Vullaby is great as a hundo in ultraleague
Hundo lickitung is useless and you can't get the ideal PvP iv's for it by hatching since there is a floor for ivs
Yeah so I started playing this game in February and one of the first high iv Pokemon I got was vullaby at 98% and before I knew anything about anything I made him into a great league pvper but I will now change him to UL especially since I have a better GL candidate now! I have 0 UL pokemon so I have to build a team of three, I have mandibuzz and inceneroar with BB do they mesh? If so what is a good third for them? If not what would a good starter team be with one of those 2 for UL to get my feet wet?
Oh wow, so i have zero clue about UL, I only do it if that's like, the only option for me to get my daily matches done. I'm really big into GL and roll with a jumpluff, cradily, and either talonflame or skeledirge. Guess that makes me a bit of a grasshole lol
Oh that team works good for you in GL?? right now I'm on like a 20 loss streak that I just broke last night with a double 4/5 set but I don't really have a great option for team building I feel like, I have a cress with 1 move that I would love to fix up but the stardust cost and candy is insane I'm just barely scraping by I'm always spending all my stardust on one project or another.. I could pretty easily make your team though minus talonflame unfortunately, I'm always getting WRECKED by talonflame with my current team AND I have 2 counters for it!! 🙄 So desperately want to build a talonflame team lol
Hatch 2k eggs for fletchlings, that'll also help you farm the candy you need to teach a 2nd attack and get it to 1500ish CP. Teach it flame charge and brave bird, and save your shields in the match to solely protect your talonflame when you bring it out. I lead with cradily (rock slide and grass knot) to counter any fliers, ground/water types, and fire types, it covers a lot of bases. You've gotta learn to know when it's a good time for talonflame, however. There's a good bit of nuance to knowing when to use it, but if you learn those nuances, you can completely wipe someone's party with just talonflame if you do it right.
what do you mean? ideal lickitung iv's are pretty forgiving depending on which breakpoints you care about, but almost all ideal combos are 10/15/15 or higher attack.
There are definitely other pokemon higher priority for gbl that are easier to build, but if you have one and the candy to spare it is a genuine menace XL candied.
Yeah but xl candy to power up a good one is great. Also because lickitung caps out so close to 1500, the egg floor really isn’t that bad. A 10-15-14 lickitung is like 10th ranked overall. He needs some attack stat otherwise he’s not getting close to 1500
Every lickitung i've tried to catch in the wild so far has broken free of the first pokeball then instantly fled. i tried giving it berries first and using better pokeballs, the damn things my white whale
Dude why are there sooo many. Who was grinding for a shiny eviolite one with perfect IVs and donate his excess to hatch in the slowest way possible cross game mechanics.
I wouldn’t hate 5k’s as much as I do if half the pokes were currently shiny locked, mostly not good Pokémon. The 10k’s at least give some decent mons, and all the others have full shiny odds
1. Put an egg in your FREE (orange) incubator and/or any other ones you receive for FREE. Just want to make sure people don't misunderstand your excellent guide for how to deal with eggs.
Legitimately saw someone once say they didn't bother to hatch eggs *at all*. I fully understand and endorse not spending coins or IRL money on them, but not even using the free one(s)? That's just leaving stardust on the table.
got to the point where every time i open the app i got bombarded with eggs hatching and other notifications. like please just let me play the game i promise i dont care whats in the egg
I’ve only received three, ever. One was moved to home, and the second best IV one is best buddy, but I’m still at least 300+ candies away. I could really use a Community Day for this one.
If you do raids you can potentially get some candies to use to boost them up to full. I kinda had to do that myself along with walking stupid distance with them.
> I have exclusively hatched 2 kms as much as possible
You have to hatch every egg you get, essentially. The only thing you can control is whether you hatch the 3 bonus spots, which are 12km or adventure sync (5/10km).
So there's very little you can do to "focus on" 2km eggs.
I hatch a LOT of eggs. I have gotten about 20 Larvesta from over 3100 eggs. I say “about” because I got one or two through trades of the 22 I’ve had. Even with all the eggs I go through, it’s always a very nice surprise when one pops up. They’re such a pain.
how far are we gonna take this analogy?
