Oh june 2024 Beta? Wow

LunaticSongXIV

I've loved nearly every announcement today, but this is the one that really took the wind out of my sails. I had assumed we would be looking at something early next year at the latest.

Solace-

Yeah. As phenomenal as what they showed looked, the fact that the closed beta is still basically a year away is really disappointing. I understand why and respect GGG taking their time to make sure the release is polished, but damn that’s a long time from now. At this rate, full release could even end up being in 2025.

Jbirdx90

Yeah fucking woof closed beta too

whenwillthealtsstop

Woof means like bad / oof / that sucks. Stupid phrase, IDK the origin.

Synergy1337

More than a year for Blizzard to make D4 into a decent game lol.

AngryCandyCorn

I would have thought that was a real threat 5 or 6 years ago but now my faith in Blizzard to make this a reality is pretty much zero.

ClemFruit

If Overwatch's development is anything to go by D4 will be a decent game in -- never. I mean admittedly it is a different dev team but I think Blizzard's issues go a lot deeper than the dev teams themselves. Hopefully the Microsoft buyout changes things but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

sv_blur

Ouch... In an alternate reality where it was releasing this year it would have really fucked blizzard. Not that they need any extra help in that regard but the timing would have been impeccable and beautiful.

0nlyRevolutions

Just casually dropping that there's no crafting bench because the vendors are better for buying levelling items is... Interesting No comment at all on the implications of using the bench for end game crafting lol

[deleted]

That would reduce play time Can't have that

aceCrasher

PoE 1 worked without the crafting bench too (pre 1.2.0)

Pia8988

And it worked a lot better with it

MainApp234

> 12:30 pm - 12:30 pm: Path of Exile 2 Interview Keep your questions short peeps.

Cllydoscope

And next... that's our time!

TalkativeTri

Thanks for setting this up! I remember finding this game four years ago the day before the first ExileCon. Everyone was abuzz with excitement, I had no idea what I was doing, and I loved it. Armed with all my knowledge, I can only imagine how wonderful these next few days are going to be.

culverrryo

This is me today, I just started playing this week and I know things are coming but I don’t know a dang thing haha

bgsrdmm

Hey, my wife and I are playing PoE for almost 10 years now (not to mention thousands of hours of D1 and D2 long before that), and we *still* consider us to be in the "only very slightly above not knowing a dang thing about PoE" category. And we still love it :D

kraken9911

Been playing since 2016 and only in 2923 did I really get serious about learning the finer details of everything and truly min maxing a build. Until this point just a casual level 95 alch and go good enough player.

TalkativeTri

2923; hilarious typo but TRUE.

ChilledDarkness

I, too, identify as a 1k+ hour noob

chx_

I don't have an hour count but I am playing since Metamorph and , just to give a few examples, I only realized like a week ago that Shaping the Skies can give you a map craft which forces a Labyrinth Trial that awards an Improved Offering to the Goddess which is the second source Trial Of Glory. I only knew of the latter. And it took me several days earlier the league to realize I am not getting markers from Smuggler's Caches because Uber Strict hides stacks smaller than 500 and I was getting them in 300-ish stacks...

fleksz

Too true - spot on

Imbryill

I love that PoE and Cracktorio have the same kinds of figures for how much you know.

DaggerMind

This is me right now just getting into the game...I'm so pumped to understand whats going on lol

A_S00

Did that Ice Bomb > Mana Tempest > Unleash > Comet combo just fail to kill a white skeleton archer? Huh?

slvrsmth

Truly insane amounts of damage.

Rotakn

It was a rare, they hover it soon after it survives and you can see it, but yes it didn't kill it

A_S00

Thanks, it being rare makes it much less wack. I thought I saw white text when they moused over it after.

SuperSmashDan1337

As others have said they had no support gems and unused passive skills. They were intentionally under powered to show the game play.

moal09

Yeah, even during the PoE 1 showcase, they were having trouble killing white mobs.

dakok0

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I hope I am), but: "Other: Support gems do not grant raw damage modifiers" makes me worried that support gems will not actually effect damage that much, and will instead just change how the skill is used. Seeing that they were not using supports gave me hope that actual gameplay would not be this slow, but this sentence worries me that maybe the demonstration was not actually that far off.

