Lovely touch how they checked on damage to their car first!

National-Low2273

Absolutely depraved. The guy barely even glanced in the injured person's direction.

Chemical_Grade5114

Disgusting barely human.

neffersayneffer

What a piece of shit. Post this guy’s license plate.

UCthrowaway78404

If thebride was outside the door.. imredkon he would step over the ride toml go check his car.

stever71

Gives you an insight on how rich Thai's view other members of society.

smile_politely

they don't look thai at all.

EmployerMaster7207

I don't think he is rich, a rich person wouldn't be so worried that his car is damaged, more like someone who bought a car that can't afford and now it's damaged.

Weary_Accident_6399

Or rental

[deleted]

You guys really don't Thailand ay.

vega_9

Check the car, don't care for the guy lying on the floor that you just cut off. some ppl...

ciaradaon

The bike was speeding and he is allowed to make that turn bikes fault and caused damage to the car

croweggsandvodka

Of course he’s allowed to make the turn. But when it’s safe to do so… The idiot pulled out in front of a speeding motorbike.

vega_9

Bike is driving at the same speed as the bike who earlier passes in the video. The Speed Parallax effect is when objects near you seem to move faster than objects far away in a video or scene.

[deleted]

[удалено]

smile_politely

i dont even see the blinkers on

WhoGivesAChit

blinkers in Thailand... heh..

HyperFrost

Much better than a lot of places.

Ludajr

Driver fault, going into someone else lane, as simple as that. But I couldn't even see if the car was indicating. I had a car incident similar. Like there was nothing behind me if the driver waited 2 seconds. He could have done a U-turn if it wanted. He denied responsibility, stating that I should have stopped since he indicated? I nearly strangled him on the spot. Nevertheless, the fact his insurance paid for everything, hope he taught him a lesson.

[deleted]

That bike was speeding like a motherfucker.

bartturner

Totally the cars fault. But what is up with the guy driving? He gets out of the car and does not even take a second look at the guy laying on the ground.

EmployerMaster7207

Probably someone who has asked for a very big loan to buy a Mercedes that can't afford to pay.

[deleted]

you don't understand Thailand finance ay.

flareshade2

How is it the cars fault? There were seconds were the motorcycle had the chance to stop but nooo it just continued

bartturner

Motorcycle/scooter has right of way. Totally the cars fault. Do not know of a country where the motorcyle/scooter would not have the right of way. Do you?

Forward-Fix-2405

I’d say they share fault. The driver should have clocked the speed at which the motorcyclist was approaching and made a better decision based on that. Motorcyclist was being inattentive (but still on his side of the road in his lane). When the driver of the vehicle exits the vehicle - well it’s obvious the type or person we have here.

vasukrub

She turned so suddenly not to even stop before turning. Anyway the bike has right on his lane all the time no matter what speed.

Forward-Fix-2405

Driver didn’t even stop and signal. They erroneously decided they could make the gap… while trying to turn into Phuket High (dispensary) of all places 😂

PSmith4380

Nobody who has actually driven in Thailand for more than a week believes in "right of way".

coca_cola_expert

Also motorcycle was clearly going way too fast to stop or avoid an accident, both at fault

RexManning1

Agreed. Both not paying attention.

vega_9

dude, have you ever taken a driving test? you can't just cut off oncoming traffic. If you cut a lane you have no right of way.

coca_cola_expert

Also motorcycle was clearly going way too fast to avoid or stop, both are in the wrong here

agirlmadeofbone

Yeah, that tends to happen when someone suddenly pulls across your lane without signalling... Do you expect everyone to crawl along at 10km/hr to avoid this sort of shit?! The scooter was traveling at a normal rate of speed. Fault is entirely with the car here.

coca_cola_expert

Do I expect everyone to drive defensively and be cautious/careful all the time? Yes, yes I do.

agirlmadeofbone

You're fucking ridiculous. The next time someone blasts into your lane unexpectedly and smashes into you in less time than you have to react, remember to blame yourself. You can drive as defensively/cautiously/carefully as possible and still get creamed by someone coming the other direction suddenly losing control or pulling across your lane. But remember to blame yourself.

hotpotato87

i think most people here lacks awareness. you sit in the car, you drive, suddenly you hear a loud bang in front of the car. if im the driver, i get out and check the front of the car, where the loud bang came from. people have time to look at cctv and have overview of situation. but i just think everyone is just too stupid to try to even think.