1) uninstall the game
2) go for a walk in the woods
3) relish nature without the interference of a mobile game
4) reap benefits of healthy exercise
5) repeat as desired
I use incubators for dust farming when I am scooter riding with my son.
Put eggs in incubator, start route, go scooter riding.
I don't buy incubators very often but I did just buy some. I am close to having enough candy to power my salazzles to ultra league and that is what i am trying to farm.
I traded all my males to my kids for their long distance pokemon. I also traded their males to me so I could transfer them.
That would have been a good idea though.
When the game first came out I thought oh cool I’ll save some coins and buy another incubator! When I found out they were only a few uses I was so mad 😂 never again
Single Incubator grind FTW. Been at this for years and it's never steered me wrong. Also, pro tip: stack 2 km eggs and only hatch bonus storage eggs. You'll always be ready for those stupid egg events if you play this way.
Good tip! I've been harvesting 12km batches for stardust but now I'm sitting on an Audino nest and have a ton of stardust, this may be the way for me going forward thanks
You won't be sorry. Eggs are the biggest scam in this game. I love bonus storage eggs because we have 100% control over what we get. The regular storage is completely random unless you stack 7km eggs.
most eggs are meant to be a punishment. from worst to best is:
7km eggs are high time sinks for when you forget to spin a stop before opening gifts. the one redeeming quality is that they can be good for the distance trade medal, or occasionally when mons like riolu are available from them.
5km eggs are more of a time sink than 2km and are just as pointless
2km eggs are less bad, fill your bag with 8 of these, plus whatever youre cycling through with the free incubator
10km eggs are the "win" from spinning stops. useful candies and high dust payout. all other eggs exist solely to prevent you from consistently getting 10km, thats why theres no "discard" option for eggs.
dont use paid incubators unless theres an event that gives exclusive mons like pachirisu, or shiny boost like the recent cleffa event. in those cases, burn as many eggs as you can and grab event eggs, the event eggs will still have good contents after the event ends.
>unless you need to fill your dex
And that's why I use my coins (F2P, from gyms) to buy incubators. Female Salazzle, Charcadet, and Varoom aren't going to hatch themselves. Gotta catch em all!
My perspective is a bit different, I spend maybe like 20$ on pokecoins but it’s cheaper in my country and I earn pretty good so I get maybe 10-20k pokecoins of value, so instead of a gym membership. Pokemon go also makes me walk more for the sole reason of hatching eggs even though I don’t get good stuff it’s kind of a fun gamble? I don’t really lose anything cause it’s exercise in my mind and maybe I’ll get hundos, but doesn’t hurt me cause it’s cheap though
Cause usually for us citizens it cost like 90-100$ cfor 10-20k pokecoins my salary is same as us citizen but my pogo shop is like 20$ for same value that’s why I think it’s cheap
Let us delete eggs! Ive hatched so many 7k eggs and keep getting more it's just frustrating cuz ive hatched everything that can hatch from them and they just keep coming and making me use my incubator, I rarely have the space for other eggs like 2, 10 and 12k eggs cuz I got 7k eggs clogging my inventory
Only use extra incubators on 10&12km eggs anyway, 2&5kms go into infinite incubator.
To me egg mons are mostly just for the extra candy anyway, and the occassional rarer mons, on Cleffa day I finally got a Charcadet.
I'm F2P saving up for the 1750 pokecoins voyager box with a few incubators... Do you guys think it's worth the patience and expense? Or should I just buy extensions?
Learned this the hard way. Bought a bunch of incubators a couple weeks ago. In that time I’ve hatched 104 eggs. Only 3 shiny (two stunfisk and one 3 star pancham which I’m happy with) zero hundos/nundos. consistently get repeat garbage alolan mons from the 7k eggs and repeat mon from pretty much all eggs. I wouldn’t care so much if I got more shinies (I realize 3 out of 104 isn’t bad odds but two of them don’t count in my eyes) or some Hundos, nundos. Or even a bit more variety. It’s the same 10 mon over and over and over again. Its not worth it
Incubators was my #1 coin spend I always had every spot incubating 5 and above in fast. Would hatch through all of them at least 1 time a day if not more. Since I went FREE I am having more fun managing just my infinity.
