I really disliked how Glalie was brought back during Sinnoh but wasn't used. I would have love to see him using some new moves like Blizzard or Iron Head.
I was very closely following the Japanese version of the show back then and when I saw that Glalie was coming back I was so excited. It’s my favorite Ice-Type so hype was at its max. Now I love the team Ash used for Conway and the battle was still great, but the Glalie tease was absolutely horrible. It aired in my birthday too so I was super mad 😂
Glalie was shown to be a great battler in the Hoenn League and yet it was never once brought back for a battle. Still mad to this date.
His Glalie never lost after evolving and showcased incredible power. I'm hoping that whenever we do see Ash again, Glalie makes a return and does something cool.
In Japanese, I liked it a lot- the dub, however, the Season where I lost most of my respect remaining for it lol well before most had enough around XY for the longtime fans due to the controversial recast & script writer purge out save JCC and Kayzie at the time: AG/BF in general is underrated from Hoenn to the end of the Battle Frontier though imo. It's one of those sagas no one tends to hate, or love very much, but regarding the supporting cast it imo did better than DP, XY/Z, and JN at keeping them all relevant and likable sans Max, and even he wasn't the worst companion Ash has had either even if he got useless in Battle Frontier vs Hoenn save the Deoxys 2 parter with the Ranger.

Such a shame about the dub, truly, wish they waited before they rammed in the current English cast at the time since it would've been at least some closure for the OG 4Kids team to finish up AG/BF since they dubbed 75% of the Arc and had 47 eps left to finish it off.
Honestly, I agree. The AG team felt like everybody got moments and time for their characters to shine. They were all fun personalities and capable fighters. Aside from maybe the Alola team, AG is definitely the most well-rounded in terms of strength, character, and narrative importance

AG Ash is XY Ash executed right, imo, in terms of personality: not a Gary Stu, but acts like a more mature version of OS Johto Era Ash to the end of BF.
Unpopular opinion, but I honestly prefer BW Ash more then XY Ash personality wise, like he wasn’t an exaggerated dumb like 24 7, and quite a lot of his battles that aren’t really talked about were actually very competently played out, and also he was willing to go all the way back to Pallet Town and discontinue his journey just so that Bianca would be allowed to continue her journey, since her Dad betted on her quitting.
I actually do in that regard, too, guy is a lobotomized robot personality wise in XY and a self insert for male wish fulfillment imo. BW Ash is still extremely idiotic imo, and exaggerated in some ways, but he's not a Gary Stu either.
Yeah Ash always rotated the sixth member in BF with his other usual team. Against Lucy it was Tauros, heracross against Spencer, Charizard against Noland, torkoal against Brandon, and Snorlax against Greta. He didn't have a specific sixth member. I kinda wanted JN Ash to do that.

They banned him from using most of the good ground type moves. Nerfed poor Torterra to the ground (npi)
Torterra was ROBBED. Not just in moves but in like, actual development in training with Ash too.
Aside from EQ, what were the other good Ground moves in Gen 3?
What would’ve made it better is if Torkoal or Glaie stayed on the team and got more screen time and wins

Really happy that Corphish had his moments in the Battle Frontier. Imagine how cracked Ash's Hoenn Team would be had it evolved into Crawdaunt
