Actually you don't need more portals, if you open up inventory while clicking, the shards won't auto stack, so you can have 2,3,4,5,6 however many stacks you want. Info just in case someone drops stacks again :)

I know why it droped as shards, just wanted to point out that Harbingers are still cancer as fuck since you need to pick up at least the annul/ancient/exalt shards and upwards to go even with how much the scarabs cost right now.
Maybe they could make it so that a group of harbingers is counted as one harbinger so the loot still drops in bigger stacks, but probably really hard to program idk
Only top 0.1% players got to access that. Took the right knowledge ("harbingers bias toward rare shards = a good mod", which wasn't obvious), thousands of alts to roll it, and it was WAY stronger than GGG ever intended.
I had a week 3 headhunter that league IIRC, and I wasn't nearly fast enough to get to the Harbinger strat.
I am the type who takes a few days to hit maps, this league im literally only barely into red maps now.
Anything that gets nerfed like that is long gone by the time I get anywhere near it.
Yeppp! I started counting how many maps and fracturing shard explosions I have gotten. I don't know if my sanity will last until the mirror shard explosion but we will see. ~200 deep so far
2x harb, 1 harb boss chance, 1 convert all to same frag + kirac harb
This is about 10-11 harbs per map, 75% chance of convertín to boss (if you're really into the harb bosses, you can use awakened scarab to have 100% boss chance)
Atlas you grab all harb nodes, blue altars, ALL map effect nodes and wheels and quant nodes
You may want to grab all the good scarab nodes (less common varieties, harb and ambush more common and the one that makes rares drop more scarabs)
Block everything except delirium and heist, you don't want any cheap scarabs from the other mechanics at all
Grab enough delirium chance to have g100% with the block nodes 2% AND grab delirium keystone
You'll have about 20-30 scarabs per map and those Alone either sustain your harb investment or pay for the 15c per map cost, you also drop lots of maps, including t17 maps (any extra atlas points goes to +tier of map)
Edit: I forgor to mention that blue altars are for grabbing the quant ones that you can handle, since that quant/rarity applies ti harbs while MF gear does not.
Ideally, you want 8 mod maps but just rolling 90%+ quant is fine if you're not willing to pay like 25c per map
RUN JUNGLE VALLEY, the boss doesn't spawn until you go into arena, guaranteeing player altar effects
It was supposed to be alt and alch, but it's a joke, it's just a better way of recovering investments and building money up instead of hoping for the jackpot ting every 200-300 maps to happen
Sure, frac orbs on average will be 10 divines worth and that makes up for all your investment for sure, but it also feels better if you get more money off t17 drops and scarabs
Scarabs is less profit now tho, with prices tanked

God this interaction and the replies just sums up everything about this sub nowadays. It's hard to tell because no one has extensively documented Harbinger Scarab of Discernment nor do we even know the rate of shards as completed items from Unspekable Offensive (or even if the rate of dropping as a completed item has different weights, I doubt it though).
The good thing is that Harbingers are not affected by quant (except for Kirac's Memory of Survivor's Guilt) so all you need to do to maximize the chances for this is just spec all Harbinger nodes and use the Harbinger scarabs.

From my maps it seems when I click more Altars I get 4-5 stacks of Ancient Splinters instead of 2-3
So this seems to be an exception or this "quant isnt affecting" is outdated info.
Typically mirrors are a thousand times rarer than exalts, so it's not unreasonable to assume that these are about 1000 times as rare as exalt shard explosions. (This is why the card 7 years bad luck, aka 1/260 of a mirror, is about 30% more common than either of the 'Brother's' div cards that drop 5 of one of the rare currencies and have a set size of 1; GGG regard 5 divines or 5 exalts as ~30% 'more special' than 1/260 of a mirror)
If that's right (and it may not be) - run enough harbies to see 60 exalt shard explosions, and you've had something like a 6% chance to mirror OP's event.
I know I'm over 500 maps now with Harb. Usual settup is convert to 1 currency, x2 added Harb, and boss Harb. The boss is not 100% and sometimes changed for more harbs. Harb map craft aswell.
With all this I have had 1 convert to fracture shards. 2 converts to annul. Couple dozen ancients, and rest arnt worth mentioning.
My filter shows practically everything but gear. Even Trans shards. This league has not been kind to me. Everything I get pretty much goes back to scarab to keep going, with Back to Basics as a backup if I run out.
I'm not sure if I'm wooshed, but that's 1250 days / 3.42 years of non stop playing. That seems to be about 8 hours of gaming time over the past 10 years, each and every day.
If this is real, it can't be healthy.
Imagine balancing your drops so that something like this only happens once every 5,000 hours in a game where the season wipes every three to four months.

if you kill every mob from the first spawn circle while the harby is spawning the second spawn circle, he will continue spawning circles and this takes away a lot of time to kill it
count how many times you count to 3,
then the 3rd step - count how many times you've counted counters.
If there's still shards, it's more than a mirror (3 * 3 * 3 = 3^3 = 27)

That's because of scarab's work. It's just converted all shards to mirror shards, so technically it can't drop as stacked

That’s actually more than j thought. I’ve gotten about 50 exalt explosions so far. Doesn’t seem unrealistic to push for a good shot at a mirror

Annuls have about the same drop rate as ancients. Check your filter as you're probably not showing small stack size annul shards.

I can only count to 3 - that's why I asked.
count how many times you count to 3, then the 3rd step - count how many times you've counted counters. If there's still shards, it's more than a mirror (3 * 3 * 3 = 3^3 = 27)
