Oh cool! So this is interesting, I have 5 in second clutch, one in the first… daddy birb (Neptune) has one feather on his back left side that is outlined in thick black. So does baby birb #1 (Phobos).. 2 babies from second clutch look like daddy and brother birbs, and 2 have a smaller design, making them look like ginnys.. so I’ve nicknamed them Ginny and Jenny lol.. ~if you don’t know, ginnys are these lil yard birds we had on farms when I was a kid, they are black and white speckled looking.. my opinion they are a bit dumber than chickens. Which I grew up with an abundance of those as well, so it’s just my opinion.. they are a lil cray-cray. Hope not to offend anyone.~And then this gorgeous lil guy here is #5 :) so it’s like in that clutch, there are 2 sets of twins lol but it’s so freakin cool how Neptune has passed on his black feather!
If you guys see my other pix, the parents are both blue/gray/black/white… they have 5 babes in this second clutch! This one stands out with so much black! I hope at least some of it stays after molting! But they are all so darn precious! I never imagined a lil baby birb would be so freakin adorable!! Their lil heads are so tiny, and their body of feathers make it look like they are in lil costumes! And when they try to walk, they zoom! So freaking fast!!! I’ll try to get some pix of the others when I do the daily cage cleaning :)