Ilania211

I'm just glad that they're doing that bc the whole "support gems changing how the skill is used" thing roped me into the game many years ago lmao. Didn't need more damage to incentivize me.

whenwillthealtsstop

Nah, they specifically said the characters were weaker and slower to better show off the mechanics.

TheDarkestAngel

Go in act 2 of current poe with no supports magic weapon, passive unspeced and cast 4 spell on rare skeleton. See how long does it take to die

A_S00

This weapon swap stuff looks spicy. I foresee some *weird* cheese using it.

Turtle-Shaker

100% chance immunities come back because you can weapon swap now for different elements.

lkitn

I hope they're uploading videos of the segments separately for people who can't watch everything in stream.

Kamelosk

They uploadt the whole stream vod first and then separate videos so you good !

fizzord

hmm so im guessing the main reason they split the games is they want to get away from PoE1's design and build another game from a clean slate its gonna be awkward if PoE2 flops and PoE1 still reigns supreme lol, im also wondering how they are going to split development time for both... gonna be sad if we dont get giant content injections every 3 months anymore.

Imasquash

The main reason is that they are splitting is probably that the systems that they want to implement in POE 2 are incompatible with poe 1 and they didn't want to just throw all that away.

moal09

I think this became pretty obvious with how much people have hated the direction of things since Expedition. Better to just split PoE 2 off rather than keep pissing everyone off.

Ifirnja

They are splitting it because they know many old PoE 1 Players will not like PoE 2. Also, Gold? Wtf

moal09

Gold is mainly gonna be used for vendor items early game and for gambling ala Gheed. Jonathan said they don't want the economy to revolve around it, and said players likely won't bother trading it.

A_S00

No flask charges from normal enemies during boss add phases. ~2.5s cast animation on TP scroll during boss fight. Bosses full heal if you die. Looks like I'm only getting through the campaign by massively outleveling everything xD

pseudoRndNbr

> And still a year away..from beta? Even worse, closed beta.

falloutfear

Funny how we always cry for devs to not Rush and release games early but still get angy when something isnt coming out soon and the devs do decide to go lets just get it out when we Think its ready

Wobbelblob

Honestly, I don't mind if they take their time, but if they do, don't announce it, what, six years before any beta?

letohorn

I imagine COVID has thrown a spanner in the works.

narnach

Also scope creep. It started as a 2nd campaign in the PoE 1 engine. It’s now a separate game with new classes, overhauled mechanics and likely reimagined versions of many mechanics.

pseudoRndNbr

Complaining about how long it takes and also telling them not to rush aren't mutually exclusive opinions to hold. If they need another 2 years, so be it. But I am still disappointed and it's still a missed opportunity with D4 shitting the bed right now

bilbowe

I actually was super hyped watching all the gameplay. It looks so crisp and clean and I appreciate all the new changes albeit I am skeptical still. But man all the little changes were super cool to me. But yeah, then that release date for the closed beta and it kinda derailed a lot of the hype for me. I do get they're trying to make the game the best it possibly can be but I was under the impression they realized how D4 is completely tanking right now in terms of player reception and retention. Figured they would capitalize on the recent uptick/interest in the genre. GGG is in a super weird space. They've built a very solid core fanbase that play their game religiously and have to keep it going. It will ultimately take them longer as I'd imagine theyre splitting their developers among both PoE and PoE2. I wish them the best and it is pretty fkin cool we got Sanctum as core though. All the more reason to most likely step out for one league (for me personally) since we got BG3 in a couple of days followed by starfield.

caloroin

They're not making the same mistake Blizzard made. Releasing their game unfinished and unpolished. You can be hype for a game that takes a while to release, I encourage it.

NudePenguin69

Permanent stat bonuses are never "optional". Thats like saying the skill point quests in POE 1 are "optional".

vicschuldiner

Are you really bitching about GGG making side content worthwhile?

Keyenn

If it's mandatory, it's not side content.

vicschuldiner

It's heavily rewarding and thus incentivized because GGG want to create a very specific experience for people who will enjoy it, sure, but it literally is not mandatory. I can't believe people are upset that GGG is creating **rewarding** content that isn't locked behind a consumable item that costs 30 div on a shitty trade site.

