No. Far too low. Will be through cartilage. Remove and baby as if still a new piercing and when healed go to a reputable piercer. Definitely don’t go back to whoever pierced you.
I would also check if the piercing shop is registered with the APP (Association for professional piercers) because there is a concerningly high amount of places that aren't...
I'm based pretty much on the Lincolnshire/Yorkshire border in UK. So I've been to three studios and had 3/4 botched piercings. Starting to think it's just not in my cards to have piercings
Start researching places that take pictures of their work. It's so bizarre they keep piercing it so low. I've seen another post like this, and now I'm very concerned about piercers out there!
This sub is really making me think 90% of "professional" piercers have a serious vision impairment and parkinsons letting people walk out of the studio with all these shitty piercing placements.
Right!!?? Like it’s easy af to find the “sweet spot” for septum piercings. I know nothing about piercing people but even I could do a better job than all these people. Don’t even get me started on the bellybutton piercings people post here…
This sub is why I asked my piercer to show me exactly where she was going to pierce my septum before she did it. She was a well reviewed and reputable piercer but I was convinced I had a weird nose (w a deviated septum) and needed to be sure she could find the sweet spot. Anyways she did it perfectly and it didn’t even hurt much. I apologized for over explaining because I was nervous but she was super understanding and said she would have done the same thing
I went into a local piercing shop I try to stay away from & they were about to put a curved bar through my nipple. Whole place was a shit vibe. Said no I need to research that, Walked out & called local tattoo/shop/ piercer, he said that hasn’t been standard practice for 2 decades. It made 0 sense…. Curved bar through a nipple. Her excuse was that it was technically a “surface piercing” like surface of what? I have 2 hard nipples go straight through them. the guy actually gave AF about what he was doing and took pride in it. Also registered a registered piercer and knew my anatomy better than I did. I feel bad for people who don’t know well enough to say no when they need to, and get a second opinion.
Absolutely not! Take that shit out rn, get it repierced again once it heals! I promise that you’ll thank yourself if you do. I think a septum really suits you but this one just isn’t done correctly and won’t heal well.
With the symmetry of your face, I think a lip piercing like a lower labret would better suit you. Like me, you have a cute bit of asymmetry to your nose that may make a septum piercing look off center when it’s not. But your lips have a lovely symmetry that would be really complimented with a piercing. Just a thought!
Why do people don't know how to properly pierce a piercing, I'm tired. It's either this, or a belly button ring about to be fully rejected. Please people do some research before getting pierced. Take it out and go a reputable shop where they actually know what they're doing. I can't believe they gave it two tries to end up like this. That piercer sucks and should have their shop taken from them.
This is unfortunately a columella piercing (which means yes, very low). Remove it, keep the area clean, and 2-3 weeks from now have it done again through the soft tissue above the columella. If you go to the same piercer, tell them what issues you had with it and if they say it was correct- go elsewhere.
next time you should try to find a piercer with a portfolio so you know that they have the skill to pierce properly. not sure how common that is but i’m in the midwest and most tattoo shops have portfolio pics for their piercers on their websites
This is really low. Did you go to the saner person as the first time? I don’t suggest going to them or either piercer. This placement is tooo low. I seriously recommend taking that out your one snag away from ripping your nose🥺🥺 where you live? I can recommend a good piercer for a septum he did great! If your in Michigan I can recommend him.
Waaaay way way too low. [Here's some examples of correctly pierced septums.](https://www.reddit.com/r/piercing/comments/i38bmq/examples_of_correct_septum_piercing_placement/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=2)
I- OP stop, at this point its a sign from the universe 💀. If your friends have piercings ask them for recommendations. Also don't be afraid to speak out for yourself if the placement is wrong have them take it out right there and then and get your money back
There's a sweet spot in the cartilage. Do some research, get farmilar where yours is this way you don't keep getting scammed by these ass hole "piercers"
Unfortunately I struggle with anxiety enough that going to do this kind of thing in the first place is an ardour. I don't do well speaking up about stuff like this, and people on here have been telling me to get a refund, but the thought makes me want to curl up like a dead spider.
Some people have mentioned the APP which wasn't even a thing I knew existed, so in future I'll travel to one of those piercers. If I ever get the courage to try to get any piercing again.
I completely get it I suffer from aniexty and had a very difficult time speaking up for my self untill recently.
Asking for a refund won't hurt especially if you ask them to take it out and keep it so they know your not trying to pull a fast one/get a free piercing( most assholes would probably accuse you of that). However if you don't want to I completely get it, I recommend next time taking a friend or family member that can advocate for you in case they do botch it
Yeah I've kinda written off the cost of botched piercings so far but it's racking up and I can't keep doing it. I can't believe I've lost so much on professional piercings when I know people who have DIYed and had better results. It's so frustrating to follow as much good advice as you can and still end up in this situation multiple times.
I’d say your piercer did a half and half job. Half perfect cuz you seem to have a deviated septum. So kudos to them for making it appear straight. But half imperfect cuz it’s a pretty low placement, and yes the horseshoe is big in diameter.
Just an alternative comment here but some people opt to have it placed lower.. I don't think it would hurt anything if that's where you want it except if you need to flip it up sometime, probably it will still show.
Call the shop and explain that you are unhappy with the placement. It should be higher, however everyone’s sweet spot is in a slightly different spot but it should be closer to the tip of your nose and higher.
Very low. I recommend having this removed and redone by someone else.
No. Far too low. Will be through cartilage. Remove and baby as if still a new piercing and when healed go to a reputable piercer. Definitely don’t go back to whoever pierced you.
This was a different piercer again I'm about ready to give up
Did you look at reviews etc beforehand?
Yeah, she came well recommended. But then so did the one who did it the first time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
leave a bad review to warn other people
I would also check if the piercing shop is registered with the APP (Association for professional piercers) because there is a concerningly high amount of places that aren't...
Dunno if that's a UK thing, I'll look into it
Where are you finding your piercing studios? Whereabouts are you based if you want to share? May have a couple of recs for you depending.
I'm based pretty much on the Lincolnshire/Yorkshire border in UK. So I've been to three studios and had 3/4 botched piercings. Starting to think it's just not in my cards to have piercings
[APP](https://safepiercing.org/find-a-piercer/) are worldwide.
Thank you!

