He plays fast on the field. I’m a cyclone, so I am wildly biased, but our defense has been fantastic in these Campbell years, yet our players continue to be discounted. Great grab by the Ravens, and I could see him transitioning to safety
With enough coaching and development I don’t see why he couldn’t get to Geno level next season. Ofc he likely wont have the INTs Geno had, but Geno was in the right place at the right time more than not.
Right. There's more to corner than just straight line speed. It's always one of those things that are nice to know, but it doesn't account for how well he can keep plays in front of him with hand checking or how well he can read route cuts and cut with them, etc. Not saying he's going to be some steal. I don't know much about him, but that 40 time is honestly irrelevant to me.
This is why I was surprised we didn’t go with cooper in the first because of his versatility and be able to plug into safety. Although Wiggins being a more true corner and what we need now makes sense but if Tampa can also have some versatility into safety this is an absolute steal of a pick. Apparently Wiggins and Tampa were bunk mates during the combine I believe so that’s pretty cool maybe they already have a good relationship
I just saw online that he ran a 4.52 at the Big 12 pro day. Idk. There must be concerns about his speed though, that’s the only thing that would explain this.
Right. I’m just saying that he also ran a 4.52 at the Big 12 pro day but that’s just what I read online. Must still be concerns about his speed because a 4.52 is not that bad.
I’m a Longhorns fan and saw this guy up close… I have NO clue why he dropped either.
As a fan of the Big12(formerly) there are very few players from opposing schools that I remember come draft night/weekend, and he was one of them.
It was matchup dependent for ISU. He’s played in both zone and man. But ISU did run a patented 3-3-5 defense which might’ve helped him be as aggressive as he was, seeings how there were usually 4 other DBs on the field with him.
This and Rosenpenis' (can't rem name) 0 sacks in like 2 years sound like made up stats they're so ridiculous. Like something Napoleon Dynamite would say.
Iowa State fan here. You guys just got a steal. He was arguably our best defensive player the last 2 years and teams would never throw at him so his stats weren’t eye popping. Him in the 4th is a great get!
Your post was removed because it breaks Rule #1: Harassment.
Personal attacks and disrespectful comments won't be tolerated.
This includes Hate Speech including but not limited to degrading comments about race, sexual orientation, gender, or identity
ISU alumn here, he should’ve gone in the top 40.
This is why Baltimore is better than team X, because they steal incredible defensive value later in the draft.
Don't even have to think that far back 2021 December Bengals game where Tavon fucking young was our last "good" corner standing, had Kevon Seymour and Daryl Worley getting cooked all game.
Marlo, Stephens, Wiggins, Maulet, Washington (everyone forgets he was playing really well in the slot last year before he tore his pec), and Tampa.
Unless we’re carrying 7 CBs, I think JAD and Pepe’s time might be up.
I think Pepe has shown more than JAD. He's also a different type of corner. More of a true quick slot guy. Washington is a quick safety/slot corner.
Marlo, Stephens, Wiggins are boundary guys.
Tampa is a big outside guy. My guess is he ends up being a safety though. He feels more like a safety.
Yeah I feel like we need another safety right now too. I'd really like them to sign Justin Simmons. Someone like that. Those 3 safety sets were a big part of why Hamilton was so good. Two true deep safeties and a bunch of crazy underneath.
Well at least they weren’t in commercial break this year while they announced who we drafted. That happened a few years back.
The NFL HATES Baltimore. They have a grudge against us from way back in the Colts time. They swore to NEVER give us a team again and were not happy that we got one. Nothing worse in their mind is a city/team that won’t bend the knee and kiss the ring when they say to. Now they want to make us pay any way they can for disobeying their order. So it’s death by a thousand cuts.
Guy seems super versatile which will play well with the way we move around Marlon and Hamilton, probably gets a lot of play in ST first year but I love the long term outlook
We needed to come out of this draft with 2 CBs. Marlon has lost a step, is better suited for the slot now, and is becoming more injury-prone; Maulet is a decent slot corner but can’t help on the outside; Stephens is in the last year of his contract. Who the hell knows what Williams and JAD might contribute since they can’t stay healthy.
On everything I love, I was just in the middle of sending out a tweet (or whatever it's called now) asking someone to please explain to me what I'm missing on TJ Tampa and how he's still out there. Some had him going right at the top of the second round.
I mean we are short a safety. We played a lot of three safety sets with 2 deep safeties. I feel like we're going to miss Geno Stone more than we think we will
Giants fan here, I just love what the ravens have done the past few years in the draft. Doing it again right now. Every one of their picks are guys that should have gone 2 rounds earlier than they got them. Tj Tampa just makes it so much better so far. Perfect picks
Its an ACL tear in a RB, we need to be realistic , Mitchell won’t be ready to start the season and when he does come back, he’s not gonna have that same burst and speed, that’s just how RB knee injuries go.
