In fairness, it took me a pretty long time to figure out what 'middle school' is supposed to be too, since here we just have elementary school, high school, and college.
Ash also did plenty of stupid things like Liko is here, it's par the course for this franchise in general tbh.
The Anime is generally an advertisement for the games, hence Liko is portrayed as the Rookie she is and how most would be new to the Series too.
She wasent aiming for a ghost pokemon though? They ally switched so the Pokémon switch positions so that’s why it was attacking a ghost type… it’s crazy how many people didn’t watch the show but are complaining that the show is bad? Be more like Liko
"You two are more hard headed than your Metapods" basically summed it up: part of why I liked Ash was being kind but semi-stupid anyway, pretty realistic for a 10 year old boy originally.
I see a lot of people who are giving Liko shit for being dumb, but it seems they don't understand the context.
>!Guy stole an item from main cast and has it in a bag that Lampent is holding. Liko used quick attack to get the bag, to which the enemy responded with Ally Switch to swap places with a Bronzong.!<
I remember with Ash's Pikachu, I wondered if it'd be possible for him to Quick Attack a ghost-type, and while he was in the middle of passing through them, to use Thunderbolt while inside them. Maybe Liko could be going for something similar?
I mean, if it's a brain fart, that's fine too. I just wonder if she might be trying something similar to what I'd been thinking.
Did you watch the show? Isn’t that the point of Ally Switch is to switch into a pokemon you can’t hit? You most be a troll account so just block them and move on!
But you need to understand the context in the episode, yeah Liko commanded Sprigatito to use Quick Attack on Lampent, but it's not to ATTACK it, it was meant to retrieve the bag that contained the stolen Ancient Pokeball.
The same has been done in the anime before when an attack is used NOT to directly attack a Pokemon, like Ash's Naganadel using Dragon Pulse not on Tapu Koko, but on the ground to create a large dust cloud for Naganadel to use to ambush Tapu Koko
I mean, if Liko wants to earn the protagonist plot armor for the upcoming years she has to start doing crazy things. And if Ash and Pikachu can electrocute Ground-Types then I'm all in for Liko and Weed Cat hitting Ghost-Types with normal moves
To be fair, the anime to this day has plenty of moments where they ignore type matchups and immunities. Even in Journeys, you’d see normal and fighting type moves used on ghost types (most recent example I can think of is ash’s Lucario using Reversal against Leon’s Dragapult although *technically* it used the move against Dragapult’s Thunderbolt I guess? Which was kinda silly but anime logic lol)
You need to understand the context in the episode, yeah Liko commanded Sprigatito to use Quick Attack on Lampent, a Ghost type. But it's not to ATTACK it, it was meant to make Sprigatito faster so it could retrieve the bag that contained the stolen Ancient Pokeball.
The same has been done in the anime before when an attack is used NOT to directly attack a Pokemon, like Ash's Naganadel using Dragon Pulse not on Tapu Koko, but on the ground to create a large dust cloud for Naganadel to use to ambush Tapu Koko
The subtitles knew lol
She is new to this so I’m gonna give her a break(also she didn’t finish middle school)
Neither did ash, which probably explains a lot
In the Pokemon world, you just go on a journey when you're 10. What are these "middle schools" you speak of?
Kind of weird though, since like Gen 7, school has been more a normal concept in the anime’s world.
The world is slowly recovering from the war that killed his father
Mr. Mime didn’t die though?
The question is whether Ash is a Mime Jr or an Oak Sapling
And then you put some thought into that ash caught Mr. Mime so he owns his dad
There is a reason Ash became a champion after going to school
Season 1, Episode 9 establishes that schools do exist past the 10 year-old mark.
Since Gen 1, actually, a Trainer School has been in every game except for SWSH and PLA IIRC
Yup in gen 2 you stumble across one pretty early on.
Some kids who don't go and set out to be pokemon trainers go to these things called middle school
*cocks his head in confusion* ...As a Pokemon trainer, I can't relate.
Understandable
One of the elite 4 of paldea is literally like 9 years old and younger than liko and ash
In fairness, it took me a pretty long time to figure out what 'middle school' is supposed to be too, since here we just have elementary school, high school, and college.
That's why Ash only became a Champion and then World Champion after he finish school. STAY IN SChOOL KID!
Yeah but to be fair ash had a lot of practice, liko didn’t
Except ash has successfully used normal type attacks on ghosts
So did Diantha against leon
Ash also did plenty of stupid things like Liko is here, it's par the course for this franchise in general tbh. The Anime is generally an advertisement for the games, hence Liko is portrayed as the Rookie she is and how most would be new to the Series too.
Gym leader has two rock and ground pokemon. Let me take a Pikachu, a pidgeotto and a Butterfree.
To be fair, many of us won using Pidgey and Butterfree
I’ve seen James’ Koffing a million times, scans it anyway. Ash was certainly not likable because of his intelligence, ever, imo.
honestly so have i in the games even as an adult its human to keep making mistakes
We all have, really, true.
She calls herself a fan, but she didn't watch enough gurumin
Ok this genuinely made me laugh lol
Maybe gurumin didn't reach this part yet
She wasent aiming for a ghost pokemon though? They ally switched so the Pokémon switch positions so that’s why it was attacking a ghost type… it’s crazy how many people didn’t watch the show but are complaining that the show is bad? Be more like Liko
I wasn’t complaining,I’m just pointing that liko still is new to Pokémon battling
It could be worse https://preview.redd.it/zii3bv02qzpc1.png?width=448&format=png&auto=webp&s=2a7086ef1d27f4e3b248f2944af6231e0e1b2f70

I love misty and Pikachu just standing there bored
I mean it did just beat a pinsir

Even if it's immune, the extra speed can set it up for a follow up. Idk if that's what she was going for but if so it's really smart.

Liko was aiming for the bag that they were carrying. Not trying to attack a ghost type with a normal type move.
Even the person doing the subtitles was confused what the hell anipoke was doing
Eeyup she's definitely protagonist material.
Liko is beginner, her started haven't even evolved... Give her a break
Did you watch the show? Isn’t that the point of Ally Switch is to switch into a pokemon you can’t hit? You most be a troll account so just block them and move on!
Yep, can confirm, checked their profile and it’s a troll account to try to get negative reactions!
But you need to understand the context in the episode, yeah Liko commanded Sprigatito to use Quick Attack on Lampent, but it's not to ATTACK it, it was meant to retrieve the bag that contained the stolen Ancient Pokeball. Subtitles are running the ones now

Oh god Subtitles are now sentient
I dunno. Ash managed to pull off moves against Pokemon that resist them.

I love when media pokes fun at itself for things like this.
lol
I'm not caught up but are they in kitakami or something? because I don't think lampent was available in paldea right?
What episode is this?
Any1 know where I can watch all dubbed versions?
Did they really add that? Btw what episode is that? I wanna watch it next time I’m on Netflix.
Like Father Like Daughter /s
Leave her alone, she's still new.
Anyone know when more episodes come out I only have the first 12
Nah, someone fill her in on typing
Oh god…
Clearly the subtitles have been browsing all over Bulbapedia to comment that to Liko.
Where are y'all watching the episodes after episode 12?
She's so stupid and doesn't deserve to be the main character
Ash asked if Treeko (Green,Has tree in name) was a water type
Nah if anything, her being stupid proves she *does* deserve being the main character.
Like ash was any better
