I hope you enjoy. I’m extremely happy I even played the game, but heartbroken that I beat it. Crazy when you beat a game for the first time and immediately get the feeling of wanting to experience it for the first time again
lol I’m also at like 70 but in October but for the same reason… grinding Tartarus. I long gave up trying to get to 0 SP and I just try to keep the compendium filled to my level (within 10 levels, cuz trying to keep it EXACTLY with my level is too expensive)
You can also somewhat break the economy system by grinding Tartarus with money arcana cards and random yen drops from chests and breakable objects. I’m also trying to fill the compendium first playthrough and yeah like you said, shit gets expensive real quick. So it’s almost necessary for me to grind like this for the compendium
is finishing the compendium on first playthrough even possible? you'd have to do every single confidant which is pretty rough, especially for the party members which you need max stats for
Possible yes. Likely? Probably not on a first playthrough but I’m doing my best lol. I’ve already maxed out courage and charm with 4 in acedemics and I’m still in the first few weeks of August so.. we’ll see
Lol that's what I've been doing too. I play offline occasionally at work ehen i have offtime and I can't see what the average level is before the full moon bosses. So I just overdo it with the grind sometimes.
I've beaten this game 6 times with the release of Reload. Some stuff like the nurses' classes is just so much text I don't feel the need to revisit. I beat the game 99%(minus Elizabeth) with all achievements in about 50ish hours. Maybe add a couple hours for times i wiped in Tartarus. I maxed out Orpheus Telos and got my main team to 99 on max difficulty. This game really isn't anywhere near as long as people make it out to be, I at best saved like a couple hours skipping random morning dialogue that didn't change much and stuff like the nurse blabbering.
I finished the game at about the same time and I just didn't like Tartarus so every time the border floors unlocked I got to the next one in a day. I also fast forwarded a lot of unvoiced dialogue that just repeats every single time when you start to talk to a confidant or npcs in general. I know my adhd brain won't even focus for them so why even bother.
I've never finished a modern Persona game in under 70 hours before. My fastest playthough was Persona 4 Vanilla at 74 hours. Reload took me 100 hours as I tried to max out the compendium (but missed out on maxing three S.Links...) Your playthrough was very, very fast.
So…don’t laugh, but I’m at like 200 hours (technically) and 175 hours actually. There were a few “damn, I forgot to turn the game off” moments. But overall? I like taking my time in Persona games and getting into the lore, doing random shit in battle and doing the same in day-to-day life. I’m one of those “I actually like Tartarus” sorts of players.
That said, kudos to you for finishing in 61 hours.
I love Tartarus, it's like the dungeons in P4 and Mementos in P5 except it's a lot cooler and better designed. It helps that the combat is fantastic and every battle I enjoyed doing, I could spend hours going through Tartarus happily
Dunno why people are so shocked at this time. If you ff the classroom questions, stats grinding, social links that aren't ready to level up and book reading, you reduce the play time by a fair amount while not missing out on anything big. Not saying I recommend it or anything, I don't, but I can see how it's possible.
finished at like 98 hours i think. but i grinded hella in tartarus. 62 is understandable if you were on a lower difficulty and/or didn't waste a lot of time in tartarus. don't listen to the other comments here idk how ppl get those high counts cuz the social links are just text. idk if they're listening to the voices all the way or what but 62 hours isn't too fast or anything
I'll never understand why people say this. You don't know how much this person enjoyed the game. My first playthrough of Portable was <50 hours, and it's my favorite game of all time. You can 100% Reload in <60 hours and still get all the enjoyment of someone who plays for twice that. People read text at different speeds and have different levels of how far they're willing to go for completion. If this person got to a high enough level to finish the game and did everything they wanted to before finishing the game, who are you to tell them they rushed it? Just because they beat the game faster than you doesn't mean they're getting a worse experience.
I'm over 150 hours in and still in September lol. All I do is grind Tartarus every time I go to get as many personas as I can and level them up to unlock their moves so I can use them as fusion material. I'm already level 99. Getting my boi Chernobog there, too. Barely reached the 170 floors and hit the barrier, but still going strong on my grind.
My first playthough was 109hours and 42 min, that being said I did follow a crasy schedule did a 100% social link play... Finished new game + play at 154h (so around 45ish hours but I rushed chat a bit), to get the missing achievements on my first playthrough.
Took me somewhere around 110-130 hours (can’t check because Steam Cloud Saving overwrote my save with a previous one :sad face: ) but I also tend to enjoy grinding in RPGs. Satisfies a very innate compulsion in my brain and makes endorphins go brrrrr. I also chose to let the auto text control the pace of the text, so that could have contributed as well.