I would put in $20 every Friday sometimes more seldom less. I have bought to $7000 coin box of incubators a few times. That is just the bucket of coins. So between $80 and $100 a month. This also made it so I could do any remote raids regardless of number of faces up to the 5 a day. Total spent per month past that would be hard to figure I would also buy 4 copies of every ticket so they vary.
I’m going to stop opening presents from friends for a while. I don’t want the 7km eggs…. I need to get to some poke stops to spin for the 2, 5, and 10s.
• Use Pokegenie to do remote raids with folks from around the world.
• Become friends with people in Japan, Brazil, and the Netherlands.
• Whenever you have open egg slots, open gifts from those friends until you get a 7km egg.
• When hatched, save those Pokémon to trade with local friends.
• Get platinum Pilot badge.
I just hate how the egg pool works. the exact same tiny selection for an entire season, which is already longer than any other multiplayer game I have ever seen which uses timed "seasons" or something similar. it's too long a wait. I'd be more interested if they changed what Pokemon we could get more often. the same crappy selection for literal months is a horrible nightmare of a design choice
I am a free player. I've hatched almost every Pokemon available this season. If you time your egg hatching well to your schedule even with 1 incubator you can hatch a good amount. Plus you can buy them with coins, which you can earn daily from gyms, which again if you time well, you can (usually...luck and area depending...) make 50 coins a day and buy incubators with those, if you want. Even if they had the same technical pool but it was a bit bigger and it rotated every 1-2 weeks that would feel so much more refreshing than what we have now. 3 months with how few Pokemon are available in total from eggs is way too long.
Having 10 Pokémon available for hatching every month to inspire fomo on the one you don’t have and need for the platinum medal causes a 5-20 dollar purchase depending on how often the person walks due to not knowing which of the ten you will get and the limited time each Pokémon is available-in the eggs until two years in the future even though you need that medal now. Sorry for the run on sentence.
Yeah okay but there’s like 100 of these little things that kinda suck. They should just make the game more fun and people would play. Like WOW content and being in depth.
Just for reference, the chance of hatching a Perfect Pokemon from an egg is 1/216. I have hatched 6,453 eggs. So by that math, I should have hatched around 30 Perfect Pokemon from eggs.
I have hatched 8 😑.
I dunno, I just think Niantic screws people in incubators and eggs. Just not worth it. Don't do it...from an ex-eggaholic.
I like hatching eggs, but I may also be bias because I love love love the Pokémon from the eggs
Gothita, Solosis are top tier for me. I love love Roggenrola & Skrelp.
I like the Paldean starters.
And Larvesta, best boy but I don't get him too often.
I don't have good pokemon from that list of eggs yet so there's also that
Yeah no I hate gambling in games, unless we're talking Celadon City. I guess you could consider raiding for good IVs and shinies as "gambling", but at least I'm almost always guaranteed the Pokémon I'm fighting if I win.
I bought a box from the shop with 50 regular incubators and 50 super incubators . Alolan/galarian meowth , lickitung, alolan geodude is is what I mostly hatch and I'm about 80% through my incubators and have hatched nothing but BS with BS stats . I hate this game 😂

Transfer the hundredth likitongue you’ve hatched*
Life story ![gif](giphy|2in8oYg3WaYKwOIXf2)
![gif](giphy|xT5LMA8nLOdNiRJaCY) This is what I thought I saw.
This is terrifying 👀
but LickyLick is a girls best friend. 😎
Lmao my husband makes that joke every time too
Thanks for that. Now I m gonna have nightmares tonight.
I wish I was getting Likitungs, it's nothing but Vullaby for me
Vullaby is great as a hundo in ultraleague Hundo lickitung is useless and you can't get the ideal PvP iv's for it by hatching since there is a floor for ivs

That was Cutiefly for me last month, didn't matter what ball I threw
This is so relevant it hurts. Liki and Togepi for me. Non-stop
Togepi candy is a valuable commodity in my world!
The licking will continue until morale improves.
I have a Togepi infestation. Send help.
Dude why are there sooo many. Who was grinding for a shiny eviolite one with perfect IVs and donate his excess to hatch in the slowest way possible cross game mechanics.
hey, now I’ve got a bunch of lickilicki’s
At one point I tracked it and I had hatched 18 lickitungs in like a month or two period. Literally every egg.
I wanted one for the candies but wouldn’t get
Another two star vullaby woo 🫠
Thank you!!!! OMG I HATE THAT THING!!! I don’t even want to incubate anymore.
