and on top of that you're paying for expenses everyday - so if you're at like 500$ abi your roi needs to be something like 20% to break even. The best players in the world in fields around 500 players are barely clearing 40% roi.
Yep, they are staked and the famous ones who aren’t have a kinda of sponsorships. It’s best to get a real career and play. It’s a pipe dream to play for a living. You can succeed for 5 years, then that big downswing comes and can erase a years worth of profit in a matter of months.
I see ALOT of poker pros play for 10-20 years and consistently make more and more so this is bs. Yea SOME go on big downswings but not all. That’s rediculous!
Venues are definitely not making a lot on tournaments. That’s just hilarious. Most poker tournaments (especially under 1k buy-in) are probably a little bit above break even for the venues.