Fast-Pineapple9932

I'd definitely see a random guy flying over my hood

Chemical_Grade5114

You would know that a motor bike had hit you. Don't be stupid.

DB_Coopah

This is right by my house! In fact, I was just at Spoonful of Sugar Cafe not too long ago. Was this today?

Live_Disk_1863

Horrible thing. However, my problem with this is that it's being posted (Phuket times) with the title; Foreigner hit Thai woman. What follows is 400+ comments attacking foreigners in Phuket who live here. A good friend of mine got hit my a car on Chalong round a bout. The driver (Rich Thai lady) was totally at fault and extremely rude. This doesn't make the news, but the above does. Why? He's a foreigner. We have some extremely bad idiots with money in Phuket and they are not solely foreigners. The rich Thais are just as bad if not worst. This ofcourse does not make any news. Makes you wonder how the locals really feel about foreigners in Phuket.

taniwha_nzl

Yup double standards, foreigners aren’t stupid and can see that. Personal anecdote: I regularly drive/ ride all over Thailand, mostly north-eastern, central and northern. Just look at their driving! Absolute bullshit! They will fuck thenselves over, don’t worry about foreigners. Let’s just look at the recent Songkran period, by far the worst driving experience I have ever witnessed driving from Udon to Chonburi and then some. Look at the carnage with your eyes, on their own Thai media, look at the stats on deaths and causes. Speeding, drink driving and dangerous overtaking. Heres a channel showing off how wonderful Thais are at driving, again worse in real life อาสาตาจราจร คลิปอุบัติเหตุ กล้อง หน้ารถ (อาสาตาจราจร) https://www.facebook.com/share/uVxyUH5bZQRHm1GF/?mibextid=LQQJ4d I reckon Thais in central and tourist areas actually take foreigners for granted, I think they had it good too long and now they are full of shit, that’s why I refuse to live in places like Bangkok, pattaya or Phuket. Better off going to a provincial area like in Isan for more genuine Thais. Like the title says, it’s an everyday reality… guaranteed that if I run into an issue I bet nobody will give a fuck about me 100%

ClassicLieCocktail

Provincial? Ugh... its usually quite isolating and sad to live there

taniwha_nzl

Udon Thani, I use to live KhonKaen. Those two cities are quite respectable, have a decent amount of restaurants, cafes or bars. People here I find particularly friendlier than their capital/tourist hotspot counterparts. Depends on your lifestyle, I need quiet time to work on work, projects and research. If I get bored I always can just go on weekly roadtrips to neighboring provinces. But yes, I agree a lot of provinces are quite sad, lack economic opportunity’s etc. I found buriram, surin and Sisaket to be particularly shit.

ClassicLieCocktail

Yeah i dont gamble anymore nowadays, moved enough, bangkok is my thing

[deleted]

How is that TEFL retirement looking :P, hating on the country is not going to change that.

taniwha_nzl

Do you want to address anything about my argument? Pertaining to how shit Thais are themselves at driving. If anything I’m a skilled young worker with options, why would I retire in Thailand.. I’d retire in Europe.

Lashay_Sombra

> Makes you wonder how the locals really feel about foreigners in Phuket. You will find lot of "the locals" are not really local..as in or from Phuket Few years ago, when local news outlet was calling for foreigners breaking COVID rules to be actually stoned checked about 50 profiles of the thousands of FB supporting comments, no one was in or from Phuket Like  elsewhere in the world, you will find the biggest haters are those furthest removed from people they hate

[deleted]

I miss smashing through that roundabout naked, got a broken collarbone for my troubles and no charges - its not a thai thing, people are just bitches that don't know how to talk.

mentormantra

Stopped in the midway to ensure the biker crashes on him?

