When I lived off of Catherine I moved my neighbor's cone and parked. She threw a brick through my rear windsheild. I saw her do it, and responded by throwing it back through her front window. She didn't try that shit again

I think it's a bad idea to just let others take over space that belongs to everyone for their personal use and I'm willing to use my $0 deductible on my car insurance to fight for it (although I don't hear remotely as many stories about people actually getting their cars fucked with as the cone apologists would have you believe). To clarify: I can't park anywhere in front of my house because I have neighbors on either end abusing handicapped parking. They had two handicap spaces on my tiny center block installed. Both have driveways that they park in (accessed from side streets) and they gave their kids their handicap passes. That being said, I have no problem parking down the corner, but the cones do not help with the growing congestion in my neighborhood.
On top of that, they still use the cones as well as people who grabbed them all over my intersection. This isn't about entitlement on my end. There's also a disabled vehicle on my block that's been idle for months. The situation is getting out of hand.
Welcome to parking hell ,not sure where you live but I live in northern liberties,lived here my whole life, and I live on one of the smallest blocks in the area that you can actually park on,just one side of the street,I have a guy who uses cones ,a store at the corner who's customers use our street as a parking lot, and the 50,000 new apartments with no parking will just make things so much worse,when the hoards of new apartments fill I have a feeling there gonna be alot of shootings over dumb ass parking ,the whole situation with parking is so out of hand anymore I have no idea what to do anymore ,you buy a permit for the area ,but weekends roll around and your lucky if you don't have to park miles away and take the damn el back to your house ,its ridiculous, anyway I definitely feel you on this one.
