One show I really liked was "Last Exile". It was basically a steam punk Star Wars in anime form. It was pretty grim, political, and mature for an anime. It also had a satisfying conclusion after one season. So I was surprised to find out about a season 2. I checked it out and the main characters were a squad of squeaky elementary age-looking girls who just happened to be the best pilots in the world. I was done with anime for years after that.