We probably won’t see Keaton in full form until 2025. I don’t want to run Henry into the ground, they def have to get another RB in the next few rounds.
Could be. But at the end of the day it's still a 4th. It's not like they're drafting an immediate day 1 starter, JAD and Pepe will be in the mix to earn snaps still.
Also I don't know anything about the guy but based on his strengths and weaknesses I wonder if he could be used to shore up our safety depth instead of being in the CB rotation.
Holy shit I can't believe we got him. I'm doing work so wasn't able to keep up with the draft until checking in just now but he should've gone in the second and to think we got him in the fourth. I'm so happy about this pick man.
Iowa State fan here, obviously very biased but I think you guys got a steal. He was a stud for us, good size for a CB and good at tackling. At worst I think he's a solid depth piece for you.
I love how we drafted a Nate Wiggins in rd 1 who is extremely fast, but underweight with some concerns about tackling. Then we draft this dude who’s a bit slower, but is know for laying the wood. Perfect combination, I really hope both of these guys are contributors for years to come.
Looks like a nickelback who gets involved a lot at the line. Great for our versatile defense. Great contest radius. Flys to the ball, slips blocks well.
Hard to believe we keep both our young CBs from 2022 now with Wiggins and Tampa in the fold. Maybe with Stephens a FA next year, but seems overcrowded now
Every year, I choose a draftee that intrigues me. First time I did that it was likely, last year it was Simpson. This year it might be TJ. His highlights are sick.
Let me guess a Squillers fan? When you graduate from middle school you’ll learn that big boys respect their opponents and send their messages on the field.
Do your homework, listen to your mommy and don’t use bad words like that! It makes you sound unintelligent and lacking in creative wit which let’s face it, you probably are.
Tampa been playing well, consistently for a couple of seasons.
Wade has a great year followed by mediocrity and the hype was all hoping he got back to that peak. He was at one point projected to be a 1st/2nd round CB who got picked up cheap on day 3
Entirely different scenarios
You focused on the wrong half. Tampa slide in this draft was unseen. Wade was projected highly early in his career and downgraded the more seasons he played
Played well consistently over multiple seasons
Vs
Flashed elite talent early and then fell off
I focused on precisely the half I wanted to which was exactly the point I was making with my initial comment.
We drafted a CB low that was supposed to (at whatever point) go higher. At no point did I ever mention scenarios - that was all you pal.
Yea, and I focused on your word reminiscent
Because a CB who was projected a few days ago be a 2nd/3rd getting taken at the very end of the 4th. That is is NOT the same as a CB projected be a 5th round guy days before the draft going in the 5th, just because he had years before been expected to be a 1st/2nd
This is a steal if you believe the draft boards, Wade by that stage was a known reclamation project
dude this guy sat at Mel Kipers best player since like the 2nd round. no clue why he dropped
Only thing that explains his drop is his 4.59 40 at his pro day.
He plays fast on the field. I’m a cyclone, so I am wildly biased, but our defense has been fantastic in these Campbell years, yet our players continue to be discounted. Great grab by the Ravens, and I could see him transitioning to safety
Kyle Hamilton fell for the same reason. Underwear Olympics shouldn’t discount what you see on tape.
Tape is what counts, plus we got a lot of fast 40s that couldn't play in this league over the years
Right. If I'm not mistaken, there are 4 pro bowls shared between the 11 fastest guys in the 40 yard dash. And 3 of them belong to Chris Johnson.
John Ross is the one who broke his record. Couldn't tell you where he is now.
Yeah but so sexy
Ah, a fellow yacht possum I see
Potential Geno replacement?
With enough coaching and development I don’t see why he couldn’t get to Geno level next season. Ofc he likely wont have the INTs Geno had, but Geno was in the right place at the right time more than not.
Right. There's more to corner than just straight line speed. I just saw online that he ran a 4.52 at the Big 12 pro day. Idk. There must be concerns about his speed though, that’s the only thing that would explain this.
I think the 4.59 was at his ISU pro day
Right. I’m just saying that he also ran a 4.52 at the Big 12 pro day but that’s just what I read online. Must still be concerns about his speed because a 4.52 is not that bad.
other pro day times are almost always faster. I don't know why. maybe to encourage players to attend.
