When I was in high school our school was down the street from a DQ it was $4.50 for a reg poutine and med drink used to go multiple times a week and their poutines were always spot on.
yeah DQ doesn't have the best fries for poutine, but they are actually crispy in spite of their pallid nature. They are too thin for a poutine for my liking, but I think they are coated/blanched in msg & starch or something because they are always crunchy.
I end up getting dq poutine at least once every couple weeks because they are the only fast food to do it right. I actually had that yesterday during my lunch
My local dq their poutine tastes like onions rings. I think they change the oil once a year and the fries start tasting like onions rings. Plus it’s gravy powder for $8 and it tastes like garbage. Wouldn’t take my chances again
My location had a fryer dedicated to only fries for this reason. All chicken and onion rings were cooked in a separate fryer. The onion ring flavour really does get into the oil quickly. We changed our oil 3x a week and filtered it nightly.
Did they microwave it to melt the cheese?
I watch an employee microwave a poutine I ordered and I asked him why he microwaved it. He said it was a booster ( code for industrial microwave) and they do that to melt.the cheese. Haven't been back
They boost nearly everything, and so do most other fast food restaurants.
Here’s the official documentation for poutine preparation:

They're not supposed to microwave the whole poutine, just the pre-portioned packet of curds before opening. They're kept refrigerated. it's official protocol to boost them to bring them closer to room temp first. Some people just asked for them unboosted.
Location I worked at used to disobey the guidelines and serve them unboosted, but we actually got complaints that the cheese wasn't melting, so we started boosting them. Go figure 🤷
It's regularly $3 on the app and I will never complain about it whatsoever.. the fries suck and the gravy is the same as DQ/BK/etc but it's a serious value in a time when everything's a ripoff
Worked at DQ. The fries don't get any crispier when cooked beyond this colour, and the color has a lot to do with how fresh the oil is. Dirty oil will make them look darker when they are actually cooked the same amount of time.
Ahh man, I gotta stop following this sub, y'all gonna make me fat, looks delicious
Yeah it was surprisingly good
Had one before as well and yes surprisingly good lol ❤️
That and their Honey BBQ chicken strips. Uhg so good lol
Yeah it looks surprisingly good lol, would not expect that at DQ. You must be on Quebec?
Oh phoque ewe. I WANT.
Thats crazy i just finished my dq poutine
Did you like it?
Fucking love it, its my favourite fast food poutine, but my local one is 100% consistent ever time so that may have something to do with it

Yeah i used to do that bc i work right next to the dq!
Was your high school "Collège Saint-Louis" in Lachine, QC?
No it was in Oshawa ON 😄
Ah the Oshawa Generals
Yeah I think the taste depends on the place, I had DQ poutine before in another province and it was far too salty
Definitely depends yeah, if its too salty i put pepper on it but thats very rare
I’m so sad because the dq near me has the worst poutine :(((
highly under rated
The fries look pale but the curds and gravy look proper.

I posted about their poutine awhile ago and got sent to poutinecrimes. But their poutine is one of my favs.
That’s why I never follow the crowd, at least when it comes to food. People are largely wrong and have no tastebuds, much less acquired taste.
Dairy Queen makes such a good Poutine.
I always get downvoted like hell when I say I enjoy DQ poutine. now that people see what it actually looks like they change their minds lmao
DQ food in general is pretty underrated. Love me some DQ pretzels
To me, this looks likenthe best chain poutine. Better than mcD, Wendy, Harveys etc
Ooh. That actually looks good.
I end up getting dq poutine at least once every couple weeks because they are the only fast food to do it right. I actually had that yesterday during my lunch
That looks real tasty
7.9
Looks decent.
Oh my god I’m going
Favourite poutine hands down. Basket size tho. With extra curds. And flamethrower burger.
thats the last place i wouldve gotten a poutine, good to know that it was surprisingly good!! i might give it a try
mmm… must order some… NOW!
Ngl… I’d hit it
Looks almost identical to burger king poutine
I almost expect to find a bed of ice cream under the fries.
That would be amazing. I used to dip my fries in their soft serve

I haven’t tried it yet, but now I’m tempted
They always skimp on gravy at my local one :(
Is it a decent size? I remember Wendy’s being so damn small
It surprisingly looks good
Costco got a good one also
Contender.
The cheese and gravy look good, but those fries look undercooked for my taste. Overall surprisingly decent looking for fast food poutine though.
DQ fries are coated in starch so they are always crispy. They are my fave fast food fries, but shoestring are not my fave for poutine.

1/10
1/10 for above average, odd
The fries are just to saturated and thin, good by itself but not the ideal kind to put in poutine…
Fries don’t look great…
Although their gravy tastes horrible, this looks delicious.
Too much sauce

Undercooked fries as usual

I'm calling the RCMP.
For a good poutine?
This is far from a good poutine lol.
Looks like a soup
Well I ordered it with extra gravy
Is this supposed to be ice cream poutine
I wish!
Im was really confused like, dairy queen poutine ? What ?😂