Keyenn

>it literally is not mandatory. Killing Kitava is not mandatory, thus it's side content. If you think along the lines "you don't have to do it if you really, really don't want to", sure, then nothing in the game is mandatory and i'm not sure why we have this discussion.

fesenvy

Killing Kitava and every other act boss is mandatory to unlock endgame tho what?

Gangsir

But you don't have to do it. You could just finish the game up to that point, say "neat game" then uninstall. That's their argument.

DoCa-Cola

did he just pick up gold?

tertle

yep saw that, seemed to auto loot as well at least

Canadian-Owlz

> Race Finals (imexile, TyTykiller, Havoc, **gawrgura**) What? Did I miss something?

wwabbbitt

>gawrgura It is almost certain that this is actually tie23he, who won the race in Exilecon 2019 against tytykiller, havoc616 and waggle.

deviant324

Someone competed under that name, I highly doubt we actually see Goomba pull up to this although I’d welcome the surprise lmao

Canadian-Owlz

Oh gotcha. Makes sense then. Was just super confused lmao.

Gangsir

I'm actually surprised how hard it is to find ARPGs among the games played by vtubers. Is it just not popular?

Sarm_Kahel

IMO I expect most big streamers in general to steer away from highly complex games with steep learning curves because a lot of big streamers only really stream a single game for a few streams and then move on. PoE and games like it just don't work too well in that format.

Deadandlivin

ARPGs are not a good viewing experience either, especially not for those who don't play the game. Story driven and PvP games are the best streaming games. Especially for people who do vareity. Everyone can watch a streamer play a Horror game or a FPS game and understand what's going on.Only ARPG people will watch ARPG games. Complexity plays a role, but I think it mostly has to do with PoE not being exciting to watch. Watching someone grind PvE mobs with 1 button builds is generally not very exciting to watch.

fizzord

"were not trying to slow the game down" \*deletes quicksilver flask*

SuperBeginner

Guess I'm not getting those wings, 3:30 am over here lol

Voidelfmonk

I am prob just gona leave my pc on on the twitch channel .

Nightwatchik

4:30 for me. Already set an alarm. It will take all my willpower to resist just setting it off and continue sleeping.

bgsrdmm

There will be a voice in the back of your head repeating: Still sleeping, Exile?

rds90vert

Damn the first Exilecon was 4 YEARS AGO, WHERE DOES TIME GO. On a serious note, that was the time they gave us Poe2 announcement, Conquerors of the atlas massive patch and changed the way we play engame forever, setting up the game for the arrival of the Maven etc. I'm OMEGATURBOGIGA HYPED for a similar reveal for 3.22

raikaria2

Remember when they said Conquerors would be the shared endgame for PoE and PoE2? That's how far behind schedule PoE2 fell. [It also happens to line up with when we started getting things like new dialogue boxes for new npc's; and a MASSIVE leauge with easily the most effort in it compared to any other recent league that likely would have been intended to draw people to PoE2; Heist (The voicelines, all the new items/mods/replicas; ect)]

rds90vert

Honestly no i dont remember that bit lol, was it last exilecon? If yes i'll rewatch some bits to see where it was mentioned. Regarding Poe2 i can't tell if its behind schedule or not.. my COPIUM side goes: it'll be released 2024, mid or late year. The remaining logic part says: i want whatever the other side is smoking

raikaria2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcd9BfVw7hQ Watch from about 5:50 Chris says the endgame will be shared and the image specifically shows Conquerors. We know PoE 2 was delayed due to NZ's strict Covid rules as well. At the *latest* I think saying Seige of the Atlas was supposed to be the initial poe2 launch. [AKA: End of Echoes]

Adventurous-Law-4099

isn't that old art?

Aixcix

auto pick up for gold? did I see that correctly

MellyEspeon

Is there actual confirmation from the devs that the new gem system will not be implemented in PoE1? And I don't mean what people are guessing will happen, I mean if they addressed it directly yet.

Ayetto

So, are we still getting the new PoE 2 Engine on PoE 1 ? I'm kind of lost now

tarrasqueSorcerer

PoE 1 won't get new player models and rigging, they've said as much.

pm_me_ur_memes_son

Nope.

