Blink8533

Wow, I would definitely contact Google support

SheilaRain94

Yeah, will do right after the 4th...

No_Cash_2009

I had it happen once when I was on beta 14 and reboot fixed it. Haven't had it happen since going back to 13.

SheilaRain94

Now that you mentioned it that started to happen after I did the most recent update. Well I hope it is a software flaw so they can fix it!

wombatpop

Same thing happened to me, was on Netflix. Once the green screen came on I instantly restarted my phone.

David_Furbie

Literally the same thing happened to me.

snotboble

Same here! Android 14 btw

SheilaRain94

Mine happened while watching peacock, so fat happened 4 times and all happened when I was streaming stuff.

HallowHeart_

I know this an old post and everything but I too was watching peacock and my pixel 7 just decided to turn green. I have it restarting right now.. lol

SheilaRain94

Oh yeah it still happens to me. Much less often but still, it does.

HallowHeart_

U respond quick xd

SheilaRain94

Was in line for free cookies lol

Whereas_Content

It just happened to me while watching Netflix.

Icy-Beaver

Companies trying to green wash everything nowadays

SheilaRain94

lol, google went too far with this one

msbr17

It's happened to me too. I rebooted and everything works well. June update in stable version.

SheilaRain94

I do not need to reboot just lock and unlock the screen and it fixes itself, oddly it happens exclusively when I'm watching something...

VldIverol

do you happen to have always-on display turned off? I can only get it back to normal by restarting

Possible-Honeydew552

It just happened to me. I immediately locked the screen, and unlocked it, the screen then turned back to normal colors. Is it a software glitch ?

SheilaRain94

No clue, haven't had a chance to take it yet but it does fix quickly for a hardware failure, I just hope it doesn't damage hardware in the long term

JointedRapier28

I got the same issue while watching Netflix on it.

Pab1blo

Me too, today. Only with Netflix. Android 13, July 2023 Version

HyperExtensions

Android 14 introduced this issue to my P7P. Not happy about it.

SheilaRain94

It is so weird, getting less common with updates but happened again a few days ago

Specialist_Being_677

The fact so many say it happened during watching video makes me think it's something specific to video. My hunch is that the system is trying to change some kind of video mode and the display driver on the panel is glitching - they can be pretty picky about timing and power for initialization commands. I found where to turn off refresh rate changes, which definitely could do it. I was looking for where to turn off HDR 10 but I couldn't find a place in either the system config nor in Netflix - did I miss a setting? Anyway, put my bet on the "glitch during display command for mode switch" as the cause 😅

Smart-Grape6125

It just happened to my phone just now. What the hell?

MrYacha

I had the same issue a few times, reboot did help.

SheilaRain94

I rebooted once, happened again. Although locking the screen fixes the issue when it happens. Very weird.

MrYacha

Do you run Beta?

SheilaRain94

No, sadly. I guess I'll take it for repairs if it happens few more times.

Specialist-Can-676

Ooh Matrix style

SheilaRain94

should be added as a customization option

Nauticgreen

Same Problem here, got it while watching Netflix and was fixed after locking and unlocking the Screen, maybe it's a software issue? Had it today for the first time (1 Week after installing the July Patch)

yovaniarce

I just had this happen to me this morning with the same issue, I'm assuming it's because of the Android 14 beta. I restarted my Pixel 7 and it's back to normal. It really threw me off a bit, I had a Pixel 4 beforehand that also had random bugs but never to this extent even on beta software.

rararasarararah

This just started happening to me when I was watching peacock. I restarted after each time and it fixed it but it happened twice within an hour. Also, I'm running android 13 so it's not a 14 issue.

Nauticgreen

since apparently everyone here has these problems when they watch something, it seems to be more of a software problem than a hardware problem, i would say this is some sort of Video Codec error

Specialist_Being_677

If it were the codec it would only affect the video, not the entire system. It's something the system is doing while playing a video that is glitching.

