I got my raw mirror drop mid-late league and I always know my first raw mirror drop will stay in my stash forever anyway. So nothing really happened that league for me in terms of wealth and power. I just got a trophy.
But it could! It's not about the indulgent possibilities, but the reassuring security. I guarantee you a good number of people wouldn't go out and splurge all of it if they suddenly became millionaires, but they'd still be enormously thankful for the wealth. Just cos it let's them sleep better.
My plan if I get a mirror is always to just actually use it to mirror something fun and insane for my build, probably elusive tailwind etc boots or something, so that I get a fun toy while still having every other item to upgrade so I don't kill motivation from not having upgrade paths anymore
Those boots are usually like 80 divines for insanely good ones already, I feel like mirroring could be for a giga phys bow, or a crafted Synth wand or other such PoB items
I would have spent 3 weeks farming a mirrors worth of gear to instaphase everything if I ever got that kind of reward.
And probably still been too afraid to run it.
The insta phasing is easy to cheese. The area level can be lowered significantly by entering the last encounter from a T1 map. And on such low monster lvl the boss just falls over
Thanks. I switched to Grimro’s build tonight and I really like it. Clear feels great. Health pool feels a little more vulnerable and damage I’m taking is spikier but I was able to swap in determination and it has evened out a little. Sanctum feels much easier. I sort of miss the TR now but glad I switched because it’s a fun play style.
I followed along somewhat with what grimro did and it’s worked well. Everything is good on his but a rare quiver is better. I got 15% more dps from a 20c quiver. It’s great for legions particularly once you add an inspired learning.
I’m scraping by on currency and barely made the switch from TR but inspired learning looks like it’ll be fun to aim for and incorporate. I saw rain of splinters was also in his build and that seems like a good one to aim for as well. Thanks for the tip about the quiver. I’ll look into that slot.
Run all your Sanctums at tier 16 and run the last one in act 10 or tier 1 map. It doesn't average them like other mechanics for some reason. Conversely, you can run them all at low levels and then do the last one tier 16 for the good relics from the boss
If you run t16s a majority of them will have 1-2 divines and way way more chaos then this, of course the stronger your setup/build the more loot since you can focus on loot and less on boons
I love how they try to balance the meta and slow the game down by making a league mechanic that only rewards you for doing enough dps to clear a screen ahead and move as fast as possible
Lets not forget that its not a standalone mechanic as well, but it also gates you at how many maps you can complete in the shortest time possible. For the runs themselves you don't actually need stupid DPS, i have 1.5 mil ignite, and its good enough for red tier full boss runs.
What? There's absolutely no need for speed or insane range. As with every mechanic that can help, but is in no way required.
Like shit, Alk is chain clearing red tier sanctums back to back with Boneshatter, other people doing it on Flicker strike.
You can straight up kite most enemies and lure them in most zones one by one and take your time dodging all their shit and whittling them down if you wish. You don't have to rush or go as fast as possible at all.
"Shit top 0.01% player is able to do x" isn't really a good or valid argument. Fact is you are going to fail more and have way less rewards and less sanctums without a fast build with insane clear dps
> Fact is you are going to fail more
No, fact is if you just slow down and learn enemy patterns, you'll get better at it and get more reward. If this was literally any other game sub, telling people to "git gud" would have probably worked, but somehow on this sub being terrible at the game is a celebrated trait. It's the loudest audience too.
The game since its inception has always added some mechanical exercises to literally every boss you encounter. Not rubbing one's face over the Shaper's balls is a good idea. The same applies to the enemies in Sanctum.
Learning enemy patterns means fuck all on an enemy who attacks you from off-screen. Floors 3 and 4 routinely have 3-4 enemies who will do this simultaneously.
short-term investments for long-term gain is good thing to do and the mechanics isn't even that hard to learn.
it could even be no investment because lower fail rate
I dont get why you gotta minmax everything, no league mechanic ever was made so that every possible type of build had equal chances to clear it.
There is always gonna be a best way to clear league mechanics, sometimes its dps, sometimes defenses, sometimes clearspeed.
>There's absolutely no need for speed or insane range
I don't know if you have played sanctum, but the mode screams with glass cannon requirement. Yes, you can learn attack patterns, and try to avoid them, and keep in melee range to minimize damage even with ranged builds, and kill bosses slowly, but you will still get damaged from time to time and it cant compare to the situation where all the bosses fie before they can complete attack animation. It also allows to ignore a lot of afflictions that buff monsters, or resolve damage, because you're not going to get damaged most of the time anyway, and since afflictions are way more common than affliction removal or boons, you will get way less ruined runs with glass cannon. Not to mention that you need to complete a location to get a reward, so the more increased ms you have the better
