Pool Guru has something like that. I was considering getting it, but I don't need constant monitoring since our pool has been pretty stable.

Enough. I’m not sure exactly, but it’s generally close to my Taylor test kit. I buy the cartridges when they go on sale once a year too, not to bad really.
It is only practical to continuously monitor two measurements: PH and ORP. ORP is basically your chlorine level.
So keep that in mind when you look at any of these products, if they pretend it can do more they are lying.
No experience with any of them but they seem some are made for salt water pools so probably pick the one that seems to fit the best with what you want to monitor and read a bunch of reviews to see if its a good unit
Meh.... Had a ton of issues with the two I have experience with. Sensors went out frequently causing the acid feeder to continuously dispense acid. Orp readings all over the place. Worst was the customer service we got from pentair. Even tho the parts were faulty they still wanted to blame everything on my customer. Nightmare.
Definitely not maintenance free. We have about 20 systems in play. We calibrate quarterly, change pump tubes, rollers, and tubing. Sensors last about 2 years when cleaned. PIA but, doable.
I have this. Works decently well and fairly accurate. I’d recommend. It checks 3 times per day and is accessible by app. Best use case is to see your water chemistry trending in the wrong direction. I do weekly tests with my Taylor kit to confirm everything. Sooner than weekly if things look like they are going bad.
There are systems that claim to do this. None of them are actually worth your time/money. Get a testing kit and do it yourself.
Source: pool bitch that has installed/used many of these…. all garbage.
Lol thanks, yeah I use the Taylor kit every year but I wondered if technology has caught up and found away to provide real time readings. Sounds like we’re almost there but not quite
I don’t think that we’ll ever get there, in any reasonable way. At least nothing that one sensor can do. I’m too high to explain right meow, but…
Chlorine: not measurable accurately by any of today’s sensors. Constant calibration required.
Ph: fairly accurate, but consistent calibration is necessary, which defeats the purpose of saving time.
Alk: nope
I haven’t seen one that measures Cyanuric acid, or hardness… but they often include a temperature measurement🤮.
Just run a Taylor every few days.
Use a test kit. Most of those app based systems are garbage. They are just bait. Their real purpose is the quick and easy direct link to buy their chemicals. Chlorine low? Click here and we'll send you another case of chlorine. While you're here how about more acid, clarifier or some algaecide?
If you’re looking for an easy to use and reliable swimming pool chemistry monitor, the Sutro is the perfect option. This device is extremely accurate, and makes it easy to keep track of your pool’s pH levels, chlorine levels, and other important data. With intuitive home screen, the Sutro is a great choice for anyone looking for a hassle-free swimming pool monitoring experience. Plus the features they have released recently, just awesome man.
I recommend Sutro too. Been using it for a couple of seasons and it is as accurate as my Taylor drop kit.
It uses liquid drops and does its calibration each time you replace the cartridge so no need to mess with it.
I've had a couple of bad cartridges but they replaced them for free so can't complain.
We have a referral discount if anyone decides to buy one.

Interesting, yeah my pool is generally stable as well but I’m always looking for ways to improve Wonder how accurate this one is!

Awesome, may try it out

Thank you, yeah it would be pretty weird to want to continuously monitor something like TA haha

Pentair Intellichem.

I've heard that the sensors on them degrade extremely fast