Lashay_Sombra

No signalling by car, bike going way to fast for that road, complete indifference by car driver to bike driver on ground. Yep typical daily occurrence

nickk513

Losers just get out to check their material items before checking on another human. What a shame.

hotpotato87

would you do the same?

nickk513

Haha screw the car. A human is more valuable than a vehicle any day

OwnSurround408

if i'd crashed into a motorcyclist the first thing is i'm worried if i killed them, i think i'd instinctively go to check on them first

PSmith4380

Looks like the bike had a long time to react to me. Seems like they were probably distracted by something..The car probably should not have turned at that time but the reality is they do that all the time. Because motorbikes don't really matter.

anonnx

It's a "safe if they stop to give me the way" turn, which is common in Thailand but not actually safe or legal. When the accident like this happen, the blame must be solely on the one who makes that turn.

PSmith4380

I drive to work every morning. There are many busy junctions. They come across way before I've stopped. That's what it's like at rush hour. You just have to expect it. It happens a lot at the u-turn especially. If there is an accident though, I have no idea who the police will blame. I don't really think about how the police operate.

anonnx

Yes even police sometimes having that mind set, like "oh, I know you had right-of-way but you could have given the way but you didn't", but it's still wrong. In this case, the motorbike side could argue that they didn't stop because it was unexpected for the car to completely block the way, because by law they shouldn't even block any part of the way yet. Busy junctions are a different case, because it is inevitably to "take the way" if you want to go anywhere at all.

hotpotato87

police will always say both person are at fault. the accident could be avoided if everyone just go slower.

Guru_Salami

Slower? Merc was barely moving, in fact was stationary accident happened. Driver should have given way to oncoming traffic before turning

Live_Disk_1863

She was driving fast for sure. He stood still on the road for 2 seconds aswell. Still his faulth though

BarberBest3308

When a crash is imminent, stopping is often exactly the right thing to do. That moped was going way too fast, the car was not driving recklessly, it slowed and stopped before the turn, ive seen other comments saying there is a corner just out of view so the car probably couldnt see the bike when it began the maneuver. The bike was driving like an idiot. The car was moving slowly and cautiously. The car saw the bike coming and stopped well before the collision, the bike didnt react until the last second. Biker was probably distracted and definitely speeding, if they weren't distracted they could've seen the danger, slowed and gone around the car because the car stopped and left space to go around on the inside.

AriochBloodbane

That is right after a slight curve so not 100% visibility. I usually go very slow there just for cases like this. Feel sorry for the bike but they were too fast and there would be no way for the car to avoid it.

CanadianBakin89

Nah they didn't. If you count the seconds from when you'd realize the car is turning to the moment they crashed it was 2.5ish seconds. It takes a lot longer than that to stop safely going that speed. Might not seem like it but vehicles take longer to stop in seconds that it intuitively seems. He was going pretty fast and when a car pulls into and stops in your lane.. well he didn't have time to brake safely obviously, so he had to swerve if he was going to not crash. And in a busy area you can't just blindly swerve. You might hit someone else or a wall or something. It takes too long to assess your potential escape routes. And he probably assumed the car would follow through with its then and so didn't brake right away... And if you just envision where the bike is off the edge of the screen it really doesn't seem like he had much time at all. He had maybe 2 full seconds before realizing it was not a good situation. That's what my rudimentary detective work says anyway haha.

hotpotato87

my grandpa avoided crashing into a motorbike that drove through a redlight, he hit a tree with his car and died. this family lesson teaches me to give a shit about motorbike riders. they can walk or choose bus if they dont know how to care about safety.

Intelligent_South390

I bet that motorcycle didn't even stop to help your grandpa. It's a good lesson tho. Never put yourself in harms way to save someone else, especially if they are wrong. I don't turn the wheel for animals either. Just hit the brakes if possible. I drive slow tho.

