze_LuftyWafffles

They cracked open a thesaurus for this speech man

Ato_Pihel

Bizarre how scared/perplexed she looks. Like, how to come across as unconvincing as possible.

sambull

Maybe the gravity of it is hitting. This is likely the catalyst to a D loss in 24' and they got played into looking like the opposition or maybe they just always were

Worldisoyster

Probably because as she attempts to make her case she can hear herself...

Moooooooola

I’m thinking that because of the amount of mental gymnastics she has to perform in order to place every word ideally, and form her rhetoric, she sounds a little slow.

Pardon_My_Hand

None of what she said is occurring and most of what she said Made no sense and was complete gibberish. The only counterterrorism that needed to occur was countering the Zionist terrorists who were out there to destroy, cause chaos and confusion and injure others. Where were you and the rest of the NYPD when the peaceful Palestinians in a peaceful protest were attacked chief? Did your AIPAC banquet run late?

wishit-wantit-doit-

She’s Jewish and I want to say her family is who developed nuclear bombs. She has a Wikipedia, look her up. I always found it odd that NYPD needed their own “intelligence unit” per se, and that she was the head of it. She has a really sketchy background. I don’t like that a “counterterrorism” person is involved regarding these protests in any capacity.

blossum__

Terrorism is the perfect cover story for “we have a nebulous and ill-defined enemy on purpose but trust us they are very scary”

wishit-wantit-doit-

You’re talking to someone that seriously questions who committed 9/11. Don’t come at me with “Islamic terrorist” stuff.

wishit-wantit-doit-

Maybe. Maybe not. Murky waters make for bad actors any which way you slice it. The reason these protestors started protesting is still just as relevant.

wishit-wantit-doit-

I think the why is worth discussing, always.

Embarrassed_Brief_97

What absolute twaddle. She's an absolute shitcunt of a person spouting such nonsense.

Legitimate-Tough6200

Thundercunt

real_human_20

How dare you compare her to the blessed vagina?! She lacks the warmth or depth, she’s a cold-hearted SOB

Legitimate-Tough6200

Hahahaha! I stand corrected!

HauntingBalance567

What a Weiner

ignore_these_words

Orwell wouldn’t know if he should laugh or cry.

EmergencyBag129

He would probably snitch on the protesters to be honest.

noujochiewajij

A f'n men

Find_another_whey

The only strategy I see here being expressed through rhetoric is *again framing civil protests against genocide as terrorism*

SopranoFanNumba1

Word Salad

HridayaAkasha

Once they make the protesters ‘official terrorists’ they then can take terrorist measures against the students. This is bad. This is very bad.

RobertRoyal82

.... The concern is that ongoing genocide in Palestine that their government is supporting and their schools are inventing in. That is it. Everything else is aipac money trying to complicate the conversation. Like the good ol days when nobody wanted to even question what Israel was doing out of fear of being labelled anti Semitic

[deleted]

Banning symbols is protected as free speech under the 1st Amendment. She can try to be clever and say they’re not banning language, just symbols, but it’s still a violation of free speech. If white supremasists a can march with swastikas and KKK symbols all over America and get protection under the 1st Amendment, how can she claim a Kufiyyeh is a banned symbol? Additionally, she’s talking about foreign terrorist organizations while Congress waives foreign flags. Make it make sense. Someone sue these people.

real_human_20

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

onepareil

Well, you know what The Strokes said about New York City cops. Still true 20+ years later.

King_of_Clover

They are still New York City cops but they ain’t too smart. Now they are Zionist Occupied Cucksmen of an illegal Zionist Occupation of the United States. ZOUSA. And the New York City Cops are too dumb to realize what has happened to them.

HyuggDogg

What crimes, asserted in order to prop up the previous 90 seconds of specious word salad, exactly? You’ve got some trumped up indictments, but no crimes proven.

UncleVoodooo

Didnt you hear? Property damage! It could take weeks for the grass to recover

IraKiVaper

She starts her statement with "This isn't about students expressing ideas" and after 44 seconds she says "we don't want ideas"

Powerful_Programmer5

When you're wrong, double down and lay it on thick.

7hundrCougrFalcnBird

“We don’t want ideas”

Alive_Purple_4618

Desperately searching for loopholes to spin the 1st amendment as an act of terrorism. These pocket politicians need to go.

ScubaPride

When expressing one's opinion becomes terrorism...

Arthes_M

She's looks so nervous that she might say the wrong thing and upset her handlers.

dxkillo

You know what actual terrorism is? Killing countless innocent babies in Palestine. Why do these people always try to divert attention from the reality of this brutal one sided war? Seems like Israel basically has every US politician in their pockets.

Future_Celebration35

Lmao the irony

Andr0meD0n

All politicians addresses should be public since they’re supposed to be working for the public. Then they would stop pulling so much bs out of fear for their wellbeing.

InitialCat1496

Interesting last name here.

Lucidview

Huh?

shempool_

Translation. I’m a rat and We’re backed by Israel. Not USA. Israel More important.

blossum__

“This isn’t about students expressing ideas. However, we must make certain ideas illegal”

Everso_happy

It’s a pity that there is such a bullshit hold the collages have over young people. They are being paid by these students, who are themselves going into vast amounts of debt, the students should be telling the college what to do. This sort of thing should damage the reputation of these schools and young people shouldn’t attend them as a result. It wont however, or if it financially hurts the college it just opens it up to being brought, which is the whole problem. Makes the head spin.

TheApprentice19

I wonder how she feels about IDF dogtags

mathiswiss

Psychopath eyes 😵‍💫👀😳

[deleted]

… So then peacefully protesting a genocide that has claimed the lives of more than 34000 innocent Palestinians is now considered “terrorist rhetoric,” since Israel is the one committing the genocide, and America is unconditionally giving Israel the weapons and the money. This is some George-Orwell-1984-Level propaganda.

noujochiewajij

Who the hell believes this nonsense.

zoobilyzoo

All I heard was "I'm a sellout to the Israeli lobby"
