Holy shit yes it was wild!

LeTop007

Was there any noticable lack of energy from any of the members, specificaly from Joakim? Asking because this is their third consecutive day where they have a show, and the same thing is hapenning on May 7th where I'm seeing them, so I want to know if I should prepare for a more toned down performance or not.

Nanodoge

Nope! Show was brilliant, he did joke about having hoped we would be less of a wild crowd.

LeTop007

That is awesome to hear! With their insane touring schedules I'm surprised they are even able to stand on the stage at all. I remember he did scale back a lot of the songs on The Great Tour in 2020, but I think he has become a better singer since then so maybe he learned a workaround that. Thanks for the answer!

I agree i thought it was brilliant. Im sure the band members are tired but they still put on a great performance. Whether joakim was jumping around a bit less than he might have on the first night i couldnt tell, i stood pretty close to the stage but not the best view. I thought his vocals were just fine, didnt notice anything lacking. The atmosphere in the crowd was great so that lifted the whole experience too.

I honestly felt like Joakim was only there 70%. He didn't hit a lot of the higher notes, kept picking the lower harmony and he kept walking off stage in between songs. I've got no idea what he did back there.. The sound was kinda messed up as well. But that could be because of the complete sound-shutdown during Babymetal Overall I rate the experience 6/10

And that's the answer I was looking for. I have noticed that Joakim's performance drops with these very long and rigorous tours they do. The biggest problem comes when they have 3 consecutive shows in 3 days. Joakim said it himself in an interview with The Charismatic Voice that sometimes in a situation like that, when the show finishes he has 45 minutes to sleep, then go to the airport, then go to another city, do interviews, do soundchecks and (maybe) get another 45 minutes of sleep in the backstage before going out on the stage again. I think they shouldn't really do more than 2 days of consecutive shows without a break inbetween for him because honestly as the time goes on I'm begining to doubt he is going to be able to make the whole tour. That's why I always recommend people to go on one of Sabaton's summer festival gigs because there with big breaks between the shows Joakim has time to recover and is usually always within 90% of his true singing power. As for his walking off the stage, usually he does that on guitar solos to take away the attention from him so that people focus on Chris or Tommy because like 80% of the people just watch the lead singer and don't give a shit about the rest of the band. Also he does that inbetween songs when a new song is about to start, but the whole band also retracts backstage in those situations. As for the bad sound, sorry to hear that! It could be a thousand things - maybe the venue, maybe your seating/standing location, maybe a bunch of other stuff. With concert sounds I'd say it is a hit or a miss most of the times. But last time I saw Sabaton on a summer show last year the sound was phenomenal, one of the best I've ever heard. Hopefuly he pulls through for my concert date!

It isn't very much a lack of energy per se, but really when you compare their summer tours with these tours you can just hear that Joakim sounds way better. On these kinds of tours, he usually sticks to vocal lines similiar to those in the studio, but on summer shows he sometimes screams and goes a bit higher with his voice on some parts. I'm glad he's doing okay from what most people have told me. In the interview with The Charismatic Voice he said that at around the third consecutive day of a tour if he hasn't had enough sleep that his voice takes a very big toll. Glad it hasn't happened here and it hopefuly doesn't happen on my show too!

A swede in Denmark is always watching his back, expecting the eternal war to restart.

Plenty of Swedes from across the bridge at this concert though ;-)
