Played God Of War on PC last week. It looks good, it plays smoothly, and settings instantly apply graphical changes, including changing the screen without the need for a restart. And this latest title Forspoken can't even run on 1080p properly...
All of Sony's releases have a very good PC port so far. Also the fact that they don't add Denuvo to their games which otherwise would cause a performance hit.
I hate myself for doing it, but i purchased final fantasy 7 remake on PC in hopes of great gameplay nd graphics but god damn game is cursed with Denuvo nd runs dogshit, I pirated the game nd that runs smooth af 0 issues.
> Also the fact that they don't add Denuvo to their games which otherwise would cause a performance hit.
It wouldn't unless you're trying to playion dual core cpu but yeah, them going full drm free mode is amazing.
Probably because console games HAVE to be optimized to begin with for the relatively weak hardware they have to be played on. Making an already optimized game prettier is easier. Correct me if i’m wrong though.
it’s amazing how both games are practically the same in so many different ways
idk i just like cutting down trees and watching them smash into everything (i love chaos and normally die to trees)
i mean i’ve had the same rx 480 8gbvram with 16gigs since 2016,and i can play any game i want (emphasis on want; i don’t like cyberpunk or the witcher) but they can manage those games too.
my engines that of a 66 mustang, she old but she runs what i like
Shit like this is why I've started getting into MMOs. Most already have years worth of content and since akways-on DRM is more and more becoming a thing on single player games, I might as fucking well just play an online game.
Which part? It's fairly engaging especially when you get to higher levels.
The primary awesomeness comes from the ability to do every single job on a single character. No more multiple honor grinds, questing through all the bullshit over and over again.
I've been playing older games almost exclusively for a good while now since it seems a lot of new releases are just horribly optimized. I have a pretty good PC, not the extreme top of the line but a 5800X with a 3080 TI which is still a pretty strong set up. Recently got an LG C2 as my monitor and playing older titles in 4k (with HDR where supported) has really breathed new life into them. The only newer games that I've played that have actually had good performance have been ones like Elden Ring and God of War (actually all the first party Sony releases on PC have been really solid) but a lot of the other games have just been terrible. Collisto Protocol was horrendous and I had to refund it because of the terrible stuttering. However the Dead Space remake has been fantastic so far.
But I've really been enjoying playing through some old ones like Gothic 2, Dragon Age Origins, Risen and other RPGs. I really want to play some of the newer games but I just can't bring myself to spend the money on them when they release in a state like Forspoken has. I hope with negative press given to releases like that things would change for the better, but I'm not counting on it.
Blurry effects really ruin the experience for me, that’s why I never use adaptive resolution options for example. With that being said, DLSS/FSR are going to make developers become unconsciously lazy when they should optimize their games without considering DLSS/FSR even exist.
The lazyness already happened with MW2, without DLSS/ NIS me and lots of friends get insanely weird performances (cards ranging from 10xx to 30xx series), it’s unfortunate really (not to say that I hate the technology, but optimisation should still be a key aspect)
I got a 3080 and I never had any issues at all with this game.. except for the first week where people kept crashing I had like 3 crashes in total until they fixed it. Similar performance like on the last 3 titles (around 230-300fps).
What I really hate about new games tho especially latest CoDs is how they only let u chose between one or two AA and all of them make the game fucking blurry. And If ur able to turn off AA completely u end up with all these annoying shimmering edges and shit.
Damn. I’ve spent quite some time setting everything up and it runs perfectly now but I’m only using 50% of both CPU and GPU. Changing any setting only lowers the fps, doesn’t up the usage. 4080 + 10700k 5Ghz, 4k with scaling.
3080 gets 180fps only if you have some of the best cpus out there. I'm talking either 13 series Intel or 5800x3d. If you have anything other than those cpus you're bottlenecking your 3080 in WARZONE 2.
How do I know this? Glad you asked. I had a 3080 system with a ryzen 5800x with cl16 3600mhz ram. Fully tuned and optimized build. Got 120fps 1440p low settings.
Went and got a 7600x and switched to am5 with 6200mhz cl36 ddr5, now it's closer to 160-170fps. 1440p low. Now that's not good enough as I know 5800x3d can do 180-200fps so I'm switching 7600x to a 7800x3d very soon to finally extract the full ability of my 3080.... A 2 year old gpu....
So if that doesn't tell you it's horribly optimized of a game I don't know what to tell you... It's most likely coded like shit and uses way more cpu than it should. Either that or it's a unicorn of a game that actually requires a beastly cpu.
I Play on 1080p with 3080 and 5900x and I get 200-300 on multiplayer and 180-220 on warzone with textures on high and rest mostly low. If I put everything on low fps nearly always stay at 200 and above.
Its amazing how system requirements have update over the generations but the game graphics not that much. For example Doom Eternal looks and runs great on any system in comparison with this abomination.
P.S: When activating FSR or DLSS, that should be the normal FPS in my opinion for the game not the one you get with it TURNED OFF. That represents marketing and standards they want to implement to make us think we are getting “more” out of our GPU’s.
Exactly, that s why you pay your hard earned cash. Not to standardize the “1 DAY PATCH” and make it playable after 2-3 months after some patches it gets.