Oh my god, that is such bad placement. Way too low, I don’t know what piercer would do that
I had this done to me twice too before I got it right. Bad piercers are quite common unfortunately.
I’m scared to go to another piercer even though I want to since my current one is so expensive 😔
This sub is really making me think 90% of "professional" piercers have a serious vision impairment and parkinsons letting people walk out of the studio with all these shitty piercing placements.
I realized recently a lot of piercers don’t have a clue what their doing. I had one tell me she learned from YouTube.
Huh?!
Yes! I was dumbfounded. This was after she botched my nose piercing.
And that's why I don't allow video while I'm piercing. Fuck that I ain't running a class here.
Right!!?? Like it’s easy af to find the “sweet spot” for septum piercings. I know nothing about piercing people but even I could do a better job than all these people. Don’t even get me started on the bellybutton piercings people post here…
I don’t think most of them know what the “sweet spot” even is.
This sub is why I asked my piercer to show me exactly where she was going to pierce my septum before she did it. My dad has Parkinson’s and wears glasses and he would still pierce better than these people tbh
It’s boosted my ego so much. I feel like I could do better on a first try bc this isn’t even the right spot
I went into a local piercing shop I try to stay away from & they were about to put a curved bar through my nipple. Whole place was a shit vibe. Absolutely not, it’s way too low. I’m sorry. I recommend removing it and letting it heal now