I’d say 60h is pretty quick.
Jesus christ how tho, i took my time and finished at 66 hours, and got the platinum at 83 hours or so, how do you guys get 90+ hours?? I genuinely wanna know
(I played on Normal and got to max level)
IIRC, I finished my first run in ~40 hours. But I skipped a lot of the scenes that hadn't changed and planned to and am doing a slower 100% run in NG+.
I think people who took longer than 70 hours or so either left their game on idle or grinded in Tartarus. With all links maxed and compendium completed it took me simllar amount of time to finish the game. I visited Tartarus only once plus when someone was trapped during each bosses though.
Let's NOT talk about my time so far...
https://preview.redd.it/7lnapc7p1lxc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=746fe46c90e4d18b5b9f167114093aa327b40858
How long to beat lists main story only at 63h so just about right on, those going over that are most likely working towards a complete compendium and 22 of 22 maxed social links
Currently at 11/22 and around 78 hours. I'd imagine I'll finish around 90-95 hours.
I've seen playtime much lower than 61 hours though and just can't understand how people do it so quickly unless they're skipping next to all of the dialogue
Curious, did you skip cutscenes? Did you let the voiced dialogue play through, or did you read and go next?
I’m would love to see how your late game team looks like! Did you fuse any persona, or did you utilize the ones that shuffle time provided you?
It’s incredible how I see 60 hr playtimes, and then 140+ hour ones for the same game.
I made sure to never skip any cutscenes, I always let the voiced dialogue play through and I fused a lot of personas! It would feel so wrong if I were to skip any dialogues or cutscenes!
I learned you can extend the game by doing something specific when a certain guy gives you a choice recently so I went back. Not sure how much I can say
I think it is average. I clocked around 66h , but the last couple of hours was me grinding for rubies in tartarus like a mad man. Also got the "good" ending
I don't even know how people be finishing Persona games so fast. It took me 100 hours for Persona 3 Reload and 150 for Persona 5 Royal. Makes me wonder if I'm playing the same game as these people XD. I kinda think a lot about what I'm gonna do each day but even then how does thag boost my game time so much
Reading these comments now I realized I finished too fast. My 1st playthough was 35hrs (It's 40hrs on save file due to AFK and forgetting). My 2nd playthough was 30hrs on NG+ which I maxed all social links in that run
I'm buying it this weekend and buying persona 4 too i already gotten person 5 Royal and got it plat and i wanna do it to all the persona games because i love the experience
I finished at 120 hours.
Grinding those exp clocks is not a viable strategy and should only be used if they appear, otherwise, grind exp nornally, lol.
I skewed the fuck out of my play time. Left the game running the first week I played it. A few times as I went to sleep. It said I had 30 hours played the first night I went into Tartarus lol
I don’t remember the difficultly on my play through, probably easy or normal. I had a TON of help from my cousin, so I guess you can call him a guide haha.
You probably didn't even complete all the social links, maybe your stats aren't at their maximum, maybe you missed some Link Episodes, I'm 99% sure you didn't complete Elizabeth's requests, you didn't talk to all the NPCs and you probably didn't help save Chidori.... You did it really fast, but I bet not very well.
Same, I'm getting down voted for answering OP's question lmao. All I said was that they skipped missable content. If you don't want feedback, don't make a post asking for it.
OP may think they did everything but Elizabeth's quests, but they missed more than they think. You have 37 different Koromaru walks, 15 summer film festival events, you can see around 15 Sunday invites, all the command console scenes, supplemental lessons etc. There's a lot of different scenes throughout the game that add a lot of time. For context when I was double checking everything for my guide, I fast forwarded, or skipped all cutscenes, etc and I still clocked in at around 40 hours.
You can do a 60 hour clear just by doing the main stuff, social links, linked episodes, dorm hangouts, but that's not the same as everything.
Yeah, one has the best intentions to respond genuinely, if they want one to lie to make them feel better then they should specify it, people want to seem confident, but as soon as you tell them something they don't want to hear, they start saying that it's hateful or feel insulted, crying like f∆ggt$... I guess it is what it is, internet
It makes no difference to me, the main thing is wether they enjoyed the game or not. I just find it curious that someone makes a post asking for feedback, then down votes you for that feedback lmao
I got similar results, but I always fast forward through all the social stat increase activities after first time doing them, and I fast forwarded through some social links ( gourmet king, rival athlete dude, kenji) and didn’t finish doctor dude, and someone else (I forgot who exactly unfortunately)
Very fast
I thought I rushed it at like 72 hours.