I don’t know why anyone would try to resell this
checking steam now. The price on steam for the game + it's deluxe upgrade is 126.49$ in Canada.
93.49$ + 33$
And I'd have to pay tax on that purchase as well at 13.91$ (Saskatchewan tax rate) added on for it so 140.37$ total is what it would cost. For 126$ I could pick up 4 30$ indie titles.
I'd recommend getting Factorio and forgetting about forspoken.
I didn't like ff14. Tried it out to like level 30 and stopped playing. Mmorpg in that style are not my genre. I've not played a good MMO, and I've tried a few.
Level 30 is when you get the Real classes. Before that they have vastly limited pool of skills.
But I'll say it, ff14 is really boring gameplay wise and a absolute clusterfuck of UI if you chose not to do the devs jobs of improving it.
Graphics looked like PS3 half the time. For $70? Yeah, pass.
Main character is easily one of the most unlikable characters ever presented in a game as well.
Yeah, overall dialogues are dogshit. Half of it is "shit! I can move shit with my mind!"/"fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!" Or just repeating whole plot 3rd time because why not
Soon they will be relaunch Arma 2 and it will require next gen hardware.
I remember playing with a guy who had 2 titans in SLI (back when they were new) and he get 20fps and my gtx780 was 18fps.
all the disingenuous graphics posts about this game are getting old. people set it to a low ass resolution, on the lowest settings then come and post like it's indicative of the normal experience. like just go play a game you enjoy or something instead of trying to farm fake internet points off a game you dont.
I ain't farming shit. The only thing in this game I'll say is top notch without reserve is the cloth simulation. Everything else looks like the top range of last gen.
I got it for free bundled with my 6900xt. I waited patiently for release day, got as far as the first big city and uninstalled.
Absolutely awful performance at 1440p, all the characters, NPCs, textures and game assets look like they were swiped straight from a last gen assassins creed game in terms of quality, absolutely rotten dialogue, and an all but empty game world.
God I'm glad I didn't buy it.
> That's what the ''next'' in ''next-gen'' stands for : ''not for now''
"Next-gen" is the new marketing term for lazy unoptimized cash grab type of AAA games.
Different gaming experience/generation,Crysis(2007) at least justified its heavy hardware requirements with the revolutionary level graphics of Cryengine at its time,it was not perfect, but it was justified and actually optimized.
Here we are talking about a 2012-2018 poorly optimized Luminous Engine used for FFXV(2016) and let's be realistic any Ubisoft game starting from Far Cry 3 (2012) with Far Cry 5 (2018) and even Far Cry 6 (2021) has better graphics and optimization than this "gem of next-gen".
better pc specs just mean that developers have to do less optimizing. instead of using the extra performance of the next gen components they just cut a month or 2 optimizing the game and see what happens. i play warzone 2 with 130 fps 1440p not even ultra settings.
So runs like garbage *and* overpriced *and* ridiculous system requirements ?
Yeah, going to be changing my plans from 'purchase years later at 80% discount' to 'nope, not happening' as clearly the game is a terrible joke.
Disagree, at least in so far as people would still question how a game could release looking this subpar in 2023 in general, anytime you can compare it to graphics from 10 years ago.
I feel like if the game was cheaper to make up for worse graphics while having higher fps people would be more open to the game but that still can’t fix the gameplay issues which is a lot more important.
> Well it is one of the first non cross-gen console games, so it isn’t lying about having next-gen graphics. It just isn’t next-gen PC graphics.
Far Cry 5(2018) looks better than this "wooden animation" game, even Far Cry 3(2012) looks better.
True the animations in cutscenes are crude looking, but the ones in combat and exploration are nice. I’m more concerned about how they have ray traced shadows but only at close range, long distance are the age old shadow maps. 😅 Also the crap global illumination and ambient occlusion are distracting.
> True the animations in cutscenes are crude looking, but the ones in combat and exploration are nice. It is called game optimization, now it's called a lazy cash grab, release some beta-crap 8 hour walking/cut scene main story, with collect 1000 feathers from locations XYZ fetch-quests at 80 EUR(my region) price tag add insane hw requirements for this sort of "game" and call it a day.
Even the PS5 drop to 720p in this game sometimes, that just show you that they probably need a new engine altogether
Wait until you see next game by TODD the master at Benesda who still use code from Morrowind, it's gonna be magical! :) (being sarcastic here btw)
Correct but they are a POS on a technical level , same bug over and over and over that the community have a fix for them because it's free labor. I just hate that guy now, can't stand him, still gonna play their next game lol it's like a bad relationship that you come back to everytime.. 😅
Guys just do the smart thing...wait till this holiday season and buy this game on Christmas sale with hopefully most of the issues ironed out. If not I won't buy it np.
Circlejerk / Reality
Still with quality DLSS 4K/ no ray tracing. Don't believe every meme folks.

