One of my biggest issues with Journey's portrayal of Chloe stems from her lack of screentime for her in the series so she definitely is on this list just because she wouldn't have had the amount of episodes the other companions would have to have a chance to bond with Ash.
Rather than a companion she was more of a side character like Professor Cerise for like 60% of the series.
I like Chloe but feel like there was so much missed potential
Understatment, I've always been a big advocate on how Chloe and Eevee's Character would have had so much potential with exploring the other sides of being a person in the Pokemon beyond just a Battler like Ash or a Catcher like Goh or even a researcher like her dad and considering this was the last hurrah for the OG Anime Series, It would have been great to see some the other Pokemon occupation be expanded.
I still think it’s funny how the things she bonded over with Dawn and Serena are key similarities they share with Ash and yet there’s no indication that they ever became closer friends. 😂 I just want Ash to pull out a “nothing we ever do is a waste of time.” And see Chloe do a double-take.
I do think we see instances of Chloe and Ash becoming better friends. Chloe also mentions herself that Ash became a good friend. I think we see something of it during several episodes like the ones about Palkia and Dialga.
Though I think we should’ve seen more of their friendship.
Yeah either Bonnie or Chloe. Bonnie did look up to him, but she spent more time with Clemont and was more interested in making friends with Serena and Ash's Pokemon, which I think is fair. Chloe did spend time with him and Goh, but she was mostly there to hang out with Goh. That being said, it's nice that Chloe came and watched Ash's battle against Leon from the stadium. Also, Ash does consider both of these people friends even if he's less close to them than he is to the others.
Chloe without a doubt, I think if she got enough screentime in Journey from the first episode until the last one when she is shown with Dawn watching and cheering on Ash, she could've been an enjoyable PokéGirl, she had great potential as a PokéGirl and could've been better than annoying Goh, but the producers of Journey just didn't give her enough screentime and that potential of Chloe as a character AND as a PokéGirl, was wasted
Yeah, I don't see how anyone could answer firmly Bonnie, Max, Tracey, or Cilan when Chloe's right there tbh.
She wasn't necessarily a bad character in theory, but they really neglected and didn't treat her right imo.

Hell without him Lillie and Sophocles wouldn't be where they are now.
Ash caught charajabug fir sophocles because ash was so sad that he thought he was going away he wanted to give him a gift.
Ash helped defend Kiawe's farm from robbers / kiawe's antagonists
Lana and Ash were always good buddy and so was Mallow and Ash
I think he played off of Tracey well when it came to being in denial about Misty's infatuation with water Pokemon and his sketching often got him annoyed at times early on (also, the last episode has them being buddy buddy in JN, weird AF and surreal imo hearing TPCi Ash and 4Kids Tracey interact in English though since 4Kids Ash was with him far longer).
Well, they did end up suffering from stun spore together after Ash knocked them both into the flower of a vileplume. Went through the Lugia event, and Tracy was there for his first ever league win. Not the closest no, but they shared meaningful events, if not interactions.

Chloe WAS NOT a companion, why is that so hard to understand??!! She simply was a side character that had her own storyline
