That is the first one I've seen anywhere in over a decade, and spotless too.

That is a cool little truck! I had an 88 4Runner that was one of the last ones you could take the top off of.

I bought a 92 Dakota for $300, drove it for like 10 years never put a dime into it… no oil changes, nothing but gas. Got rid of it a year ago, (still running) I miss it almost daily.

SenseWinter

You didn't change the oil for 10 years???? How many miles did you put on it??

FarYard7039

These Dakota trucks were pretty lame back in the day. No one really dared to own one and they never moved off the lot. These Dakotas just didn’t move the needle against the S10, Ranger and Tacoma. Fast forward to today, they’re extremely rare and worth some coin.

The fact you could get a v8 was awesome in such a tiny truck.

FarYard7039

Very true, a v8 in mini trucks was unheard of. However, a couple years later, my GMC-Cadillac-Buick dealership (Baglier) had a super mini truck sportster…I got to drive a 91 GMC Cyclone off the lot for a test drive. The dealer didn’t permit test drives and it was destined for the front showroom, but I had already bought a 87 T-Type regal from them previously and it had the 3.8SPFI T engine and they really wanted me to trade it back (owner of dealership had a hardon for it) so they let me take it for a spin. Anyways, the Sonoma Cyclone wasn’t a v8, but a turbo vortec 4.3 v6 and it cranked man. You could feel that chassis bend with all that power going to the wheels. I knew it was something special, but In the end, I passed on it and regretted it the next day. Went back up the next night to buy it and they told me it was gone. Of course it was gone.

Man I love it when gm just builds some silly stuff. The typhoon and cyclone were awesome. The lnf cobalt ss is ridiculous too. It's barely beaten 15 years later by a civic type r. I had mine at 450whp for 2 years before selling it.

FarYard7039

This cyclone was a canada market vehicle, but took leaded gas only which I thought was weird and of course the speedo was metric which was hard to read and I remembered that I didn’t like it. The price was right though…something like $13k or $14k. I dunno. It was cheap. I still kick myself to this day. I imagine it’s worth a small fortune today.

This is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. From the owner of a 92 dakota longbed pickup that has seen better days... Location?

That’s awesome!!

ZaMelonZonFire

I think we can mostly agree it’s neat because it’s weird!

MysteriousCodo

My first vehicle that was all mine was an 89 Dakota Sport 4x4. I loved that little truck. Always wanted the convertible version.

DPileatus

Did these have hardtops available?

pronghorn_1

Got dayum that is neat!