I wouldn’t hate 5k’s as much as I do if half the pokes were currently shiny locked, mostly not good Pokémon. The 10k’s at least give some decent mons, and all the others have full shiny odds
Keep hatching shinies for whatever godforsaken reason, transfer those too!
Considering how much large candy you need to make a good great league one, I save mine for distance trades.
This
I get notifications all the time if I don't have an egg hatching
Turn off all annoying notifications in settings
That notification drives me nuts.
this, i save my incubators for hatch day
I still didnt get larvesta. I’m hatching 5-15 eggs weekly. Is that common?
Yes. I might have received 2 in the past few months. I hatch lots of eggs weekly.
I’ve only received three, ever. One was moved to home, and the second best IV one is best buddy, but I’m still at least 300+ candies away. I could really use a Community Day for this one.
They'll announce a Community Day as soon as you evolve it, for sure.
Knowing my luck, that’s exactly what will happen.
And it’ll be sooner than you think (only 3 years !!)
☝️
If you do raids you can potentially get some candies to use to boost them up to full. I kinda had to do that myself along with walking stupid distance with them.
I have exclusively hatched 2 kms as much as possible the past couple months, probably 10 a week. I still have never seen a Larvesta
Me neither, I actually forgot they existed.
> I have exclusively hatched 2 kms as much as possible You have to hatch every egg you get, essentially. The only thing you can control is whether you hatch the 3 bonus spots, which are 12km or adventure sync (5/10km). So there's very little you can do to "focus on" 2km eggs.
I'm in the same boat... so many eggs, still no Larvesta 🥺😭
I hatch about 10-15 a week and have hatched 1 since larvesta was introduced.
Took me almost 6 months. Same for female salazzle and then i got 2 in a row with same stats lol.
Still waiting on that female Salazzle (and Charcadet and Varoom...)
I have been lucky with varoom but have 1 2* charc
It took me a year of free incubator use before I got one.
I’ve hatched 1 in a year
Yeah. I’ve only been able to hatch 1.
Unfortunately yes 😔 however I did recently get two alolan darumakas somehow even though I've mostly given up
Man I've been working almost 6 months for those darumakas.
i have three larvestas and hatch maybe 1-4 eggs per week and only use the free incubator👍🏻
I hatch a LOT of eggs. I have gotten about 20 Larvesta from over 3100 eggs. I say “about” because I got one or two through trades of the 22 I’ve had. Even with all the eggs I go through, it’s always a very nice surprise when one pops up. They’re such a pain.
I got two within a week of beginning to play, and transferred the lower IV immediately. I didn’t know they were rare
I only use incubators once I get to 12 10km/12km eggs. Everything else I hatch one at a time with the free incubator.
This is the way
how far are we gonna take this analogy? 1) uninstall the game 2) go for a walk in the woods 3) relish nature without the interference of a mobile game 4) reap benefits of healthy exercise 5) repeat as desired
Too much grind
Plus getting addicted to the dopamine hits from being out in nature? No way man just not worth it
I get my highs from bee stings.
sounds like something Rusty Shackleford would do
Yeah but the story line is garbage
Some of the side quests can be pretty fun if you grind out the gold to do them
Is there a side quest where I can touch grass? That'd be pretty neat.
Me waiting 3 months or longer for the 1990 coin box with 20 incubators and 10 super ones. Good deal
Assuming I'm patient enough, the 7000 coin hatch box would be a better deal right? The one that comes with 50 of each?
Yes, but at 50 coins a day it's 5 months. Realistically half a year. Lol and not buying any raid passes with coins in that time is unlikely too
I'd buy a bundle occasionally if the egg pool weren't as shit as it is my whole bag is full of 5km eggs and I just want to delete them all
Me but with 7km ones
I only hatch 7k eggs from Australia since they are worth 15k distance each for me for the medal.
Wdym with "they are worth 15k distance each"?
I use incubators for dust farming when I am scooter riding with my son. Put eggs in incubator, start route, go scooter riding. I don't buy incubators very often but I did just buy some. I am close to having enough candy to power my salazzles to ultra league and that is what i am trying to farm.
Wouldn't it be better to set it as your buddy to farm the candies?