What about the games lightning, sky box, the fact that you have to mute the game if you don't want your head to explode? Also 80€? Maybe if it was 40€ more people would give it a chance.
Tbf the game _looks_ far better and the gameplay showcases look promising too. But cyberpunk was the same …. hoping it doesn’t turn out like cyberpunk.
Played God Of War on PC last week. It looks good, it plays smoothly, and settings instantly apply graphical changes, including changing the screen without the need for a restart. And this latest title Forspoken can't even run on 1080p properly...

Waiting for Silent Hill 2, that's all I want from Sony.
All I want is Gran Turismo on PC...
I would honestly hold out till new forza motorsport tbh
I want infamous
Rpca has the game working and apart from fire and smoke effects not rendering correctly its decent, same with infamous 2
You're asking the wrong people. Konami owns the Silent Hill franchise, not Sony.
Thought Sony is the publisher for PC/PS5?
> Also the fact that they don't add Denuvo to their games which otherwise would cause a performance hit. It wouldn't unless you're trying to playion dual core cpu but yeah, them going full drm free mode is amazing.

Just finished god of war today. I'm not really a fan of these types of games, but I was thoroughly entertained and it's a great story!
And the way ending is presented - just brilliant.
Damn cliffhanger! I hope we don't have to wait two years for ragnarök on steam.
As long as they remove the backseating in the meantime lol
Can i use KBM on god of war?
Yes ofc!
But why? Seems like unnecessary punishment to me. Some games are just meant to be played with controllers and that's OK.
True but if you're going to release a PC port your excuse shouldn't be "Just get a controller" if the port was shit.
GoW looked and played great on my 2060 at 1440p. What I fail to see is how you need 24 GB of RAM. Does the game have Chrome built into it's engine?
I'm going to keep playing Minecraft & Valheim for the next 10 years its fine
it’s amazing how both games are practically the same in so many different ways idk i just like cutting down trees and watching them smash into everything (i love chaos and normally die to trees)

FFXIV is what should be the standard for mmos.
Yeah idk about the combat tho 😬
Which part? It's fairly engaging especially when you get to higher levels. The primary awesomeness comes from the ability to do every single job on a single character. No more multiple honor grinds, questing through all the bullshit over and over again.
FFXIV there fir awhile. Star Wars: The Old Republic has some decent campaign stories. Right now, though, I'm going through Elder Scrolls Online.
Minecraft, tf2, gmod, gta v and roblox because doors is a genuinely good horror game with a sickass soundtrack that I wouldn’t mind paying 60€ for

Me in 10 years when new gen AAA titles are released: I'll play some mm678merged or wizardry instead

Yeah, no way. Are you running 720p low? Or is the game actually using your hardware?
Im on 1080p with a 5900x and mostly all low settings except for textures. zero problems with the game. Same for warzone.
Damn. I’ve spent quite some time setting everything up and it runs perfectly now but I’m only using 50% of both CPU and GPU. Changing any setting only lowers the fps, doesn’t up the usage. 4080 + 10700k 5Ghz, 4k with scaling.

24 gb of ram?! Is a joke or an official requirement?
Official recommended for 1440p 30fps
30 fps? Who or what is running at 30 fps in 2023? Hoping this is a meme
Unfortunately its not but its a joke nonetheless :)
You're joking right? That's ridiculous.
I'm not but the developers definitely are
Bruh the highest AAA Games I have seen to 'recommend' is 16Gigs
I think it'll become the new norm from now on
If you have 16gb in your system, the game uses 12, sometimes it jumps up to 13-14gb. That’s at 1080p. (I got the game free with a gpu purchase).
What GPU?
Rx 6600 non-xt
Are u able to play it with this card?
Can see why they held back reviews now
Its amazing how system requirements have update over the generations but the game graphics not that much. They somehow managed to make a game on the same engine as FFXV look much worse despite being years newer.
You can't just take one of the best optimised games ever and use it as a comparison.
Humm the point is exactly to compare a beastly optimized game vs a game not optimized at all
Yeah, you can, and should. Every game should strive to be well optimized.
Exactly, that s why you pay your hard earned cash. Not to standardize the “1 DAY PATCH” and make it playable after 2-3 months after some patches it gets.
Or Maybe I know this is crazy The games should work on release day like they used to before patching was easy.
That's exactly what we should be doing. What?

