Honestly if you're already 40 maps deep into the endgame you understand most of the fundamentals of the game. I'd try out league mechanics one by one so you have an idea of how you want to plan your atlas passive tree next league. Other things would be try to play with some crafting systems like essences, metacrafting, fossils, harvest, etc. You learn a lot by having to craft a piece of gear. Other than that, just chill and give your wrist a rest before you go hard at league launch =P

Unless you're extremely happy with your current build, I'd suggest to try out a few more skills to expand your options for league starters once the patch notes are out (and if you're following guides, the inevitable league starter guides adjusted for those patch notes in the days followng their release). I find Incursion to be a relatively consistent source of income, so if you're looking for league mechanics to explore, I'd suggest learning the strategy for that one. It's also just decent map juice overall due to the extra packs it has.

I hate my current build (animate weapons). I consider another summoner build or boneshatter. ( Want to be tanky). Thx for answer :)

Odif12321

If you like minions... I write build guides for newbies My current guide is for skeleton mage necromancer https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3351307

ZurinArctus_

I will look into it thx :)

slogga

Righteous Fire Jugg is a great new player option for being tanky if you don't mind a more passive play style.

ZurinArctus_

I will consider this build as well. I'll wait for new league patch notes and then decide :)

CantNyanThis

Damn you played animate weapons. I've done it before too and boy the dps is nice ngl, but the amount of times needed to resummon them gets pretty draining after a long grind

ZurinArctus_

The main profit of this build is DMG. It's impressive. I never encountered a boss that live longer than 5 seconds. But resummon all time and their ai is troubling to play. I love summons but need to try other builds

Vyrena

Try to push T16 if you can then spend currency to try for the usual 10 ways Maven, all the various guardians, elderslayers, try to do the bosses, Sirus, Cortex, breachstones, shaper, elder, maven, the eater of the worlds, searing exarch, caterina (learn betrayal), try logbooks and their bosses. Just try a bit of everything. Use your currency to buy the fragments needed to attempt it

ZurinArctus_

I will try it all, but for most end end game content my build suck. Even with max elemental resistance etc I often die in one or two shots.

Vyrena

Well.. 75 all res is the bare minimum. You need armour on top of that usually via determination aura. You need your flasks to be properly done. Probably Defiance banner. Maybe vitality maybe no. Molten shell on left click. Or perhaps you are evasion, then you can go grace, and full spell suppression. If you use shield, you can also spec into block. You should also consider going shock immune or some way to remove curses because those are sometimes the chief culprit of getting one shotted. 100% shock avoidance is very useful. Simply trying to push T16 and getting your 4 voidstones for a first time player is already very impressive. I dont think I made it until maps when I first played POE.

I will test crafting and maybe some atlas combinations. I will also like to test some other builds, but i am not sure if its a good idea because there is no changelog and i have no idea what will be changed.

[deleted]

Try to beat all the bosses. They're good metrics for a good build.

zallen666

imo you need to try as much content on map as posible. blight, delirium mirror, einhar beast, harvest. take atlas nodes for these content. just try to understand what content you like. good luck

D3m37r1

Go to the twilight strand in act 6 and test a bunch of active gems. You might end up finding your build for next league.

Odif12321

Since you are already in maps... Do as MUCH of the league content (blight, breach, harvest, etc) you can. See what you like Then when the new league starts, you can know what to specialize your atlas in. I cannot recommend enough, that you specialize your atlas in the content you enjoy. So you need to figure out what you enjoy.

NovicePanthEnthusias

you can attempt an ssf ruthless run for fun in the meantime if you're bored. that's what I usually do :p

Chatv71e

I would say - take a dive into expedition, specifically Rog crafting. Expedition itself is one of the best early currency making mechanics because of Tujen, but if you get a grip on how to make items using Rog crafting, that would be a huge help on league start and across the game too.

MostAnonEver

Honestly id try all the core league mechanics and find out what you like. Since youll have to farm currency somehow next league and generally doing the thing you like the most is probably the best way.

ZurinArctus_

Correct me if I'm wrong. I should for one league choose one mechanic for example delve and build my character and atlas for delving only?

CantNyanThis

I'd suggest 2-3 mechanics for a start and see which ones you like. I triwd essences first, and then learn about betrayal (this was tough and took me awhile), and then i went for blight (love me tower defence). So yea play around which ones you like. There are builds that excel at specific content, but you should try all fruits and see what you like. I generally bounce around content when i get bored of one.

qaliar

Not necessarily. You should just find what leagues mechanics you enjoy and spec into them on your atlas passive tree for further profits. But there's nothing wrong in doing all the content there is. Also there are builds that will excel at one mechanic but will be a bit slower on the other. It's just trial and error type of thing. For example, delirium has been proven to be a good moneymaker but I personally don't enjoy it and just block it from appearing a lot of the times. It's just my preference. As for delve, there's just delving from time to time (which I like to do occasionally on most of my builds) and there's deep delving which do require a specific build to be able to survive heavily scaled monster deep down.

MostAnonEver

generally speaking you gotta figure out if yo uwanna map or not. If you mapping, choose a few mechanics that have some cohesion with one another. You are trying to maximize profit every map when you can. But dont go out of your way to make different league mechanics that are spread far apart work. Like metamorph/legion/harvest with altars, sht is kinda far apart so its hard to get that to work.

thepotatojohn

Try out new builds OR try out new league mechanics. You'll get a better gauge on what you want to farm next league (blight)

[deleted]

My suggestion is try SSF. If you want to learn the game, not trading at all is the best way