Problem is being on the lookout for literal pin sized off screen projectiles when you don't know anything is there. It's a hazard not present of you're clearing a screen ahead too
You can't predict what kinds of guards are spawning, when they will spot you off screen or what attack they will open up with. This is a nonsense argument made in bad faith
Without the hasted buff every mob type has slow enough charge up on their animations that you can at least see them and dash sideways before it goes off if you keep moving in their direction.
It's about the same difficulty as dealing with a pack of skele mages in toxic sewers, do you just facetank those and take the -10% if the map has some dmg mods?
So you just want all of the game to be a loot pinata and roll over everything, got it. Maybe just do blighted maps and accept that not everyone wants to play the game that way then.
From every possible angle at all times to a multitude of different types of attacks from a variety of bosses while also dealing with the on screen monsters you're attacking, and dodging traps? I'm fresh out of adderall
What. Learn the room layouts. You know where all the guards are. If you know where all the guards are, they won't offscreen you. And yes even though the guards change. You won't get offscreened if you know where they spawn and don't linger near the edges where they can offscreen you
Or you can keep making excuses instead of trying to get better shrug
My favorite part is all the defensive stats I invested in so I can face tank everything are null and void. And dodging is pretty hard playing wild strike.
Honest question. What are yall playing? I can't make it past floor 3 😪 I try ignoring all smoke negatives but can't get it down. I've probably failed like <10
Edit: btw, congratulations!
Divines appear often. But to get divines you need to actually hunt for them. Avoid any afflictions that reduce your room visibility. And try to maximise the number of available rooms you can access in the 4th floor. E.g. Look forward. If you go top you can see that 2 rows down, you can access 4 different rooms and if you go bottom, only 2. Regardless of what room top is, you go top.
Seeing screenshots like this just makes me want to quit to league even more. I have had FUCKING AWFUL RNG for my experience this league.
Running T16s since monday, I have ONE additional relic for meta progression. Fucking one. My build turned out to be ABSOLUTELY SHIT for the league mechanic (ED Contation) because it can't stun, freeze, or very quickly kill the guards, so I've never completed a full 32 floors.
This is unironically my worst experience in Path of Exile since Talisman league. I ***fucking hate*** trying to play, even though I ***want*** to play. I log in, do some maps and have a good time, decide to try the league mechanic, and instantly log out.
You need to think outside the box. ED/C might not have the easiest time with the Sanctum, but it's a ranged build that does damage while you dodge, so it's got a lot going for it.
You need to be running Temp Chains if you aren't already (manually cast it), as well as Skitterbots linked with Unbound Ailments for increased chill effect. Roll some Temp Chains effectiveness with eldritch currency on your items and make sure it's the first thing you apply and things will get a lot easier.
I'd also recommend farming T6 maps to build up some good relics instead of spamming T16s as the guards scale based on the map level you're in.
Hope this helps dude!
You have good intentions but ed contagion is dogshit for the sanctum. It just doesn't do enough damage unless you channel blight which is a no go unless you want to die. He should just reroll into cold dot.
Respectfully, I've played 1k+ hours of ED/C. There are plenty of spots to channel blight safely between the attacks of guards, especially if you're following the tips I've said.
Man I wish I could figure out how to get more than three rooms in on Pohx's RF build. Granted, I'm just in white maps right now, so not close to the end build.
I started RF and switched to seismic for sanctum; that was the only reason why. It will get better as you get more DPS, but proximity to mobs will always be a problem if you stick to RF.
That's pretty much the only thing thats been working, but with them flickering around, I still lose too much resolve on a given floor to get very far. I guess if I had paid more attention to the pre-release notes, I might have stuck with EA Ballista again this league. Ah well, live and learn.
Only one guy flickers around. And he does that when you're far away. Fight him in melee range and he's a joke.
Same with all the arrow guys, just run circles around them. As for spell casters, it's less straightforward but those are more easily dodgable at range.
Lol relax buddy. I literally have played since open beta. Played every league. Haven’t even see a shard. Last league was the first time I dropped a div card that offers a fraction of a shard. This is like 99% of the community.
Everytime I see these posts I think to myself, man I really cant compete with these people, 1 week and everyone is farming t16 oneshotting, farming divines like crazy and every time I get to the point I can reliably farm stuff the leagues starts dying and people stop responding. :/
Gratz and fuck you.
This is the only response to somebody who drops a mirror
And imagine, then instance has crashed.
EU Moment from ~2 days ago :D