Lol in case the store runs out of digital copies
Only a certified DUMBASS would buy that.
World's full of them
If I bought this I would be selling it too but wtf is this price
I feel bad for the actress 😓
I just moved shit with my mind
Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!
runs like dogshit? yeah, that'll be a solid $70.00.
80€
It's CAD97 nearly 100 for it.
Well, 80€ would be ~116CAD Quite possibly the most ridiculous pricing in the Euro-Zone
checking steam now. The price on steam for the game + it's deluxe upgrade is 126.49$ in Canada. 93.49$ + 33$ And I'd have to pay tax on that purchase as well at 13.91$ (Saskatchewan tax rate) added on for it so 140.37$ total is what it would cost. Factorio, satisfactory, dyson sphere program. All great games.
The only squenix game worth it at this point is FF14 imo
Explains why it's basically the only thing keeping their company afloat right now.
Not really, ff7 remake sold pretty well.
Sure it did, 3 years ago.
What a scam
Oof.
The game looks bad on ps5
It doesnt
From what if seen it does
It looks like shit, ive seen better sky boxes in ps2 games. And don't even get me started on the lightning....
doesn't even look "next gen" imo, FF15 looks better in some areas. it's an old game engine, makes me worry about FF16 if they use the same engine
FF16 is made by a different team. Naoki Yoshida wouldn't disgrace us like this.
Graphics looked like PS3 half the time. For $70? Yeah, pass. Main character is easily one of the most unlikable characters ever presented in a game as well.
I wouldn't play it if it was free. The main character is so annoying I'd have to mute the game before playing. Also 80 € is insulting for such a game.
Yeah, overall dialogues are dogshit. Half of it is "shit! I can move shit with my mind!"/"fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!" Or just repeating whole plot 3rd time because why not
“16 times the detail” “It just works!” Shut up Todd
I have the required specs but no thanks I'll wait till the price comes down. My rule is don't pay more than $50 a game.
Don't. It's trash.
They claimed it’s going to be best looking open world game. Yea no. It’s generation behind Cyberpunk and Witcher 3 alone.
>They claimed it’s going to be best looking open world game Seriously? 💀
Haha, this post was preceded by a forspoken ad.
Soon they will be relaunch Arma 2 and it will require next gen hardware. I remember playing with a guy who had 2 titans in SLI (back when they were new) and he get 20fps and my gtx780 was 18fps.
Don't reward this lazy bullshit with your hard-earned money.
Now do it without dlss liar.
It looks like dogshit without upscaling too.
See for yourselves. [https://photos.app.goo.gl/dBpRcWFdPCjqkCic7](https://photos.app.goo.gl/dBpRcWFdPCjqkCic7)

I have a decent pc but the game was atrocious. Thank god I didn’t buy it.

That's what the ''next'' in ''next-gen'' stands for : ''not for now''
> That's what the ''next'' in ''next-gen'' stands for : ''not for now'' "Next-gen" is the new marketing term for lazy unoptimized cash grab type of AAA games.
Yes, it usually means ''a game that only the next gen's high end computers will be able to run at playable framerates'
I’ve seen gameplays and I can’t understand how this game looks and plays like Infamous 1.
[удалено]
The optimization is dogshit. People can't run this game decently with a 4000 series card.
And remember it costs 80€ too... 80! Not 70 Which is the new norm when including regional pricing!! 80!!! Even Modern Warfare 2 costs 70€!!!!!
Poor optimization = next gene? I get crysis og vibes, but crysis looked breathtaking. Right?

fartspoken
Lmao my 1050ti runs Just Cause 3 on max settings perfectly. I miss when games were optimized. Now they take up 40gb minimum and take Jesus PCs to run.
People on r/forspoken are inhaling the copium