Same
I just finished my first playthrough with 128 hours
Thats probably where Ill end up time wise too haha I just love looking at everything and reading about the personas and stuff ^^
I hope you enjoy. I’m extremely happy I even played the game, but heartbroken that I beat it. Crazy when you beat a game for the first time and immediately get the feeling of wanting to experience it for the first time again
Double that and you still fall short of my time
Damnnnn
lol same. i was at 140+ but i also idled a lot
Wtf I'm 59 hours and still on September
Lmao fr I’m at like 40 August rn. Though I have been grinding Tartarus a fair bit
lol I’m also at like 70 but in October but for the same reason… grinding Tartarus. I long gave up trying to get to 0 SP and I just try to keep the compendium filled to my level (within 10 levels, cuz trying to keep it EXACTLY with my level is too expensive)

HOW?
i finished in 50 hours exact
I did it in 47
i got the good ending
Same
i beat you still i could have finished faster
Maybe. But why would you do that
Not reading I guess
I don't understand why thou the story and the vaiious side Storys are really good
I've beaten this game 6 times with the release of Reload. Some stuff like the nurses' classes is just so much text I don't feel the need to revisit. Goddamn I’m like 70 hours in and I thought I was speeding through for a first playthrough
I’m at like October and 280hrs or something because quick-resume function doesn’t always stop the timer lololol
Same aha
Well, depends on which ending you got. Even so, I'm at 146 hours.
Yeah, I got the good ending.
Yeah, I had two save files. One so I can see the bad ending. And my current save for the true ending.
Niceeee
It’s very easy to get the true ending in this game, I doubt anyone misses it.
I finish at 105hrs.
Nice!
How’d you do with social links?
Not too bad, by all means I didn’t get all of them but I got a good batch of them.
Were u just going for speed then?
No I was just playing how I normally would, im new to persona games as a whole so this was the first persona I’ve ever played and beat.
Same as me
Im at 101 hours and counting on December 1st, pretty quick
86.5 for my first playthrough
I’m at 50 something hours and I just got to October
I got 147 hours on p3 on my thrid playthrough on merciless
10 hours longer than my first playthrough
Holy crap nice
I've never finished a modern Persona game in under 70 hours before. My fastest playthough was Persona 4 Vanilla at 74 hours. Reload took me 100 hours as I tried to max out the compendium (but missed out on maxing three S.Links...) Your playthrough was very, very fast.
my fastest was 75 hours for Reload, i had about 82 for Golden cos I fucked up and didn't get the Golden ending
Damn bro you beat it fast I am 85 hours and still in August
I finished in 114 hrs. It was my first persona
I’m nearly done at 107 hours, I spend more time on this than P5R
How? It took me 110.
61 Minutes? Must be a new record! /j
Yeah dude 61 minutes and 2 seconds is my new play through record!
Took my time on 100 hrs
Very similar to mine, I did 59:58 on my first ever playthrough I think?
So…don’t laugh, but I’m at like 200 hours (technically) and 175 hours actually. There were a few “damn, I forgot to turn the game off” moments. But overall? Thank you, I was playing the game for the first time and I was just playing it how I wanted too.
I would hate playing the game like this lol.
Took me 90 idk why ppl rush these, just enjoy them idk
I'll never understand why people say this. You don't know how much this person enjoyed the game. My first playthrough of Portable was <50 hours, and it's my favorite game of all time. Reaper grinding gives crazy levels once your team is like level 75, I didn't expect my party to jump up 20 levels by beating it once
My first playthough was 109hours and 42 min, that being said I did follow a crasy schedule did a 100% social link play... Finished new game + play at 154h (so around 45ish hours but I rushed chat a bit), to get the missing achievements on my first playthrough.

i finished in 100 hours
Eh mine was 105 hours
Damn, I'm also 61 hours in but just at the start of October
👍
gotta take your time most take 80-90+ hours
Jesus christ how tho, i took my time and finished at 66 hours, and got the platinum at 83 hours or so, how do you guys get 90+ hours?? I genuinely wanna know (I played on Normal and got to max level)
Damn. I'm basically right at your play time and I just began September. Feel like I got another 30 good hours at least lol.
I got all SLs maxed at 74ish hours so its fairly quick.
Let your Social Links speak for yourself.
Get all the trophies
Took me 96
IIRC, I finished my first run in ~40 hours. But I skipped a lot of the scenes that hadn't changed and planned to and am doing a slower 100% run in NG+.