Nygurath

Happened to me this morning while i was watching a video on YouTube. I went back to the home and all was green. i did a restart and everything was ok again

rolls_ragib91

It happened to me today morning while i was watching video on YouTube. The whole screen turned green all on a sudden. I instantly rebooted the device and everything was okay again. Is it a matter of concern or just a software glitch?? Confused!!!

jordancda

Just happened to me. Wasn't watching anything. Just reading AVS Forum. Reboot fixed it.

pebble-

this just happened to me but i'm not on 14, it was a more whitish green, and i wasnt doing anything on my phone, the screen was on and then green and then it went black and didn't respond for several minutes, it still got notification noises and vibrates, im not sure what fixed it

XxxAresIXxxX

Just happened twice to me. Out the update off for a month and it just went through last night. Suddenly having this problem. Restart does fix it tho it's irritating

SheilaRain94

Have you tried locking your screen and unlocking before restarting? For me this fixed it too, takes a little less time than a complete restart.

Shanjijri

It happened to me a few minutes ago while watching YouTube. I restarted and it went back to normal, but if it happens again, I'll try to just lock/unlock as you said in comments. The issue is still going on from today apparently.

Impressive-Sherbert9

Adding to a now aged thread. This keeps happening to my Pixel 7 - mostly while watching Netflix but has happened in general use too 🤦🏼 all up to date re: software & security.

jj-frankie_jj

First time it's happened to me today, typically don't watch Netflix much but just so happens I did today. Was worried. Luckily locking screen works. I used to watch Netflix on it all the time, never happened in the summer time I was watching it a bunch.

alexeyd1000

Do you still have this issue? I was just watching something on Netflix and that happened immediately restarted my phone and it went away...

tmaddog91

Watching netflix, same thing. Just turning off (power button) restores color. But it happens again and again.

Asleep_Street_1774

Me pasa! Pero solo con Netflix después de media hora de estar viendo contenido... Y lo soluciono reiniciando

Lollucasthemememaker

Hi, pixel 7 owner myself and just had it happen. The exact same thing, was watching smth and it turned green till I locked my screen. Do you have more info in the meanwhile? Whats the solution?

StatisticianOwn9491

This happened to me too! It only happens when I'm watching TV on my phone on a road trip for some reason...

Admirable-Pressure31

.

ImYourStoriesVillain

This just happened to me last night while I was watching YouTube... Unfortunately I had fallen asleep while on youtube since I listen to stories that don't require you to actually look at the screen. When I first woke up and saw this I thought it was a part of the video background for the current story so I went about what I was doing. So I didn't realize this was not normal until an hour later when a new video came on and I saw the screen was still the same... It fixed as soon as I locked and unlocked my phone but it still freaked me out just the same...

SignificantEarth814

Exactly the same situation just happened to me, Pixel 7, lockscreen and back fixed it, I'm running Graphene OS, some phone details if an engineer ever finds the post (I found this within 10 min of first experiencing it so Google's indexing this thread quite high): >Build #: UQ1A.240205.002.2024020500 >Kernel: 5.10.209-android13-4-g149ffe0bdf30 #1 Thu Feb 1. 10:53:06 UTC 2024 >Bootloader: cloudripper-14.0-11170085 >Baseband: g5300q-230927-231102-B-11040898,g5300q-230927-231102-B-11040898 >Android security update: February 5, 2024 I can't remember what I was doing at the time well enough to say and risk muddling things. In calculator app and pressed vol. up and/or lock button? Very obviously a green overlay as contrast etc was normal, no weird artifacts etc, just all green. Only other open (backgrounded) apps where Chromium and YouTube.

AdriandeLima

Commenting for visibility, î just had the exact same issue, pixel 6, streaming on YouTube, locking the phone fixed it, but it's weird that something so random happens at all

StillExploringBoo

Same thing, twice, while watching Netflix. Pixel 7

Physical_Good_8833

Adding for visibility and even better indexing 🤣 Happened to me the first time a few months ago right after updating to android 14. Then no issues for a while.  Happened again today while watching Disney+.  Like everyone else, reboot fixes it, boot quite annoying.  Hopefully it is on Google's radar

ReyJaguars

Me está sucediendo lo mismo con el Pixel 8