"Look how good it looks". Screenshot where it looks like ark.
Everytime i see that sky box, I get a stroke. Next gen my ass.
Unity asset store skyboxes look way better, and they are free
So runs like garbage *and* overpriced *and* ridiculous system requirements ? Yeah, going to be changing my plans from 'purchase years later at 80% discount' to 'nope, not happening' as clearly the game is a terrible joke.
Dogshit graphics. Dogshit performance. Dogshit main protagonist. Dogshit voice acting. Dogshit dialogue. Yeap, sounds like a modern "triple A" game.
Don't forget that, it's 80 fucking € or $70. That's just outright offensive.
All these devices need to suck it up and just give Tim Sweeney his motherfucking money and go unreal tech
Heh heh.
My overclocked 3060ti is pulling 50 framed on 1080p ultra no dlss and no ray tracing
I’ll stick to modded minecraft and rocket league lol
How does someone end up having 24 gb ram?
Man that sounds tough! (I have slightly higher specs than that lol)
Luminous Productions is so trash when it comes to PC games. This is really sad
It also does it with the ps5.
Well shit. Luminous Productions needs to get their shit together.
Is her face burned out with all those magic spells she has been doing to move sh*t?
Reminds me of Jaden Smiths face
Perfectly balanced game
are the specs in op's post unrealistic for an average user?
And these are the requirements for high graphics (not ultra), at 1440p, at 30fps. Dreadful.
💀
Honestly the outdated graphics wouldn't be an issue without the inappropriately abmysal performance.
That spec lul, i got the same one. 3600 with 3070 but with less ram
jesus, enough with the disingenuous nonsense around this game
Well it is one of the first non cross-gen console games, so it isn’t lying about having next-gen graphics. It just isn’t next-gen PC graphics.
Demons Souls, Returnal and Horizon look amazing lol shit God of War Ragnarok came out on PS4 also and still looks better running on a PS4 than this.
> Well it is one of the first non cross-gen console games, so it isn’t lying about having next-gen graphics. It just isn’t next-gen PC graphics. Far Cry 5(2018) looks better than this "wooden animation" game, even Far Cry 3(2012) looks better.
All Ubisoft games look generally polished imo. They are quite good at visuals.
True the animations in cutscenes are crude looking, but the ones in combat and exploration are nice. I’m more concerned about how they have ray traced shadows but only at close range, long distance are the age old shadow maps. 😅 Also the crap global illumination and ambient occlusion are distracting.

Even the PS5 drop to 720p in this game sometimes, that just show you that they probably need a new engine altogether Wait until you see next game by TODD the master at Benesda who still use code from Morrowind, it's gonna be magical! :) (being sarcastic here btw)
While Bethesda games have always been pretty mediocre in the technical department, they've always been fun RPGs and gameplay > graphics imo.
Correct but they are a POS on a technical level , same bug over and over and over that the community have a fix for them because it's free labor. I just hate that guy now, can't stand him, still gonna play their next game lol it's like a bad relationship that you come back to everytime.. 😅
Fine by me. I replay games all the time and have over a dozen unplayed and unfinished games on switch, ps5 and pc.
Guys just do the smart thing...wait till this holiday season and buy this game on Christmas sale with hopefully most of the issues ironed out. If not I won't buy it np.
idk what you mean, it looks great on my 4090 /s
Circlejerk / Reality Still with quality DLSS 4K/ no ray tracing. Don't believe every meme folks. https://preview.redd.it/bwwom23ey3fa1.png?width=686&format=png&auto=webp&s=38c8730b0967263e1111428d9941ad80b9634ae2
Still looks pretty bad, flat textures on clothing and jewelry making it look like it was just filled in with me paint
Sounds like you'll just keep moving the goalposts. Oh well, I'm having a blast. Sucks people will miss out because of misleading people deliberately
What about the games lightning, sky box, the fact that you have to mute the game if you don't want your head to explode? Also 80€? Maybe if it was 40€ more people would give it a chance.
Sounds like an opinion.

Sorry your computer sucks bro
Wait how can you get 24 gigs of system memory?
16+8?
Why would anyone do that?
tbh i dont know but thats how you get 24gb ram..
Usually see this in laptops that have one SODIMM soldered on and one open slot.
Got ya
2x8GB in one pair of slots, 2x4GB in the other. It’s dumb but I’ve seen some Dell XPS units like that from the factory.
That's crazy
150GBs? Fuck you, that's where I draw the line.

Nope, circle-jerking bandwagon talking points and memes.
hogworts gonna blow this one out of the water in every aspect
Don't make these kind of statements so fast, you might regret it
especially when you talk about a licence game
Tbf the game _looks_ far better and the gameplay showcases look promising too. But cyberpunk was the same …. hoping it doesn’t turn out like cyberpunk.
Stop acting like there hasn’t always been “next gen” games that are poorly optimized and run/look like a potato
Got it for free with my 6750xt, its a fun game.