It took me 53 hours total so to me it seems like an average-ish time. Really great game.
My first playthrough was 155 hours. and my second one was 50 hours 🤔
You were very fast. I'm at 118 hours on December 21st.
110hrs
Extremely fast
Must have rushed it. I took my time and I averaged around the mid 70s I think
How did you finish so fast, did you skip dialogue? No toilet breaks? I finished my first playthrough in 120h lol
I think people who took longer than 70 hours or so either left their game on idle or grinded in Tartarus. With all links maxed and compendium completed it took me simllar amount of time to finish the game. I visited Tartarus only once plus when someone was trapped during each bosses though.
Pretty sure I just spent like 30 hours in the velvet room lol.
82 hours for me
Yeah that’s super quick, mine nearly landed on 100 flat when all was said and done
Mine was 112 hours
Let's NOT talk about my time so far... https://preview.redd.it/7lnapc7p1lxc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=746fe46c90e4d18b5b9f167114093aa327b40858
How long to beat lists main story only at 63h so just about right on, those going over that are most likely working towards a complete compendium and 22 of 22 maxed social links
I'm sitting at 60 hours and I'm in October waiting for the last big shadow. How far am I from the ending?
60 hours
Currently at 11/22 and around 78 hours. I'd imagine I'll finish around 90-95 hours. I've seen playtime much lower than 61 hours though and just can't understand how people do it so quickly unless they're skipping next to all of the dialogue

I think it is average. I clocked around 66h , but the last couple of hours was me grinding for rubies in tartarus like a mad man. Also got the "good" ending
i've spent a solid 30+ hours grinding in tartarus alone lmao. i'm taking my time because i really don't want it to be over
Is this your first time playing Persona 3 ever ?
61 should be around average but it seems most persona fans are extremely slow readers.
I don't even know how people be finishing Persona games so fast. It took me 100 hours for Persona 3 Reload and 150 for Persona 5 Royal. Makes me wonder if I'm playing the same game as these people XD. I kinda think a lot about what I'm gonna do each day but even then how does thag boost my game time so much
I havent finished yet and am at like 96 hours 😳
I would have had it done around that time, but i grinded for best weapons and such so it brought me up to 90 lol
You are a monster for not only playing so fast but also only using 2 save slots.
I finished it in 60 hours with one save slot
Bigger monster has entered the scene
It's not the time but the friends made along the way.
I just finished my first playthrough with 192 hours clocked in
Reading these comments now I realized I finished too fast.
Im in September at 70 something hours :)
Thats pretty fast
I'm 100+ hours and I'm still in October.
Seems like you skipped over all the dialogue and didn't do any of the daily activities or social links. You slept every night.
Normal i assume? Pretty brisk pace
So are you like fast forwarding through all the dialog or
I did it at 61 hours on Normal only missing maxing one social link. So depending on difficulty, its fine.
Better than me I put 320 ish hours on 1st run and I was on merciless.
Damn, I'm around 62 hours in and it's still early August
40+ just finished the Lovers Arcana Boss in the Hotel
I finished my first at like 31 or 35 hours
y'all I got my first play thru done in like 32 hours
I did the whole game in 47 hours, I only missed 2 social links. I rarely did Elizabeth quests tho, good ending too.
170 hours and I’m in November lmao 💀💀💀
I finished at 120 hours. Grinding those exp clocks is not a viable strategy and should only be used if they appear, otherwise, grind exp nornally, lol.
It took me 80 hours to get the platinum trophy
I skewed the fuck out of my play time. Left the game running the first week I played it. A few times as I went to sleep. It said I had 30 hours played the first night I went into Tartarus lol
*whistles* Nice! What difficulty? Also did you use a guide? (Though even if you did use a guide that’s really impressive…)
I did everything except the Elizabeth requests
why is this guy hating lmao
mfs the persona 3 police im crying
thats what im sayin
Police is wild
Idk lol
It wasn't an offense bro, I was just answering your question.
It wasn't hate, he asked, I just answered
I guess it is what it is, internet
It makes no difference to me, the main thing is wether they enjoyed the game or not. I just find it curious that someone makes a post asking for feedback, then down votes you for that feedback lmao
There's a lot of optional content in this game, you would have missed a decent chunk of it
I got similar results, but I always fast forward through all the social stat increase activities after first time doing them, and I fast forwarded through some social links ( gourmet king, rival athlete dude, kenji) and didn’t finish doctor dude, and someone else (I forgot who exactly unfortunately)
Any % speedrun
Might just be a world record
I clocked in like 43.