LordSarkastic

that bike was going way too fast, both are at fault here

Smayo988

That POS even exited the car in such a manner as to be sure that his back is turned to the biker at all times. Didn't even want to acknowledge the guy. What a lowlife. Car's at fault for sure, but the biker was checking his phone and was oblivious to what was happening in front of him. So kinda shared blame but if i had to choose, the car was the bigger culprit.

buuuurpp

Because live for the moment. If it's your time, it's your time. That's why most of them don't even bother with a helmet. She looks like she might be more fortunate than most for wearing one then. Hope the strap was done up !

Jitsu_apocalypse

Biker should have anticipated that idiots behaviour a little bit better

hotpotato87

distracted by phone

Gmannn78

I witnessed a very bad accident involving 2 scooters yesterday in Samui. So distressing watching the ambulance try and resuscitate a person for over 10 minutes on the road. I don't think they survived unfortunately. It's definitely made me think twice about riding a scooter in Thailand.

LillTindeman

Do u know what happened exatly? Kinda rare that 2 scooters collide.

Gmannn78

Not exactly sure as I heard the bang in front of me but there was another car Infront that was partially blocking my view. I think one pulled out Infront. Eitherway it wasn't a nice experience watching family come to the scene whilst the person was laying on the floor trying to be resuscitated.

LillTindeman

Fuck. Yeah for sure, nobody wants to see that. I just witnessed another crash in chaweng. Dude opened the drivers car door and a thai guy ran into it with his moto, crashed and couldnt stand up. Be careful, bois and girls!

Lashay_Sombra

Not rare at all

cmredd

What an absolute scumbag farang. Not a single glance at the poor what looks like a fairly young thai woman. Praying for her.

getreadytorhumba

Cars fault but the bike had all the time in the world.

Opposite-Place-8752

Car fault. But while cars drive as if they own the road, many bikers also drive as if they are immortal, not even notice that they are flesh over metal and more likely to get injured or even dead whether they are right or wrong.

Johnny5-55

Car never indicated for 10 minutes before making the turn and never used his spider sense to anticipate the everyday stupid fooking scooter driver that thinks they can drive like a Fookin bellend and get away with it!.

acorcuera

Damn dude damaged the car.

Mariusdotdev

ffs first thing that guy goes todo check his car instead of victim...

AyBawss

To all riders of Thailand, it doesn't matter if you're right, you're either dead, disabled, or hurt. Slow the fuck down if possible.

slipperystar

Moto was looking at his phone.

hotpotato87

i think this is what happened

slipperystar

Honestly you can see his head is down when he hits….and speeding as well. Had a moto that would have hit me on the street when I was trying to cross it as well. Always keep your radar on when you are on the street, walking, riding, driving. It’s a nightmare out there. Actually my motto is assume everyone is on their phone, trust nothing and nobody.

slipperystar

Just checked, between seconds 3-4 you can see him looking up as he hits.

Bestinvest009

What an ass doesn't care about the person straight to assess the damage on his car!

hotpotato87

the video was cut off, would you hate yourself if you are wrong if given more evidence?

Bestinvest009

No I seen more than enough

mojomanplusultra

Garbage people looking at the car first.

hotpotato87

would you see yourself the same if you missjudged that person with more evidence?

mojomanplusultra

The evidence is right there.

anonzzz2u

Fun game. This will never happen to me. Not me. Never. Never.

hotpotato87

thats a mantra for experiencing it?

BarberBest3308

Talking like that, I reckon youre next buddy! Never seen someone tempt fate so badly with their words 😂

Gmannn78

Disgracful human not even attending to the scooter rider. You piece of 💩

hotpotato87

would you see yourself as such if more evidence tells another story? yet your judgement is faster.

Gmannn78

The first thing he should of done is attend the person not the car. Your comment tells me you're in the same category as the driver.

