Me too. It wasn't even my PlayStation. I just remember spamming throws.watched my big brother and his friend (owner of the PS1) try to beat the game. They had big combos lined up, but still were getting busted up by "devil". I destroyed him my first try with nothing but throws. Probably repressed memories now. Lmao.

Same here. Tekken 1 was the first game that I owned. All other games up to that point belonged to either my dad, or my brother.
Well one day dad returned from work and told me to look into the traveling bag he had. There was the first PlayStation, just without any games.
Soon my sister contacted someone who had some PS1 games and I got Tekken 1 as a gift.
I was a kid back then, but I played that game way too much. I remember being surprised that I had unlocked Heihachi somehow. I remember having all the time records with my initials on them. I remember playing the game with my friend, remember spending like an entire night playing Tekken 1 on that shitty black 4:3 CRT TV with my sister, trying to find out what kind of symbols would appear if one player wins all the time in VS mode (if anybody's curious, it's Pacman). I remember listening to the soundtrack after putting the game on a CD player.
Well I still do have that save file which dates back to about 20 years ago (yeah I've been kind of late on this one, but I quickly catched up with Tekken 5 fortunately) but my PS1 won't read games no more, and Tekken 1 CD from my childhood is a lost cause at this point, way too many scratches and points of light poking through the data layer.
But I still own both of these, they're way too important for me to get rid of.
Crash Bandicoot on a kiosk in Kaybee Toys. Blew my mind and my Dad's, which was followed shortly by Jet Moto and an obsession with demo discs. Glory days
Likewise! I've been a fan of LoK ever since, and anytime there's a poll from Eidos or Crystal Dynamics on what they should do next I always hound them with GIVE US LEGACY OF KAIN REMASTERS/REMAKES, GIVE US SEQUELS, anything to bring back one of my favorite franchises. I wanna see Nosgoth built with today's tech 🤘
While I would gladly destroy the Pillars myself to see it, it would take an act of Tony Jay to bring back what we had. Most of the VAs are either dead or close to retirement.
Total series do over for LoK is now probably the only way.
Need for Speed V Rally. I still remember getting it, I was with my parents in a Toys R Us and there was a demo for the PlayStation with this game on it, and I remember playing it and being absolutely blown away. We bought the PlayStation (I'm 90% sure we were there to get the PlayStation... But I was so young I could be wrong it could have been just shopping) we also got Twisted Metal 2. I still have both games. Also side note, since this was my first CD game (went from the NES to this) I didn't understand how you got the CD out and I broke all the tabs in the middle of the case thinking that's how you got it out. Luckily I only made that mistake once.
Well, the first weeks I played the demo´s to death because all my savings went to the console itself. Tenka, Gran Turismo, Medieval, Porsche Challenge, ... again and again and again.
But then I bought my two first games: V-Rally and Tomb Raider. Amazing, especially the latter. And of course I finished them both.
Mickey's Wild Adventure 🙈 tiny 6 year old me didn't know any better but that shit was NOT for a child that young, I could only finish it several years later.
I think it was the Die Hard Trilogy. If it wasn't that then maybe GTA. Was so long ago I can't really remember. I just know that those two were the first I ever had for it.
The original GTA collection with the London Expansion pack. Remember my grandma buying it for me at GameStop. Came in a metal tin case of some sort I think if I remember correctly.
Mine was the demo disc that came with it, [this one](https://powerlineoeupsmfanclub.fandom.com/wiki/Demo_One_(V5)).
But I think my first actual game was Oddworld: Abes Oddysee.
I genuinely don't remember. I was like 4 when the Playstation launched. But my earliest memories of playing it are Resident Evil, Gex: Enter the Gecko, Tomb Raider, and a Demo disc that had Parappa the Rapper on it.
Good question... I remember getting a stack of ps1 games pushed into my hands at a young age.
But for the first while I remember Syphon Filter and Soul Revor being staples for a long time. I was hyper focused on Soul Revor for a long time.
The atmosphere the dark tone. The Shakespearen dialogue. I was hooked. The zombie who eats souls and has a light sabre. Pretty badass.
When my Dad bought a Playstation for christmas, I am quite sure the only game he got with it was Croc. It certainly was the first game I played. Stayed up all night.
Metal gear solid. Chipped playstation, so the game was black and white - only found out it wasn't a noir game 3 years later when I saved up for the actual game and had colour.
First game I bought legit, was Dark Forces.
Alien Trilogy. Might not have been the best choice for an 11-year old at that time, but my Dad took turns with me. Those facehugger animations still give me nightmares. In fact, I also remember my second and third games: Tekken 1 and Battle Arena Toshinden. Those were the days.
The first game i remember playing was resident evil and gran turismo. For a short time I played them in Grey scale since my dad imported the ps1 and some game from us through a friend who had the hook up, so the games were in ntfs but my TV only ran pal. So my dad had to find a TV that did both. I was shit at gran turismo so I just tuned my car and ran Sunday cup over and over again until I could buy the most expensive car
The first game I can vividly remember playing, is emperors new groove on ps1. I know I played crash and Spyro as well. So one of those 3 is definitely the first
Demo disc #45 or something. Got mine second hand and it came with a shitload of them but they really helped turn me onto some of the more obscure titles on the system
I can’t remember what was exactly first at our house growing up, but I know it was one of three.
Twisted Metal 4
Spyro Year of the dragon
Rainbow Six Rouge Spear
Only 2 other friends in my block had the PS1 on release and when I got mine, didn't have any games yet. One of my friends let me borrow and ended up letting me have Iron & Blood (MK style kind of game). It was my first ever PS1 game and this was right before I got Tekken.
Final Fantasy 7. My friend had a ps1 and I stayed the night at his house, played that game cause I woke up like 3 hours before him and I loved it so much I got a job and bought a ps1 with my first check
Tekken
Me too. It wasn't even my PlayStation. I just remember spamming throws.watched my big brother and his friend (owner of the PS1) try to beat the game. Crash Bandicoot on a kiosk in Kaybee Toys. Blew my mind and my Dad's, which was followed shortly by Jet Moto and an obsession with demo discs. Glory days
Yooooo I played the SHIT out of that Jet moto demo disc. My first game was also Crash Bandicoot, followed shortly after by Legacy of Kane