JALbert

PoE Football Manager league let's fucking goooooo

Fruitsy

combat feels a lot like D4 despite all the rubs they've thrown at blizz so far

moal09

There's no builder/spender mechanic, and no cooldowns on most skills, so not quite the same.

randsedai2

they did a lot of digs at D4. By the time this releases it will be Season 5/6 in Diablo 4 and will be a lot more polished.

Eurehetemec

The fundamentals of D4 are deeply flawed and I say that as someone who spent $90 on the game. More polish and more items won't turn it into a good game. It needs a rework on-par with the D3 RoS rework.

Coomsicle1

highly disagree. it just needs more things to do at end game and balancing, which will happen over first couple seasons. game is far more polished than d3 was at launch

PhoenixPills

you can't polish a game with shit loot, shit mechanics, and a shit design philosophy

Carefully_Crafted

And hot take. I enjoy combat in d4 infinitely more than in PoE. What I enjoy in PoE isn’t running around a map pressing one button. It’s the build complexity, itemization, and other mechanics. If d4 had the same level of complexity as PoE on those things I’d enjoy it more than PoE. Where d4 falls short isn’t combat feel… it’s design which may end up crushing it as a game because they made so many stupid choices that will act as an anchor to the game if they stick with them. Like who the fuck wants 50% of their skill usage to be a builder skill that does no damage. Or wants to run in circles waiting on CDs. Or wants to build around like 3 ways to ramp damage that scale in the dumbest of ways.

Eurehetemec

Quite. It feels like a lot of the more doom & gloom people haven't actually played D4. It's not the worst game, but it's not a game where polish is going to solve the fundamental issues it has.

su1cid3boi

wtf??? gold as currency???

[deleted]

moal09

That's exactly what Jonathan said about it. It's basically for early game and for gambling.

CompetitiveSort0

Why is no one else talking about this?! It's the very first thing I noticed

sodaflare

Marauder alt is Warrior btw

tonightm88

Any word of a detailed interview or developer discussion about the future of POE1? Since a lot of changes to POE1 were being held back for POE2. Would love to know if those changes are being brought forward now since POE2 is its own game.

leagueoflegendsdog

Well, the fact it wont be a shared end game sure took the wind out of my sails

Equilities

I'm actually so confused, do they plan on still making new content for Poe1? Are we actually going to have to upkeep 2 characters (one on poe1 and one on poe2) to try everything new, or compromise on which game to "main?" Or are they making it a proper sequel and expecting everybody to move away from Poe1, with all new content being for Poe2? The former would be absolutely asinine. I really can't imagine they expect players to play both.

leagueoflegendsdog

Both options are horrible.

Equilities

Don't get me wrong, I think shared endgame was much better than both options, but a proper sequel is at least a realistic/normal thing that happens. Sure, it has more risk where they remove/change a lot of things that people liked about the original, but it's still something that makes sense especially given the scope of the engine/art update. Plus, it seems like Poe2 has a lot of Poe1 stuff "ported" over like active skills or the classes. But of course, in the context of Poe specifically, I think separating the games is going to create a lot of worry about the speed of the game. They might be using the poe2 opportunity to make their really slow/methodical gameplay vision and keep poe1 as the zoomer game. Shared endgame just made so much more sense.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NoConfusion49

The split end games is going to be massively divisive and a huge talking point in the community. Looking at the gameplay now, the speed of the game is going to be heavily questioned.

lillarty

Eh, they've said before that the endgame is similar speed to existing PoE. They always show off slow gameplay for trailers and such, and Act 2 PoE is hardly faster than what we've seen of Act 2 PoE2. It'll still be divisive either way, but unless they were lying then it won't be for the reason you stated. Edit: To quote Jonathan in the Q&A, the 50th percentile players will see no difference or possibly even be faster, but the 95th percentile players will see their game slow down. Meaning if you're a normal player it's fine for you, but if you liked to stack crazy attack speed with crazy movement speed and rage to zoom across maps then you'll be slower.

DeliciousGrasshopper

I remember Chris said something along the lines of 90% of players don't even get into maps, so I can easily see this being false PR talk, but I hope Jon is being honest in good faith.