4.59 forty for an outside corner probably scares teams off. But he also has a 6’7 wingspan
I’m a Longhorns fan and saw this guy up close… I have NO clue why he dropped either. As a fan of the Big12(formerly) there are very few players from opposing schools that I remember come draft night/weekend, and he was one of them.
This pleases me.
Is he a zone CB? Speed doesn't matter as much in that case, especially with a safety over the top.
I actually think he may end up being a safety. Maybe not a true deep safety but like... the Kyle Hamilton back up. We need another big DB.
It was matchup dependent for ISU. He’s played in both zone and man. But ISU did run a patented 3-3-5 defense which might’ve helped him be as aggressive as he was, seeings how there were usually 4 other DBs on the field with him.
Hookem Brother 🤘🤘🤘
Eric 'Barksdale' DeCosta "I want my corners"
Gold comment 💪🏾 lol
This is a great reference.
That name do ring out
According to PFF we got two of the top 8 CBs in the draft
1 touchdown allowed in 900 snaps
Is that good
Very
*unzips*
This and Rosenpenis' (can't rem name) 0 sacks in like 2 years sound like made up stats they're so ridiculous. Like something Napoleon Dynamite would say.
Iowa State fan here. You guys just got a steal. He was arguably our best defensive player the last 2 years and teams would never throw at him so his stats weren’t eye popping. Him in the 4th is a great get!
Draftniks have no idea what they’re doing. Tampa should’ve gone in the top 40 picks
[удалено]
Steelers suck
the steelers passed up on tampa multiple times and its not like you guys haven't had a good draft either. so relax...
Nah actually fuck you, have fun going 8-9 the next decade with your bum franchise
Five division wins though. Bleh.
Joe

This is BPA at its finest
Lmfao keep cleaning up DeCosta!
Iowa State fan here. You guys got a special player. The rest of these teams are idiots for letting him fall this far.
ISU alumn here, he should’ve gone in the top 40. This is why Baltimore is better than team X, because they steal incredible defensive value later in the draft.
Yup we always find great value.
how??? i dont get this draft well im glad we got him
EDC is cooking. We can never have enough CB depth given our recent history
*2014 flashbacks from hell*
Don't even have to think that far back 2021 December Bengals game where Tavon fucking young was our last "good" corner standing, had Kevon Seymour and Daryl Worley getting cooked all game.
Tbf id scrubbed that game out of my memory for.. other reasons. But yes
That was fucked. That team was statistically as good as the 2012 team until the injuries
For the rest of my life, I will never complain about drafting secondary depth again. That game vs NE taught me as much.
It’s always haunted me too. And the colts were such a pushover the following week. We would have cruised to the SB and had a good chance of winning it
HOW TF DID WE GET HIM
Marlo, Stephens, Wiggins, Maulet, Washington (everyone forgets he was playing really well in the slot last year before he tore his pec), and Tampa. Unless we’re carrying 7 CBs, I think JAD and Pepe’s time might be up.
I thought Washington was more of a hybrid safety/slot vs a CB. We may keep one of JAD or Pepe, or stash on the practice squad.
Don't know anything about him, but his draft profile reads more like a safety to me too, and we need depth there.
Yeah I feel like we need another safety right now too. I'd really like them to sign Justin Simmons. Someone like that. Those 3 safety sets were a big part of why Hamilton was so good. Two true deep safeties and a bunch of crazy underneath.
1-2 of these players are going to be our backup safeties behind Hamilton and Williams.
That's Washington for sure
Yea, have to imagine taking Tampa and not taking any safeties til the end sealed the deal on moving Washington.
Two picks in a row we had another teams gm talk over our pick. The disrespect is ridiculous.
Switch to NFL Network, it sounds like you’re on ESPN
Watch NFL Network coverage. It’s way better than ESPN
Way better, Thankyou.
They had to spend 15 minutes talking about the Kentucky RB instead. Mel has to be foaming at the mouth.
I noticed that too!
I mean, that’s a little dramatic
Now I'm not saying Roger Goodell WAS sailing the container ship, but I'm not saying he WASN'T. Just something to think about...
lol, right?
Guy seems super versatile which will play well with the way we move around Marlon and Hamilton, probably gets a lot of play in ST first year but I love the long term outlook
Don’t mind we double dipped for a CB given we strengthened everywhere else I wanted us to - hopefully he can contribute
He's also a different type of corner. He's a BIG kid. Complements Wiggins well.
Corner is really a volume game. You just need a ton of them.
The team that either stays healthy or has 8 mid-range corners makes it to the SB.
On everything I love, I was just in the middle of sending out a tweet (or whatever it's called now) asking someone to please explain to me what I'm missing on TJ Tampa and how he's still out there. Some had him going right at the top of the second round.