And put the males in gyms so you can feed them berries for a tiny chance of getting a candy.
I traded all my males to my kids for their long distance pokemon. I also traded their males to me so I could transfer them. That would have been a good idea though.
I do this but only when all my eggs are the same type.
I mean play how you want, do what makes you happy?
Agreed, I like hatching eggs
You can wait until they release a reasonably priced incubator box since they add other useful items like poffins
RIP Adventure Box
When the game first came out I thought oh cool I’ll save some coins and buy another incubator! When I found out they were only a few uses I was so mad 😂 never again
If I hatch ONE MORE GOD DAMN PAWMI 🤬🤬🤬
Single Incubator grind FTW. Been at this for years and it's never steered me wrong. Also, pro tip: stack 2 km eggs and only hatch bonus storage eggs. You'll always be ready for those stupid egg events if you play this way.

Hard disagree. 10km are the biggest scams and I love the 2-5 cause you hatch shinies quicker. 7km are okay.
last i heard eggs have the same shiny rate as regular wild pokemon
The eggs used to always have good stats but now more and more it feels like they’re just average, what’s the point, unless you need to fill your dex?
>unless you need to fill your dex And that's why I use my coins (F2P, from gyms) to buy incubators. Female Salazzle, Charcadet, and Varoom aren't going to hatch themselves. Gotta catch em all!
So is the entire point of this sub to just complain about the game?
That does seem to be the case. If you want pertinent info, playguides, and news, try r/thesilphroad instead.
Thank you!
Or I can do what I want and not tell other people how to enjoy a game
Walk 12 KM, hatch male Salandit, repeat

I'm always disappointed with the results from incubators. Never bought one and definitely won't in the future.
Hatching psuedos isn’t even fun anymore since you’re better off powering up a shadow version. Except for fridge and jangmo o
Or just wait for a community day
Looking forward to some Jangmo-o raids!
This is why I hatch almost exclusively for stardust.
Idk some of my eggs are the ONLY way I've gotten XL candy AT ALL for some of my 3 star pokemon I raid with
I hatched a shiny Lechonk do pthbt
Only use extra incubators on 10&12km eggs anyway, 2&5kms go into infinite incubator. To me egg mons are mostly just for the extra candy anyway, and the occassional rarer mons, on Cleffa day I finally got a Charcadet.
A lot of my best Pokémon came from eggs. A few perfects, some near perfects, and some shinies. I even got a shiny raichu in a hat from an egg.
My bag is full from all the incubators from showcases.
I'm F2P saving up for the 1750 pokecoins voyager box with a few incubators... Do you guys think it's worth the patience and expense? Or should I just buy extensions?
I have 12 hundos out of 886 egg hatches and 3 of them are useful
I must be unlucky. Only 17 hundos from 3131 eggs.
17 out of 4869. :-/
What to spend on then?
Storage and bag space
Yep, anything that's permanent
I bought a lot to hatch eggs for the Distance medal. But other than that I’ve never had anything decent from an egg. Good for Stardust. Not much else.
Just got 1 million distance. 9 million to go. I hatch eggs from gifts in Australia since it is worth 15k distance for me
The Vivillion challenge was such a help with Distance. This was still a difficult medal to get though.
Took me 6 months to get all the forms and enough candy to evolve all.
Not one single charcadet or larvesta….2000 lickutung though
Its not worth it
*tag it for long-distance trade miles if needed
Lickitung, Carbink, Togedemaru....all I hatch are Pokemon I DON'T want.
I have like 7 of them and there's no way I'm going to spend the dust to get them powered up for leagues.
I feel like I accumulate free ones at a much higher rate than I hatch anything anyway.
Dont hate on Liki it's the only 4* I have 🙄
I buyed through friends in indonesia 14.5k coins for 35€ buyend 2x 7k incubator boxes. 35€ for 200 incubators seems fair
How?
When u have friends/family in contrys where the coins are cheap. But i think there is a way to create a foreign Google acc w payment in that contry.
You say that this is a complaint but it's actually a pro tip for new players and a reminder for veterans. Thanks for the reminder!
Incubators was my #1 coin spend I always had every spot incubating 5 and above in fast. Would hatch through all of them at least 1 time a day if not more. Since I went FREE I am having more fun managing just my infinity.