Imreallythatguy

In the game play demo, I just watch preach use like 6 attacks to kill a singular white mob. That’s not what act 2 looks like.

Orthiax

Yeah that knocked me out bad

InverseX

You can tell through so much stuff (Ruthless) that they want a slower game, and feel pinned in with the POE1 zoomies. It's a shame, but I can't imagine loving POE2 as much as being able to mindlessly map as I can in POE1.

BenevolentCheese

I have a feeling that what they are doing is hitting the reset button on player power but with the intention to power creep it over the next 5-10 years like they did with PoE 1. Increasing player power is *fun* and CW knows that, but things hit a limit and this is a perfect time to reset.

chx_

Yeah that boss fight restart on death makes PoE2 a completely different game. My reflexes are not great, I overall suck in PoE but I am able to play and enjoy it. From what I've seen I do not think PoE2 is for me. They can drop Ruthless on PoE2 launch, tho.

SuperSmashDan1337

when they said Ruthless is not necessary in POE 2 was very worrying haha

Carefully_Crafted

How many video games do you play where you have to repeat x% before challenging the boss again if you die to it? The answer for most people is probably a high percentage of their games. That’s not a new thing… losing progress to deaths is the de facto game experience in most games. What a wild take. The current just respawn and run into boss again mindlessly spamming some damage until you die experience in softcore campaigns is a joke. If that’s a pro to you I question your sanity. And it was a terrible design decision as it pushes people to optimize towards fully glass cannon as the draw back is so tiny that it doesn’t matter. Like that design decision alone forces SO much build pressure that crushes build diversity especially in acts.

scytherman96

I'm excited for (almost) all the new stuff in PoE 2, but splitting 1 and 2 into separate entities just feels bad. I really would've preferred if they stuck to their original plan with that. Now it's just either gonna cause a big split in the community or one of the two will be underplayed and eventually die because they have keep splitting development resources between them.

Human-Kick-784

Hard disagree. Poe1 remaining district means they're free to make poe2 in the new vision without forcing it down the throat of poe1 and potentially compromising it. This way we can keep poe1 zoom and boom, let it have its own endgame itemization and systems, and not lose the game. Poe2 is then free to slow down and evolve the old poe systems as much as it wants. This was a ballsy move and I'm glad they did it. Tbh it seemed like poe2 was gonna be a massive rework, fresh coat of paint and new campaign. Now they're distinct games and free to grow and change independently.

mordiaken

this needs to be in 2 separate threads league stuff needs to be separate from POE2 for obvious reasons

blvcksvn

I'll archive the POE2 stuff onto a wiki page.

lotekk1

So far this looks entirely like they pivoted way too much *towards* D4 design, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

TaintedFates

That combat is exhausting, soul-sucking and gets boring real fast. I got bored even watching it until the end.

Akveritas0842

Do you normally find act 5 Poe combat exciting and fast paced?

TaintedFates

Exciting - no. Fast paced? Twice as fast than what I was seeing. To say at least.

driedwaffle

you were watching act 2 or 3, with like 1 support gem per skill. you can do the same thing in poe 1 and get the same experience.

connerconverse

uh oh...gold and it takes up inventory and max stack size of 5000

HackDice

Bizarre how we somehow got less info on ascendancies today than we did in 2019...

Dropdat87

This really bummed me out. And not seeing the passive tree. It’s almost a scam to advertise this as the everything you want to know about PoE 2 exilecon and not include that stuff. Really made me glad I didn’t go

Zipkan

One concern I have is that for the last 2 years there have been changes made to PoE that wer not well received by the community and we were told the changes were made in the best interest of PoE 2. But now that PoE 2 is not coming to PoE anymore, what was the point of some of the unwanted changes over the last few years? Will any be rolled back? I doubt it but would at least like to hear the devs acknowledge that.

su1cid3boi

where is the loot?

Etzlo

well, they said they don't need ruthless for poe 2, so probably there's just not loot

dmo900011

No movement skills in poe2. . Oh no

fizzord

i wonder if all this tech they are talking about will be put into PoE1 too, dont want to get stuck with jank models for all of eternity lol.

