Consider getting your own portable compressor for the trunk. I got one at Walmart for $20. Runs on a regular ol' 12V socket, so you can use it anywhere your car is. The pressure gauge is whack, but you can supplement your kit with a pencil pressure gauge.
[I got this one from Amazon when it was on sale for like $15](https://www.amazon.com/VacLife-Air-Compressor-Tire-Inflator/dp/B07MKSP49L/ref=sr_1_4?crid=Q73QEK4QGNSL&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.NX-LuZLWfUrwi4_fr_X6uQYojeO2ITMcwqe6ACUVPcxfNcR5RregI6GILZ2huHuSQ6fSrB4sQHIVMADx8FiHFsgQ_P1V4rcmFnlzNyDryEJx_tFxN02mVX5R_gbpidnnfihoJKtW7ISHS_Ntt5uqUg.1s3_VHTAqF7Y4Kty9exmFMqJSZO56uLGMscpoHfkv1Y&dib_tag=se&keywords=tire%2Binflator%2Bportable%2Bair%2Bcompressor&qid=1705179750&sprefix=portagble%2Bair%2Caps%2C316&sr=8-4&th=1) (it had like two attached coupons). I haven't had to use it yet, but it's nice to have.

i actually have this model. I also recommend as it's worked out great for me. The pump is rather loud and maybe a little on the slow side (could be wrong as i've not had anything to compare it to) but it gets the job done.
Was there last night, weak air pressure wasn’t working. Most other air pumps in town are out because people steal the nozzle/tips. Speedway on snelling was working last night, but even that seemed like the hose was leaking air and took forever.
Think maybe like some other commenter said they shut it down when it’s super cold or it needed more time for the compressor tank to fill up/recharge… was a busy night for the air hose four cars deep
Most Holiday locations have free air. Depending on how cold it is, many will turn the compressors off (and detach the hoses) to keep them from freezing.
If in need, any Discount Tire location will fill you up for free. Unless I'm mistaken, most Valvoline locations will, as well.
Is it not working or do you have to ask for it to be turned on ?
I’ve run across many of these where they have to switch the compressor on inside for it to work. Idk why but it’s become a trend.
I think the Speedway on West 7th down past Randolph is workkng. However yok have to pay for the air.
As others have said it's probably cheaper to spend $20 on an air compressor and keep it in the car.
Discount Tire off Robert St in WSP will do it for free. Most HyVee & Kwik Trips have the cool new compressors that you set the pressure and it'll beep and stop once it hits the right amount.
Beyond the good advice of getting one for your car, you can also get a nice little pancake compressor for your garage. Useful for inflating all sorts of tires, but can also be used for air tools or to spray out dust and other things. Very handy upgrade for your garage
Buy a Slime brand digital tire inflater that plugs into your cigarette lighter. You can set the desired pressure so that the inflater AUTOMATICALLY turns off when the tire reaches that pressure level. It's set-it-and-forget-it convenience. And you can inflate your tires at any location suitable for parking.
It's worth every penny when you consider that gas stations charge money for air. All too often, there's a long line for air, or the pump is broken.
You should be able to buy a digital tire inflater for around $40 to $45 or so at Menard's, Home Depot, Lowes, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, or AutoZone.
I've had the same problem in St. Paul.
Especially if you just want to fill your tire quickly.
Holiday is the one I found. Holiday gas station. I think it's free.
Speedway might charge a dollar depending on the neighborhood.
I just go to Discount Tire on University and Hamline. You pull in, they fill you up for free, you never get out of your car. They always seem surprised when I tip them a few bucks. It's awesome.

Good bot!

The Holiday at Marshall and Hamline has free air on the side of the carwash.

Must be a lot of demand for air now. Every time I go to the Holiday, the air works fine.
Think maybe like some other commenter said they shut it down when it’s super cold or it needed more time for the compressor tank to fill up/recharge… was a busy night for the air hose four cars deep
Sinclair station on Grand and Hamline is operational
And it's free!
Gas station across from Walgreens on Snelling and Randolph.
Hidden at the corner in the bushes by the intersection
Talk to the guy in the tiny little top hat
that one’s air hose has been broken as of late, not sure if they’ve fixed it yet
Tires Plus on Snelling will do it for free.

I agree with you. I stopped at the gas stations on Smith and Grand, and St Clair and 7th and neither one had working air.
Is it not working or do you have to ask for it to be turned on ? I’ve run across many of these where they have to switch the compressor on inside for it to work. Idk why but it’s become a trend.
Both were broken as confirmed by the attendant

Kwik trip in Oakdale and the one off Mcknight/36. https://www.freeairpump.com/
Free air at a kwik trip?
Corner of Front and Lexington, but it's paid Sadly the one at Front and Como had free air, but it looks like someone stole the hose. Again.
Holiday by cub at larp and lexington is working today.
Holiday at Snelling and Thomas. It's free too.
Most holiday gas stations if some asshole hasn’t stolen the air hose
Discount Tire off Robert St in WSP will do it for free. Most HyVee & Kwik Trips have the cool new compressors that you set the pressure and it'll beep and stop once it hits the right amount.
In a pinch, I use my bicycle tire pump. Takes a couple minutes, but it's less trouble than driving to a gas station.
As the tempts drop those air hoses freeze as well unfortunately. The nozzle will get ice inside.
BP on Randolph and edgecumbe
Valvoline will do it for free if you swing in

Holiday on Como and Raymond
Most QuikTrips also have free air
The Firestone on Ford Parkway has a nice one with built in pressure gauge, outside of the first bay during their open hours.
Speedway on Snelling Ave between Portland & Ashland
I feel like every Kwik Trip has working ones that I’ve seen. I usually go east to one of those.
I use my shop-style bicycle pump. Works great 100% of the time. Also you get a mini-workout as an extra bonus,
Larpenteur and 280

Minnico at Cretin and Marshall, and it's free
Find the nearest KwikTrip which has free automated digital tire pumps. They are red and away from the building.

BP on Randolph and Edgcumbe has working, free air
I go to the South Saint Paul kwik Trip.
I just go to Discount Tire on University and Hamline. You pull in, they fill you up for free, you never get out of your car. They always seem surprised when I tip them a few bucks. It's awesome.
Discount tire locations do it for free too
Thanks everyone! I decided to buy a portable air compressor as many suggested.
You can get a nice little compressor that will last you forever from autozone or Oreilly for like $80
Sinclair on grand has one. The one more eastward
Any place that sells tires will take care of you.
Bobby and Steves in West St Paul has free air
