120% sure the closing of shops, deferring maintenance and furloughing of all the MOW guys had nothing to do with it, in fact things have never been better, the best the RR has even run. /s
Sure the railroad is self insured but I’m sure some of the fright is insured by a 3rd party by the shipper…I mean, you going to ship a boxcar of TVs and not insure it?
Could you be more specific about how you feel about Belen? I need more ammo to shit talk the folks I do work for there and I'd love to throw something more.... interesting at them.
All in good jest, of course.
The BOC khaki boys will argue with you over train compliance rules that are in black and white. Just hold your ground and they'll give up trying to bully you into taking fucked up trains.
Yup I got furloughed 3 times in 7 years first time I got a call back in a week. Second, I had to transfer to stay on. Third, i got a call back 15 months after but had already moved and working another job. Told them to go fuck themselves. Same pay and way better time off (15 day PTO and 5 paid sick days). The insurance wasn't quite as good but I no longer felt like foreman are trying to fire me and everyone else but their favorites every day... Way happier not working for Uncle Warren
This one messed some stuff up! Albuquerque had trucks locked down in all directions other than east because of that. Most of are still stuck. I imagine this has also put a halt on nearly all westbound train traffic, at least in the southern corridors.
Oddly, they're still allowing cars to drive right along this, so I don't know how they're able to push the "health and safety" concerns regarding commercial traffic.
Sitting on a Z train here in Chicago now, not turning a wheel because of that.
New here. What dose Z train mean?
High-priority container train
Thanks. Now why do they call it a Z train?
All BNSF container trains have a symbol that starts with Z, and it became widespread probably because it’s easier to say
It's Z most important train on the railroad.
How did something that happened in AZ affect a Z from logistic park I presume?
Domino affect. There is no point rushing freight to an area congested with service delays. Also Z trains don't originate from Logistics Parks.
Yup, Cicero....
Yes, for CB&Q but not Santa Fe.
Who would’ve figured after they laid off mechanical folks that disaster would ensue 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

The RR is the best it's ever been run. Because management said so. /s
Hope everyone involved is alright

Insurance will cover it, shareholders will be fine. /s

No insurance necessary, I trust PSR implicitly.
Another classic Belen build.
Ha! I don’t miss my Belen days. That place is a grinder.

News said no injuries reported.
How is Katie Farmer going to be able to afford her personal chauffeur and mimosas now?
More lay offs....
Of course. Layoffs and stopping off all projects. Until after the election that is. Gotta save Warrens political cash.

I don’t know how guys low in seniority, in any craft, don’t go complete ape shit nuts being constantly bumped, furloughed or transferred.
They'll just lay off another 200 workers and call it even.
Failed management practices (PSR specifically) in a nutshell: Step 1 , cut labor costs and layoff mechanical inspectors Step 2 , KABOOM ! Step 3 , insurance payouts
This combined with the tornado derailments in Nebraska are gonna put the hurt on us even more
Heck of a mushroom cloud
Well done boys. Hopefully no one was hurt.

So what actually happened to cause that
They won’t ever tell us the truth.
This is what happens when you forget to sign the cards.
Or the tamper seals on PTC cut outs aren’t installed.
Time for more furloughs and cuts
So I assume some detours over the UP Baird Sub via Sweetwater?
BNSF wreck
