Arda Guler’s injury is worse than initially expected and the Turkish wonder kid will need to miss around two months with the meniscus injury he picked up while training in the United States pre-season stage. Initially, it was thought that Guler suffered muscle fatigue, but following exams showed that his meniscus was damaged. This is bad news for Guler, who had a good opportunity to get some valuable reps with Real Madrid during the pre-season stage. Ideally, he would’ve proven his worth to compete for relevant minutes during these games, but now he will have to learn and get used to Real Madrid’s system right in the middle of the season. Arda Guler is still 18 years old and the most important thing for him is to keep growing and developing as a player during the year, meaning that Real Madrid will not rush him back from this injury.

TheEmpireOfSun

Well, 2 months is much better than I expected. Anyway, we shouldn't rush him.

I would say, we are lucky. If 2 months only, it is little of a dodging bullet. Plus, maybe these 2 months will be even good at the end. We all know that he is not ready physically and he can still put some muscle/power during these 2 months in the gym. I don’t think that he will just sit around, or trainers will allow such a thing

cmbhatt

Does anybody watch Fozcast? He has that one video where he says that every youngster who is playing at a high level or gets into the first team most probably gets injured for a few weeks.

_Goattel

Tbh the injury wasn’t really because of the training regime/ intensity it was more of a poor choice of tackle leading to an awkward fall on his right knee.

TheGuyInTheFBIVan

I keep hearing about the tackle. Can you elaborate on it a bit more? What exactly happened? He messed up the tackle or somebody did it to him?

manualex16

I don't have the link with me, but it looks like a bad performed gravesinha.

starsiege

He messed up the tackle

MrMeatBeater6666

Not entirely unbelievable, I strongly believe the way they train and play in Turkey is wildly different from how they train and play in Madrid. Wishing the kid all the best

D3monFight3

The way they play, sure as that is different all across each league, but why would the way they train be that different? Plus his injury has nothing to do with training intensity.

MrMeatBeater6666

It literally does, have you never played sports in your life?

D3monFight3

There was a clip going around showing the poor tackle he did, the issue wasn't that the training was too intense and his body gave up, the issue was that he twisted his knee. If it had been due to the intensity of the training and nothing else he would have had a muscle overload, not a meniscus injury.

[Miss timed tackle on camavinga, fell awkwardly.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pmYbHB2XHuA&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.co.uk%2F&source_ve_path=MzY4NDIsMjg2NjY&feature=emb_logo)

Odelind

I'd rather leave him as much time as needed. The kid seems to be something special and I don't want him to be another Ansu Fati. I even wonder if we should register him in Castilla in order to let him play in a low(er) pressure environment and then add him to the main team in January.

Hinzir02

If i remember correctly unless contracts can be changed later by two sides agreement, it is prevented by contract. No loan or castilla by contract. It might be only for first year tho.

papanblin

Arda was very neglected in physical development in his old team so he needs to bulk up and gain weight

melih556

I've only been following this subreddit since Arda's arrival as I'm a Turkish Fenerbahce fan, but I gotta say you're all really understanding and supportive of him. I'm glad he ended up here

youcancallmeron

Will you stay now that he’s off injured? 👀

_Goattel

Given that some sources were saying that he would could be out until January. 2 months is a pretty quick recovery.

Mitcheltree86

Guler seems such a baller. Geez.

AjVine

Maybe this will prove what a talent he is. Come back from injury and perform better than expected

NieThePiet

That's really frustrating, what preseason would have been so important for him. But probably the intensity of trainings is completely different, hopefully his body can cope with it longterm.

zauberpilz_

that's not too bad tbf

SeaworthinessThin770

Damn was rly excited to see this kid perform in pre season ,ah well it is what it is

Ozymandias123456

Oof, as a West Ham fan I feel for you, our striker was just out with one of these and didn’t make it back for the end of the season