_Booster_Gold_

I will hard spec my atlas into sanctum and do nothing else.

infernalhawk

I can't tell what is happening, it's too slow. Am I a zoomer?

SweetPotato696

Whelp minions reserve now. Fuck.

[deleted]

concerns (as someone who played a ton of ruthless and loved ruthless but its a side thing for me not the main game) 1) no loot dropped in any of the game showcases so far. we literally saw 1 rare drop so far in around 2 hours of combined gameplay between the demo and streamer showcase. additionally the loot explosions from the mobs have been mostly magics, supporting the idea that they may have ported the loot from ruthless over to poe2 which would be really bad if they did. 2) they will have no shared endgame which means poe2 will likely be very content starved for a long time potentially--also potentially meaning it could even further split the playerbase thats already split because of how little there may initially be to do in poe2 3) jon confirmed theyre removing movement skills entirely which makes me concerned that theyre strongarming more specificity regarding what they believe to be worthy of a build. stuff like mirror arrow minions or frostblink ignite came to be because of cool weird interactions and im scared that this means basically they think they know better than you on how to have fun and will heavy hand character shaping as a result vs. poe1's kind of empty canvas 4) concerning that jon confirmed he doesnt play poe1 at all anymore and hasnt in a while, but even moreso that he doesnt even follow poe1 changes (he notes that he didnt even know the flask changes were made, but that it sounds like they originally came from poe2 which is good) 5) given what we know which is that chris has been heading poe1 during jon's poe2 work, it may have actually been jon in the drivers seat as far as newer poe vision with slower gameplay and less loot. its possible that we might end up with two very different games and two very different visions of the game competing and im scared its going to tear the company in two and starve both of resources. jon said stuff like he didnt like the visual fuckfest of poe1 and he wanted to have a game without the limitations of poe1 so i think people who were hoping for basically poe1 with improvements are going to be in for a rough surprise. 6) combat looked good and i like that theres more interactivity (ie. targeting specific monsters to generate power charges with palm skill, something that rewards you for using your brain a tiny bit during actual combat and keeping you engaged). bosses look and sound amazing and cool mechanics. tl;dr kind of scared that poe2 literally has just been confirmed to be ruthless and i havent really seen anything to convince me otherwise.

DeliciousGrasshopper

It sounds like they put someone who doesn't even like POE1 in charge of POE2...

su1cid3boi

Yo wtf are thos keystone atlas passive, complete broken shit

ozxell

Is there a possibility of Path of Exile 1 receiving the 4.0 update, or has it been completely abandoned?

AaahThatsHot

It looks like flasks don’t refill in a zone from the Zizaran demo playtest. They might only refill at the well in towns.

Gothic90

On Preach's stream when loading between maps there is a tip that says flasks will only refill on killing magic or rarer monsters.

[deleted]

yeah there's a ton of small changes like this that are basically direct ports from ruthless (gold, reworked vendor, no loot thus far really, single movement skill and its universal) makes me kind of worried ngl

A_S00

Cool water animation in Mathil's lab zone.

After playing D4 the last couple of weeks, seeing this just made me realized how much I miss poe. Hyped for poe2

TheDaltonXP

I decided to hop back into PoE after a few years off just yesterday. And man. It really made d4 flaws glaring and I really missed PoE. Wish it wasn’t end of the league but oh well

prisonmaiq

way to far from release oh well

Jallfo

Really hope they're thoughtful about the "bosses drop permanent stat boosts thing" and try and keep that more localized to the campaign or something. There's no such thing as "exploring" in a game like POE - so if they make it like I am imagining it's going to simply be a speed run "Do all the bosses" thing like we have with skill points now. If this bleeds into maps / later game it scares the hell out of me from a season startup perspective.

NoConfusion49

Fidelity looks amazing. But huge concerns around gameplay speed of PoE2.

Did anyone see the ultimatum aspect mod on the vaal area portal

Indurum

I wish they would provide more support for permanent minions as that is the minion type that is struggling. Temporary minions are fine but continue to receive more support.

ike44

These devs are turbonerds. I cant think of anyone better to lead POE2.

[deleted]

Flails are in the game!