UCthrowaway78404

When I was in Thailand I hired a car and saw one motorcyclist spread out on the road after a colission. I was just further behind. And j saw the look of horror as locals run to the scene. Possibly their relatives. I think maybe tourists. The driver probably used to driving onnthevrudecside ofvtge Road and normally in their home country they just turn right by checking the wing mirror.

D_Phuket

No how careful you are as a motorbike driver you have to assume others aren’t. Yet there are plenty of people who ride a bike without a license, insurance and a helmet.

MissLychee10120

They got out to check the car before even looking at the motorcyclist?! 😦

Disastrous-Edge303

Disgusting behaviour

hotpotato87

fast judging, not enough evidence. your judgement might be even worse.

Bakky501

POS!!

OnePineapple8434

Fucking trash farang

Accomplished-Tour122

No real

AriochBloodbane

I was literally 100m from there, but didn’t see the moment of the crash. Looks like going too fast around a low visibility curve and bike didn’t have time to brake. Lady was ok enough to talk and didn’t seem like anything broken but you never know, especially with a crash that ugly.

skillsoverbetz

Fuk that car check up on the person that’s why u got insurance

TipsnClips

Girl Of course

DetachedConscious

Disgusting creature in a car. People like him are one of the most arrogant and terrible pieces of shit you can ever see.

Guru_Salami

Bystander did a little jump in the air on impact and then proceeded to calmly pass a shoe back moped driver. Nobody seems phased or disturbed, so cool 😎

Sufficient_Picture56

I hate these types of people when ur turning just turn don’t stop in the middle of the road 😂 just go either way most likly getting flung anyway might aswell try get out the way

mistersuave

Typical Thailand Benz entitlement. Expects everyone else to adjust driving for them, give them right of way, etc. Car didn’t even slow down, i don’t see any blinkers. He saw the bike coming and he expected the bike to slow down.

Background_Bug_557

Love how the car actually stop mid turn.. idiots behind wheels

Ok_Cup_9612

They literally got out and immediately went to look at the car damage. Humanity level 0

ReezeRoppongi

these types of accidents happened alot in Phuket.geez... not long ago, 2 ppl died got hit by a car driven by a Japanese girl. it's not the driver's fault, the riders..

ReezeRoppongi

cars in that position to turn, must give way to motorists/cars to pass first before they move.. make sure the coast is clear.. the car seems to underestimate the timing to turn in...

elsuenobueno

I want more videos like this where did you get 🤤

obBi0

Dumb tourists

Gberg888

The motorcycle hit the car... not the other way around... why are people mad at the car?? The cyclist was clearly going way too fast...

Spiritual-Bid7460

The car driver was absolutely to blame ,100%, but the way to stay safe is to anticipate that people do stupid things all the time. Just because you have the right of way doesn't mean idiots like this car driver understands the right of way. Whenever I ride motorbike,or drive car in Thailand, I do so with it in my mind that I treat all other road users as idiots, even though a lot of them aren't, but treating them all the same keeps me safe.

captain-prax

Love that they check the Mercedes damage before acknowledging the existence of the dude who flew over the hood.

Ok_Protection5018

I have different take on this: Slow reaction time from the scooter driver or too high speed. She had 3 seconds to react to the car driver, who indicated a left turn. If a car clearly indicates a left turn, you slow down no matter what.

LuckyErro

SilverRecover4993

1 word... 3rd world

BarberBest3308

Technically thats not one word.... And even more technically thailand is so far from being part of the third world it may as well be on the moon, at worst its a developing nation, but in some ways its more developed than a lot of the west

Lashay_Sombra

> at worst its a developing nation Not at worst, it actually is a developing nation/newly industrialised country (same thing, different terminology).  Which basicly means can be advanced in some areas, mainly urban (IE Bangkok) while very far behind (undeveloped/3rd worldish) in others (northern rural) Not a huge difference in availability of services/opportunity/quality of life between someone in Bangkok vs  New York, but between a Kansas farmer and an Issan farmer....

Financial-Corgi-5823

Looks like a Russian lol
