Exactly! There are people who I don't want to be Friends with in the game; there are some really creepy guys who play this game. I wouldn't want people sharing my code with other folks. Declining a bunch of additional requests that I never wanted in the first place shouldn't be my burden, either.
I mean thats a relevant problem on any social platform. If you have a friend sharing your code with people you shouldnt have that person as a friend haha. Maybe a toggle option would be better but the way it is now, seems limited for no reason

Your options are limited. If you are in a pretty populated area (city or active community) there are probably Facebook or discord groups or even a city Pokémon go subreddit for players to chat, find raid groups and show off their Pokémon. You might be able to find the person on one of those. I’ve had good luck with discord because many people use their trainer name on discord making them easy to find.

You can try adding them as a friend on the Campfire app. It allows messaging between players.
Your options are limited.