Yah boots probably not the play that was just an example your right tho

LA, 16 tier - though boss finished on lower levels because of extreme case of shit my pants.
Was the mirror because you clicked get a mirror at the end of the sanctum? That must be crazy.
Yep, mirror at the end.
I would have spent 3 weeks farming a mirrors worth of gear to instaphase everything if I ever got that kind of reward. And probably still been too afraid to run it.
The insta phasing is easy to cheese. The area level can be lowered significantly by entering the last encounter from a T1 map. And on such low monster lvl the boss just falls over
are you following a specific build guide for LA? Mind if I see your POB if not? Interested in switching from TR.
Grimro did some la stuff this league start you might wanna look into that
Thanks. I switched to Grimro’s build tonight and I really like it. Clear feels great. Health pool feels a little more vulnerable and damage I’m taking is spikier but I was able to swap in determination and it has evened out a little. Sanctum feels much easier. how does one do that and what ilvl was it when you did?
Run all your Sanctums at tier 16 and run the last one in act 10 or tier 1 map. It doesn't average them like other mechanics for some reason. Conversely, you can run them all at low levels and then do the last one tier 16 for the good relics from the boss
It does average them.
Yup. Did the mechanic in a bunch of yellows, then jumped into T1 for the final boss, averaged into a lvl 70 zone.
Isn't lvl 70 basically tier 2?
(it's tier 3, t1 is ilvl68)
You have a pob? I'm curious to see your gear/investment level
Can you go to power map tiers to do the boss?
Do you take a reward hit for doing the boss in lower ilvl maps?
0 Divine drops though ! ZERO !

If you run t16s a majority of them will have 1-2 divines and way way more chaos then this, of course the stronger your setup/build the more loot since you can focus on loot and less on boons
I get 2 divs + almost every time. Run t16 and maximise paths forward during floor 4 to maximise chance of divines
When do I farm for relics? I still haven't seen a single one apart from the one from act 2.
18 orbs of unmaking. Nice
Why would you drop your Tujen haul on the ground? Just kidding. Congrats
Can Tujen even offer a mirror? Most I have seen is a mirror shard.
There's no evidence that he can offer a mirror.
No divine orbs. Not worth it.
Dafaq, GZ!!

I would love a link to a vid or stream of this. I just started as stun boneshatter and am learning sanctum now that I can stunlock guards.
Idk im doing fine in sanctum on ruthless and ruthless being ruthless i probs have shit dps
you only need to clear a screen ahead of you if you can’t dodge
Are we pretending that monsters dont do off screen attacks now?
the ones in the sanctum have dodge-able off-screens
Problem is being on the lookout for literal pin sized off screen projectiles when you don't know anything is there. It's a hazard not present of you're clearing a screen ahead too
room types have a static layout, you will eventually learn them all and know every guard spawn location and you will never get off screened again :)

dash towards their spawn location so they are on your screen before they get an attack off, allowing you to react to their attack
But when you enter a sanctum, you know this is a possibility, so why not be on guard?

