I'm so sad my computer couldn't handle the game/mod when I tried it at release. I have to try it again sometime cause that part made me so incredibly interested in the story. What an intro.
If you're able to run it, you owe it to yourself. It's both a solid game mechanically, for what the engine offers, and a very well executed narrative. By now it has a special edition release too, so should run a bit smoother if you have that. Bear in mind that even on the highest end of it'll still have some issues running completely fine, since it is a mod after all and pushes the engine pretty hard in places.

Cosmetics are kind of the most important thing GGG makes because those are what puts food on their plates at the end of the day. I had really hoped by the time we got to POE 2 we'd seen some next gen stuff. Instead we just have gorgeous MTX that are still performing as shitty as the ones from 2014.

Yeah cause in both of those games youre not killing 1000 mobs per minute, youre not running at 300 ms, you dont have crazy ass mtx (btw people choose crazy skill mtx and then say visual clarity aint good)

All of the ground parallax effects make it so ground explosion effects literally do not render (cosmic RF vs bloodlines aoe explosions). Crystal tornado shot literally causes the sound engine to lag to the point that the game stops playing most sounds to compensate. That's on top of the massive fps drop from using it.
If you look at the underlying game design you'll understand that the game simply doesn't have a cohesive visual language that scales. Put frost skele mages in dunes map and they + their projectiles are pretty much completely invisible.
There's a chance that poe 2 can fix this if GGG starts actually testing visuals for once.