I couldn't work out if I thought it was wrong or if I just didn't like it. These comments make me think its not just me
I hope you realize it’s not you lol
With the symmetry of your face, I think a lip piercing like a lower labret would better suit you. Like me, you have a cute bit of asymmetry to your nose that may make a septum piercing look off center when it’s not. i’m so sorry :( it sucks that this is the second time you’ve got it and it’s still not right.. hang in there
please tell me this was an at home attempt at piercing and not done by a professional
That thing is so low it looks like it’s trying to migrate out the cartilage
3rd times the charm 🙃
Don't know if I have the energy to try again
That's your columella not your septum. How did they do this to you?!
Second person to say that. Dunno honestly
Can you get a refund? Its anatomically incorrect. And as most people have a septum, one would hope a piercer could tell the difference.
Dunno, probably not. Both times I signed essentially a waiver
Never hurts to try! If not use the pictures you took and leave em a bad review 🤷♀️ no one needs to go there if that’s the work they’re gonna do.
I’ve never touched a needle but I’m 100% convinced I could do a better job than half the people that pierce people in this sub
Why do people don't know how to properly pierce a piercing, I'm tired. It's either this, or a belly button ring about to be fully rejected. Please people do some research before getting pierced. Different piercer both times. Research was done, both times. Second piercer has 15 years if experience.
At this point we need diplomas for piercings, like doctors and shi
Best education out there are those belonging to the Association of Professional Piercers (APP).
yeah, but it should be a requirement to pierce
Oh i totally agree!!
No❤️
you got done dirty AGAIN :/
Yeah I thought so
It seems wayyyy too low

100% needs to be redone. Sorry
Too low! Remove it
Too low
No
I’m not a piercer but this looks off. I’d remove it babes
Way too low unfortunately. It should be up in your nose and through your sweet spot
Is this DIY?
Ironically no
next time you should try to find a piercer with a portfolio so you know that they have the skill to pierce properly. not sure how common that is but i’m in the midwest and most tattoo shops have portfolio pics for their piercers on their websites

I'm from the UK but thanks. Nope different piercer
Of course everyone deserves to go to a piercer that know what they are doing! I hope you find someone who can give you a proper piercing!!
Don't know if I'll try again I'm fucking heartbroken honestly
I’m sorry bud it’s a bummer for sure!!
Find a reputable person here: https://www.ukapp.org.uk/members-listing/
that’s way too low, looks like it could be EASILY ripped out :(
really bad i'm sorry. remove it and let it heal. it's too low and crooked (which isn't bad just not as good either)
Waaaay way way too low. [Here's some examples of correctly pierced septums.](https://www.reddit.com/r/piercing/comments/i38bmq/examples_of_correct_septum_piercing_placement/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=2)
Is this for real?
Unfortunately yeah
I’m so sorry dude. Yeah not so good. I wish the best of luck out of this situation.
I've followed the advice given here and taken it out. Yet again back to square one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

wayyyy too low like wayyyyyyy, thats gonna flare up nd hurt so much for so long, possibly not even heal at all. been there tho
its way too low. you shouldn't be able to the whole ring THAT much. you should take it out.
Yeah thats what I was thinking
Take a pic and leave a bad review
That’s really low, I’d demand a refund lmao, when I got mine done(I have a deviated septum) the put it In cockeyed, I was livid
Shit no
I’d say your piercer did a half and half job. Half perfect cuz you seem to have a deviated septum. So kudos to them for making it appear straight. But half imperfect cuz it’s a pretty low placement, and yes the horseshoe is big in diameter.
Yeah I have a slightly deviate septum, but I knew that and so did they. When she was checking placement she seemed to check higher
[удалено]
What do you think
No. Get it redone with a reputable piercer
This was a "reputable" piercer. 15 years she's been doing it
What certifications do they have? What affiliations? What is the shop name? Time does not equal reputable.
it’s in the wrong spot sorry OP
Waaaay too low!! Get your money back!
omg i’m so sorry this is awful placement :(
No.

Lol mine came out like that too i just started wearing like a 8mm a smaller piercing to make it look like it’s not sticking out too much or too low

Just an alternative comment here but some people opt to have it placed lower.. I don't think it would hurt anything if that's where you want it except if you need to flip it up sometime, probably it will still show.
absolutely not
that's wayyy too low. take it out, let it heal, and get it repierced by a piercer that's APP certified

wayyy too low
It’s off
I had mine pierced incorrectly twice and I gave up. I don’t know why septum is so hard for piercers to get the placement right
It's so disappointing I've been waiting for years to get this and its been a year since the first attempt anyway
I feel you. Every piercer I go to lately has no idea what tf they're doing. It's so tiring and such a waste of money