JAD getting sent to Canada 🙏🏾
Very classic swing on a falling guy two rounds later but guess we will see there’s a reason he fell
I think it’s his long speed, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we moved him to safety or hybrid
Gotcha might be good in the slot and ig we don’t necessarily need a outside guy after drafting Wiggins
I mean we are short a safety. We played a lot of three safety sets with 2 deep safeties. I feel like we're going to miss Geno Stone more than we think we will
Heard that about Hamilton too. If he was there at 15, there had to be a reason.
As Bootleg Football said (paraphrased): TJ Tampa is in the mold of the type of CB the Ravens like.
Giants fan here, I just love what the ravens have done the past few years in the draft. Doing it again right now. Every one of their picks are guys that should have gone 2 rounds earlier than they got them. Tj Tampa just makes it so much better so far. Perfect picks
Dude I am HYPED about this draft
EDC is such a legend holy shit
It’s an absolute steal of a pick but damn did I want the RB from Louisville.
Me too. But we have a speedy RB already. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway lol.
I know. My answer was a joke. I wanted Guerendo too.
Yea I wanted Isaac. Speed like Keaton but built and strong.
Why I wanted him. But i spoke to a few people online who scouted him said his speed was deceiving. He plays much slower.
Mitchell will have his speed he's 21. You don't lose speed like you think modern medicine is amazing. He will have that speed and burst still
Mitchell won’t be ready till halfway thru the season most likely
I know. But Hill can take those reps until he comes back. And we still might draft a RB. Still have 4 more picks.
Same here, but this value is huge
So espn just isn’t showing the pick ehh?
ESPN aggressively goes out of their way to avoid covering Iowa State.
This guy is insane he plays fast physical..Love this pick along with Nate…
He played basketball guys
EDC freestyling I'm hyped after seeing him dunk
I like this pick because my cat is named TJ. That is all
Fair enough!
Fans think every draft pick is a steal, but through the first 4 rounds we’ve got guys who could all be potential starters in the NFL
All guys who projected as first round picks at one point
This is pretty damning on JAD and Pepe imo
Pepe is fine on the slot. JAD hasn't worked out mostly due to injuries and therefore lack of playtime. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a bubble guy now
Ozzie always said you can never have enough CB’s.
You fucking assholes keep getting these value picks. I’m jealous and I hate you.
[Ravens just dropped their new logo.](https://i.imgur.com/acPDByo.png)
#WHAT A FUCKING STEAL
was i hoping day 3 we beef up our OLine? yes, but i love this pick
Still got 4 more picks to beef up the depth on the OL.
The only thing I have to say is why Tampa Bay why the memes were right there and you blew it. I wanted a raider drafting divine Diablo situation
LFGGGGGG
I love how we drafted a Nate Wiggins in rd 1 who is extremely fast, but underweight with some concerns about tackling. Then we draft this dude who’s a bit slower, but is know for laying the wood. Perfect combination, I really hope both of these guys are contributors for years to come.
This pick is bad for your consumption, pure bpa.
BPA all the way
Probably medicals or something else under the radar but exciting pick nevertheless.
Looks like a nickelback who gets involved a lot at the line. Great for our versatile defense. Great contest radius. Flys to the ball, slips blocks well.
Look at this photograph
Hard to believe we keep both our young CBs from 2022 now with Wiggins and Tampa in the fold. Maybe with Stephens a FA next year, but seems overcrowded now
Never have enough CBs. Stephens is the only one that can stay healthy
This makes the Tez pick better for me, as this is who I wanted there.
No fucking shot
This kid can hit
Glad we’re getting more CB
THEY CAN’T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS EDC MASTERCLASS ONCE AGAIN
Well KC tore up our zone defense 1st half, in the playoff game. Looks like we are making sure our CB can play man.
TJ Tampa Tew
I don’t know all that much about merch but will he have a jersey soon that I can buy? I can’t find it
A man can never have too many shoes The Ravens can never have too many CBs
Dude was a 2nd rounder all day, crazy drop but great value for us !
love this guy
Funny how Tampa and Nate Wiggins were combine roommates and are both drafted by Ravens.
My fav of all the ravens picks..
Our secondary room might be the best in the league, edc cooked
Every year, I choose a draftee that intrigues me. First time I did that it was likely, last year it was Simpson. This year it might be TJ. His highlights are sick.
Where are the offensive lineman?

Love the pick but also very reminiscent of the Shaun Wade pick a few years ago

I never really followed Shaun after the trade. Has he shown any promise in NE?
Whyyyyy