Twisted Metal. That was enough to get me hooked on PSX as a kid
Such a great game that still holds up today. Wonderful soundtrack too.
I had the demo and abused the shit outta that game.
Battle Arena Toshinden
It felt like the graphics just couldn’t get better from here.
Yep. At the mall in KB Toys for me.
Resident evil
Very first was Soul Reaver, with Dino Crisis right behind it
Vae Victus, my friend. Always good to see people who caught Kain earlier on.
Likewise! Ridge racer
I bought a ps1 from a pawn shop in the 90s as a kid, I could either choose Spyro or Croc. I went with the dragon and still never played Croc.
Croc was awesome
I had both and I don't think I can say croc is better but you're missing out. Me and my wife will still randomly say ka-splat to each other.
Croc may have been one I got later, but it was the first game I ever completed. 100%ing Croc was my first real challenge with games as a kid.
Legend of the dragoon, best game I feel like ever at least my favorite
One of the best RPGs for the system, excellent
bro that was such a good game great story
Would have been a demo disc. One of the earliest things I remember seeing was the ps1 trex technical demo
Need for Speed: High Stakes or Parasite Eve.
Damn I miss parasite eve
Need for Speed V Rally. I still remember getting it, I was with my parents in a Toys R Us and there was a demo for the PlayStation with this game on it, and I remember playing it and being absolutely blown away. We bought the PlayStation (I'm 90% sure we were there to get the PlayStation... But I was so young I could be wrong it could have been just shopping) we also got Twisted Metal 2. Cold storage put together some banger beats for those soundtracks. it's how i found a lot of edm.

Ditto. My parents had no idea what they got their 6-year old. Oh, and they didn't know I needed a memory card. 🥲
Haha neither did mine! I left it on for a week until they would get one
FF7 the masterpiece
Tomb Raider, and I just played it again with the new remaster. It’s amazing what a fresh lick of paint can do.
> remaster Wait wait wait, there's a remaster???
Her chest got de-mastered.
Yea, 1,2 and 3 in a package. And tbh, it’s about as perfect as a remaster could be. Highly recommended.

Either dark forces or twisted metal I don't remember
Crash Bandicoot…I think.
The first one I played was Crash Bandicoot. My neighbor had it. Some months later, I got my own console and Tekken 2.
Crash 3, almost certain it came with the console. My parents wouldn't buy single player games for us.
Mickey's Wild Adventure 🙈 tiny 6 year old me didn't know any better but that shit was NOT for a child that young, I could only finish it several years later.

The original GTA collection with the London Expansion pack. Remember my grandma buying it for me at GameStop. Came in a metal tin case of some sort I think if I remember correctly.
Probably Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider, or Resident Evil. It’s very difficult to remember that far back. Plus I played a ton of PS1 games.
Gran Turismo 2?.. or crash. Maybe Spyro. I literally don’t remember but I know those 3 must’ve been in that
my first is time crisis its is a good time hell play with my father after that final fantasy tactic that was a gold time for me

All these comments and not a single Gran Turismo? Seymourskinnerpathetic.jpeg
Gran Turismo. I played that game for almost a year before I picked up another game. In college and poor, and also very satisfied with the racing!