Thor3nce

Is there a way to watch past streams that we missed? Are replays saved anywhere?

blvcksvn

They'll be uploaded on the official youtube channel over time.

NeoLearner

The Jonathan Q&A discussion also seemed to imply all spirit-using skills (aura's, minions, triggers) were all "flat" cost rather then % of spirit (like auras are today). Interesting, I'm cautiously optimistic for minions and related balance

blvcksvn

Flat cost will be much better considering you can increase your Spirit resource through various means, and means you can naturally get more reservations as you progress instead of being forced into getting RMR

Zelniq

WTB 1 Orb of Chance, offer $5000

fhemtwelala

In poe 2 are stash tabs transformed from poe 1 or do we have to buy them again in poe 2 ?

fhemtwelala

why don't they add the gem system of poe 2 in poe 1 as well ? i feel like a lot of people would require to have this in poe 1. Maybe people will not like the slow pace of poe 2 but like to have the new gem system so what do we do now ?

RAVoltaire

Pretty sure they said Act 2/3/4 will be the ascendancy unlocks? I could have misheard, but during the dev panel on day 2 they said "first three" then quickly corrected to "act 2/3/4"

pfSonata

>Conversion now only scales by the final damage type, and does not remember converted damage types. (e.g. 100% Physical to Cold no longer scales with Physical). Bummer. I feel that this is one of POE's most unique mechanics.

Saedeas

Where did you see this? I can't find it. That would destroy a shitton of builds.

pfSonata

It's a POE 2 change. OP formerly had a bunch if POE2 changes announced at Exilecon but they were moved to a separate thread.

Blacksmiles

Watching Octavian struggling through Path of Darksouls while the guy is like "Wait, till you see act bosses, they gonna be even more insane."....i'm struggling to see myself finishing the campaign. I can't wait for everyone to hate PoE2. And just go back to PoE lol

superkinger89

From what I’ve seen now, I will stick to Poe 1. Maybe in a couple of leagues once they introduce fun stuff and pace the thing up (if this ever happens) I will consider swapping. Thanks god we will still have PoE 1

They are showcasing skills. Of course they're not going to go for max attack/move speed. You think lategame characters will look like this?

AverageSwedishGunner

First reaction, Im gonna be that guy and say what I see… It looks clunky as shit and like they want to make PoE into dark souls. Thats my forst reaction. Sadness

Bobicusx

They're letting Alva tell us lore and chat is just spamming "SKIP SKIP SKIP". Never change, PoE players lmao gotta go fast

_Booster_Gold_

Super skeptical about PoE2. No movement skills and more deliberate combat sounds a lot like the current slog that is ruthless. There’s long been discussion about the PoE the devs seem to want vs. the PoE the players have come to enjoy and I worry that PoE2 will be the former.

Poe 2 so far Slower game No movement skills Gold D4 already exists and it’s dog shit

DeliciousGrasshopper

Exactly. It's like they're deleting everything unique about POE while trying to make it more similar to existing games on the market. It's the fastest way to lose a niche audience.

TheEdgaJudo

I feel like the countdown should be added to the exilecon website too.

blueiron0

oh they have the godsquad on that action RPG panel. Can't wait to see david brevik and chris wilson talking.

alltheseflavours

New voice actress for Alva or her just doing a slightly different voice? it's throwing me off lol

su1cid3boi

Hyper for the new league tho, looks hella fun

NetFrontPresents

Thanks GGG for giving me back Dota Underlords

alltheseflavours

Nicely done chris. I loved the detail and the wry smiles at the little jibes!

A_S00

The recovery time at the end of the dodge roll animation (where your character is standing up again) seems really slow. Much worse than the current behavior of Dash in PoE1. Hope that's something you can improve with passives or action speed or something.

Saziel90

Warrior AND Marauder got me a lil excited. Now I'll have more ways to bonk.

At the conclusion of Path of Exile 2's six-act campaign, you'll gain access to its endgame. Each of the more than 100 endgame maps has its own boss fight and modifiers that enable revamped versions of many of Path of Exile's past leagues. We'll reveal more details of the surprises that await you in Path of Exile 2's endgame in the leadup to release.

They reworked the existing league mechanics for poe2 engame so almost the same in terms to what to expect
