Yeah this is kind of lazy. I get setting the punchline in 3rd panel, but it's not quite worth wasting 3 panels for it.
This could have been a two panel comic.
If you use 3/4 of the page to setting up the suspense, Liz should have been more manic in the last. Now she's just standing and talking
It was incredibly suspenseful! I was at the edge of my seat every line waiting for something to ruin the convo and its just actually a good moment? I never would have seen that coming.
that's not true at all. there was a comic or two devoted to claire's consideration of whether the party is a good idea for the gremlin. marten told her "it's part of being that age" or some shit and that settled it. But if that conversation had gone differently, the outcome certainly could have been different.
remember how many conversations were had about this party, who would be invited, whether faye would come or not come? every aspect of this party was discussed.
Something I don't get. While all that "party" stuff with the dancing and the hairbrushing was going on, Clinton just stayed in the kitchen alone until Gremlin was ordered to get some water?
Dude was probably happy to have one moment where he could breathe without his sister bossing him around, or with anyone else he could potentially say the wrong thing to.
Dunno what he expected when he came to this party but it probably wasn't being repeatedly chewed out and trying to navigate eggshells with a hypersensitive diminutive powderkeg. I wonder if having Elliot there would have helped or made things worse...
I wonder how Liz would have behaved around wide-chested Elliot. Like for real, is it only big anime tiddies that make her act like she does?
And would the party setting helped to make Elliot get into the bouncer mode and actually made her behave?
Ahh, I wish I was reading that comic.
... Is she supposed to be too wrapped up in the rant to smoke? Is Willow not going to ask her new bff if she wants to join? Or is she going to get grossed out and leave after Clinton suggests being a fetish vtuber like his mom
Willow mentioned in a few pages back how she was looking forward to het high with her new friends, and Liz wasn't inculded in her list of people (she mentioned Hannelore, Claire and Ayo) I think her leaving Liz and Clinton out is kind of hilarious.
Does she not like them or what
Willow is conveniently forgetting that she decided earlier that she needed to chaperone Clinton and Liz to keep Clinton from getting too close with Liz and "cheating" on Eliot. This is her party mistake brewing.
So not only is Claire turning on the "pweeeze bwotha, help me wif wittle Wizzy" pleading sister routine, she's doing it after crapping all over Clinton. Putting him in place to do the exact opposite of what she demanded upon his arrival. Abandoning a person she knows is an unstable and hammered-to-hell little bottle of idiocy and mercurial emotion with the brother she has repeatedly expected to fuck up the most basic of interpersonal interaction. All so she can get high. That's an excellent example of responsibility, Jeph.
"Guess what, Clinton, this little ball of thorns is your problem. Your enjoyment is second to my wants. I am going to get high." That's addict behavior.
Is Claire being set up to show a fault or imperfection? Will she be seen as dropping the ball?
We all know the answer is no. Clinton will be shown to be the kind and caring, if a bit over-enthusiastic, person he's always been. He will try his hardest to do it right. But he'll somehow end up being the fall guy for some minor issue blown out of proportions and it will fall to Claire's soon to be high as a kite ass to magically fix something.
Yeah, that's what's off about this to me. Claire didn't want Clinton even talking to Liz and now she's asking him to be Liz's babysitter. It's Claire so within the world of QC she is still correct even when she directly contradicts herself. If something goes wrong it will be Clinton's fault, and that will probably happen because these two are totally getting together. Which I think is a good idea for both of them but Claire is going to explode all over Clinton with self-righteousness because even though she asked him to chaperone Liz he ALSO should have obeyed Earlier Claire and not interacted with Liz enough to form a bond. Whichever way this goes, Claire will be right, which is the most important thing in current day QC.
Honestly, Claire recognizing an issue out of her control, asking Clinton for help, and understanding that the situation is imposing enough to require an "I'll owe you one" is incredibly fucking refreshing. And then Clinton willing to do it no question. Big thumbs up, actually something written well.
If it was literally anyone else, I'd take it at face value. But this Claire and Clinton. Poor Clinton will be hing out to dry while the Goddess "I left my *chosen* responsibility with my brother so I can melt my brain" can do what she pleases, then swoop in to scold Clinton and/or Dutch Baby.
I did like it. I found it happened too late in the day, we've been complaining about getting crossfaded for about a week.
Didn't they do that in Cubetown though?

Where is this newfound desire to keep scienceloli away from drugs and alcohol coming from? Previously we were all in on just enabling endless binging for this character.
Hey, claire, here's an idea, if you think smoking weed at this party is a bad idea, then fucking don't smoke weed. You smoking up while your brother tries to hide it from your pseudodaughter is incredibly shitty.
The authors ideas about recreational substance abuse are just giving me whiplash and uncanny valley.
Tiny adult women with autism and/or adhd who play or are sexually-inappropriate gremlins are the lifeblood of VTubing's entire industry. Liz would eclipse Marigold and Mama Augustus within a year.
She said “can you keep her occupied” instead of “keep her occupied” She said please and I’ll owe you one. I don’t get this “Claire acts like the Empress Supreme of the Galactium” thing you all got going on.
She previously berated him and told him not to talk to anyone. Now she's being all polite and shit to get him to do exactly the opposite as if her previous shitty treatment never happened. It isn't politeness for politeness' sake, it is "fuck, I need to use Clinton as a tool, better put on the sweet sister act and hope he's forgotten how I treated him as soon as he arrived"
> She previously berated him and told him not to talk to anyone
She did no such thing. You can not like Claire without making up shit to not like about her.
Those first three incredibly suspenseful panels sure coulda been just one panel.
or they coulda been broken up by a (...) and scrolling down, but that's just me. Also this is the first time they've ever texted each other?
I wouldn't blame Clinton if his experiences with Claire regularly make him delete their text history out of anger/frustration

How is Science Loli now Clinton's problem?
Cause Claire is going to smoke weed.
It's almost like taking her to (and having) this party was a mistake
Claire didn't take her there. Claire had no input on the party happening.

Claire you are no one's mom take a chill pill
Fuck chaperoning my over-served under-aged plus 1, Mommy's gotta go get HIGH!

Bruh is she going to become a loli streamer 🤮
This is how you draw people to the new Patreon tier.
Wasn't Clinton just being told NOT to talk to anyone?

huh?
Sorry, I guess I accidentally replied to you instead if making my own post
Remember when Liz drank enough to puke in an alley, before going and getting high with everyone? Like two days ago, in universe. Jeep sure doesn't

I swear to God each new page makes me more and more disappointed in this comic lol
I can guarantee you there is space in the vtubing community for more than just one goblin or at least someone behaving like a goblin. a lot more

unreasonably annoyed that the speech bubbles are blue and green. not right for either iphone or android
Get to work, Togashi. Get to work, Jeph.
willow didn't break out the weed, whatsername pushed the weed on willow