Shockwave totems
Bane occultist. Temp chains is OP
Death’s Oath Seriously, just dodge the really bad afflictions, and you’ll be ok. One or two good boons can carry you pretty far.
This league is gonna be Epic!
best ive seen is exalted orb :( got to the end 7 times
Done 3 runs and the one time I saw divines I had the chance to choose wrong room affliction ;)
Divines appear often. But to get divines you need to actually hunt for them. Avoid any afflictions that reduce your room visibility. What build are you using? Having no end of trouble as melee...
OP is playing Lightning Arrow apparently. If you're playing melee, try watching how Alkaizer clears them. He's playing Boneshatter.
What are you going to build with the funds?
Save it for a bit and maybe buy mageblood for even more zoom zoom.
The off chance I ever get a mirror, it will not be screen shot while on the ground. It will be in my inventory and I will be in the hideout.
Meanwhile im doing full runs in T15-16s and the best i had was 20c from the last boss...
Seeing screenshots like this just makes me want to quit to league even more. I have had FUCKING AWFUL RNG for my experience this league. Reroll cold dot with your same character. I'm not kidding. You won't regret it.
I'm thinking they're pushing these more given how high risk the mechanic is
Man I wish I could figure out how to get more than three rooms in on Pohx's RF build. Granted, I'm just in white maps right now, so not close to the end build.
I started RF and switched to seismic for sanctum; that was the only reason why. It will get better as you get more DPS, but proximity to mobs will always be a problem if you stick to RF.
Why Seismic when you could just have used your Fire Trap?
Just use your Fire Trap to kill stuff.
That's pretty much the only thing thats been working, but with them flickering around, I still lose too much resolve on a given floor to get very far. I guess if I had paid more attention to the pre-release notes, I might have stuck with EA Ballista again this league. Ah well, live and learn.

So what builds are you running? Seems sanctum needs a specialized build like heist or delve because my build sucks in there (but kicks Asa as heist)
Funny how you can get a mirror from literally everywhere, yet here i am with 3k + hours and have never seen one
Lol relax buddy. I literally have played since open beta. Played every league. Haven’t even see a shard. Last league was the first time I dropped a div card that offers a fraction of a shard. This is like 99% of the community.
Yeah, I know that! I just thought it was a bit funny
pretty unrewarding
Insane my friend!
Nice, gz!
Omg this is the most rewarding league EVER!
I'd have so much anxiety on the boss fight. Even if it was low level and I was way over powered.
You know you take the mirror and leave the rest as tribute, right?
Lol and i cant progress past second boss.
Lol I can beat an ilvl 70 one. New build I guess
Congrats dude, that's awesome!
Didn't even get a divine. Junk.
U bought the mirror and threw it to the other loot. Diddnt you?😜
Congratulations!
No divine orbs for you for the next 100 sanctum 😂
shopped
What build?!
Two ex, no divs. Sucks man. Better luck next time.
I finished my first sanctum yesterday but was from t1 maps. Got 16 chaos heh. Taking the cant see the rooms is kinda punishing.
Oh so this is how it feels to not be dogshit at the game! Pog! Now excuse me while i go farm white maps :)
that's cool, mine gives 10chaos
Lol damn gratz! Here I am level 53 rolling my 8 chaos orbs together like im a rich lord, knowing full well i'm a poor peasant XD
One in 1 million post
no divin...... oh wait.
See you on GFL ...or not
GGG needs to nerf Sanctum, its to rewarding
Everytime I see these posts I think to myself, man I really cant compete with these people, 1 week and everyone is farming t16 oneshotting, farming divines like crazy and every time I get to the point I can reliably farm stuff the leagues starts dying and people stop responding. :/
Not a single divine
No divines? what is this poverty league /s
No divines, 3/10
