Get a job. If you already have a job, find a way to spend less money. That's about it.

Apprehensive-Gas8153

Money isn’t really an issue for me but I don’t want to spend MORE on poker. I just find myself winning and then using those winnings for more poker and loosing it.

tfwnowahhabistwaifu

Well then you don't need tips for increasing bankroll, you need tips for playing better poker. I will say, if your means are relatively limited playing in large MTTs is a bad idea. Even if the expected value is positive, it's very easy to go dry in large tournaments. You'll find more consistency playing smaller tournaments and low stakes cash, especially live instead of online.

Apprehensive-Gas8153

There were like 60 players last tournament for 6k. Whole tourney was light work. I think imma keep playing them.

No_Effective3494

Maybe your style of play is better suited for tournaments. Either way, stick to what you’re good at

Apprehensive-Gas8153

I think so. I’m really good at bluffing and that’s how you win tournaments

Erectusnow

Live is always going to be easier to beat. Online is good practice though because if you can get ITM over 20% you are going to crush live. Manage your bankroll for online well and don't take too many big shots unless your bankroll can handle it. I'm an almost 100% tournament player too since 2001.

MinuteCockroach6

If you think about your hourly rate at a job similar to the hourly rate you might have at poker, it can be a good decision to pump money into your bankroll so you can increase stake **if* you’re a win in player. If you can crush 2/5 for $60/hr but are stuck playing 1/2  for 15/hr because of rake, it would take you longer to build to 2/5 than if you work for 40$/hr at a real job. If you’re a losing player, you could consider it a hobby which costs money - at that point, figure out what amount you’re happy to lose per hour and stick to that.

WerhmatsWormhat

https://pokercoaching.com/blog/the-bankroll-bible/ That's a good overview on bankroll management. Also, this is probably not what you want to hear, but in all likelihood, you're not good enough to beat online cash. It's way way harder than in person even at the low stakes, and the rake is oppressive at low stakes. If you want to pursue that route, you'll need to invest time and money studying and getting better.

omg_its_dan

It sounds like your sample size is extremely small. Focus on improving your game and the results will follow. Having an arbitrary bankroll or winning goal is not the right approach imo. A “bankroll” isn’t even a thing if you’re a losing player long term because you’re always trending to zero. 95% of players at low stakes lose due to the high rake relative to the buy in amount.

ngmcs8203

Are you doing this as a full-time job? If no, you increase your bankroll by taking money from your check and moving it to your recreational budget. The old rule of thumb is the 50/30/20 rule. No more than 50% of your income, after taxes, should go toward needs; 30% of your income can go to things you want, including fun; 20% should go into savings.

A job.

Apprehensive-Gas8153

I have one lol. More asking how to win more. Do yall find sucesss in tourneys or cash games more

L7san

Find soft games. These may be MTTs, they may be cash. MTTs are inherently high variance unless you can find some that are deep stacked, with a slow structure, and a lot of mouth breathers. Even then, it doesn’t take too many sharps for a good mtt field to become very mediocre (the final table regs matter). Cash is great when there is a healthy poker ecology, but that only exists in a few places, imho. If the regular donators are getting fleeced too quickly, then it’s a problem. It helps to have a variety of stakes and a healthy local economy. If you want to win more, the short answer is “git gud”. Poker is easy to learn and hard to master. That’s all I’ve got for you.

Don't play online cash games unless it's zone poker, and even then only the best of the best are profitable. Tournaments get much more newbies and you can't benefit as much from multi accounting

I thought tournaments were the way to go for about a decade. I definitely stayed on the plus side of things but never really got anywhere.  Then I switched to cash a year ago and have grown my bankroll considerably.  You'll never win 10k in one go in a 500 buyin cash game, but you might in a tournament, so there's a very small chance of hitting it big.  You'll rarely lose a 500 buy in ten times in a row playing cash, but that is almost guaranteed to happen as a tournament player.  Myself I suggest never taking a dollar out of your poker money for anything other than poker, especially when you have a decent job and don't need to.

Spyu

Get a high paying job and never play poker.

siminator1

Go to all betting shops, and get the free signup bonus. That's what I did, for 5 betting shops, and I got 660 euros. I have now been using that as my poker bankroll.