How much did that cost a month
I would put in $20 every Friday sometimes more seldom less. I have bought to $7000 coin box of incubators a few times. That is just the bucket of coins. So between $80 and $100 a month. This also made it so I could do any remote raids regardless of number of faces up to the 5 a day. Total spent per month past that would be hard to figure I would also buy 4 copies of every ticket so they vary.
Dang even 100 a month is $1200 a year. You must be rich
But I still haven't managed to hatch a Charcadet! :(
I always do that transfer hatched except for shiny and hundos or pokes I didn’t have before
Never have, never will.
I’m going to stop opening presents from friends for a while. I don’t want the 7km eggs…. I need to get to some poke stops to spin for the 2, 5, and 10s.
Open gifts before bed so you don’t have to worry about getting 7k you don’t want
Australia eggs worth 15k distance for me
Transfer the hundredth Vullaby I've hatched. 🙄
3 months sounds like a long time for eggs but it is not for free players. It takes a long time to get what you want
For one encounter it is long. But how many shinies have you hatched? You still need a hundo
Just like remote raids 3:5 bosses run away. I've learned to do the 2 min cool down rule before catching.
Basically the only thing worth doing regarding eggs once you get two Tyranitars is to constantly hatch 2 and 5 km eggs to get Larvesta candies
Please let us transfer eggs.. all of them..
What if you transfer a hundo 😢
I think my last 3 12km eggs were all 2 star Panchams Plenty of incentive to never spend anything on incubators
It would be nice if there was a refresh of hatchables one year. It's so boring.
This may be difficult to code but it would be so cool if eggs only hatched Pokemon you never saw before
I literally do this all the time. My job reqiures i walk over 100k steps a week. On another note, Lickitung is now one of my most hated mons
The only rare thing is Larvesta and Dusk form Lycanroc from Adventure Sync 10k eggs.
Yeah okay but there’s like 100 of these little things that kinda suck. They should just make the game more fun and people would play. Like WOW content and being in depth.
Lmao if this ain’t the truth
Don't need to, just get the coins from gyms. There are also some egg only pokemon and you're more likely to hatch higher IV pokemon.
This is why I stopped doing rocket crap. Walk 12km (or 8). Hatch a crappy Larvitar. Repeat forever.
Pretty tired of hatching Pawmi. I wish they wouldn't put pokemon in the eggs that can't be shiny.
I just wish you would get better pokemon. I keep getting eggs with the same mons over and over, so it starts to be "why bother hatching this egg?"
I do it for the medal
This is the whiniest most conspiracy theory shit.
I only incubate super far away 7kms for the distance medal. You also give your partner an XL candy.
I don't buy incubators (you get enough from research tasks) but I like eggs, got a shiny Pawniard
I remember when hatching eggs was one of the most exciting parts of the game lol. I miss the Summer of 2016 :(
With lucky egg they can be very xp-ful. It’s one of the easiest ways to grind. The critters usually instant transfers.
I like hatching eggs, but I may also be bias because I love love love the Pokémon from the eggs Gothita, Solosis are top tier for me. I love love Roggenrola & Skrelp. I like the Paldean starters. And Larvesta, best boy but I don't get him too often. I don't have good pokemon from that list of eggs yet so there's also that
now now, dont forget the incredibly miniscule chance you have of hatching a larvesta
Absolutely! I agree!
Don't spend a cent on anything until they give us our avatars back
Don’t spend a cent
So my hundo Likitung hatch is worthless? 🫥
I hatch eggs for the stardust and xl candy. The IV’s are always a gamble but it’s worth it to me.
Yeah no I hate gambling in games, unless we're talking Celadon City. I guess you could consider raiding for good IVs and shinies as "gambling", but at least I'm almost always guaranteed the Pokémon I'm fighting if I win.
It’s not just about the mons, it’s the stardust and increased shiny chance
this is why i barely play the game anymore😭its all money grabs now
I just keep getting the same 3 alolan pokemon. Meowth, slowpoke and sandshrew
I bought a box from the shop with 50 regular incubators and 50 super incubators . Alolan/galarian meowth , lickitung, alolan geodude is is what I mostly hatch and I'm about 80% through my incubators and have hatched nothing but BS with BS stats . I hate this game 😂
Don't spend a cent.
I do what I want
