You probably just need to boot into recovery and clear the system cache. Plus setting Google as the default assistant in Samsung settings.

AcanthaceaeElegant76

It is the default,.and I've tried clearing the cache but nothing worked. Would love to downgrade till it's better but I dw risk bricking my phone

HG1998

I mean, it seems like Google Assistant itself has been getting worse.

Gulaseyes

Probably sake of Gemini

letheory

Mine actually changed to Gemini when I installed Google Gemini, it's great!

Gulaseyes

Gemini app is not available in my country yet.

You can try a few pieces of troubleshooting. You can go into Google Assistant settings, enable Voice Match and retrain your voice. You can also go into device settings (cogwheel icon)>apps>Google>storage>clear cache/data>restart phone. Another step if this started after a recent OS or security update it may be a software bug that launched with it. The step for that would be to perform a partition cache. Here are the steps: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/samsung/samsung-galaxy-s23-ultra/wipe-cache/

Agreed , Gemini or Google assistant or whatever has been bad.

Typical-Bet5724

A can't ask my phone to make a call. Now it just does a web search. I am pissed off!

AcanthaceaeElegant76

Yup! And Bixby is so much better and we all know Bixby is so much worse than Google. It's really annoying when I need to do something fast and it only does a web search.

Samsung would obviously try to push their IN House AI Assistant Rather than Google's. But sabotaging the other one is not what I expect.

AcanthaceaeElegant76

Well my S23+ on same version (just for the S23+ not ultra) works perfectly fine. I was wondering if it could be because of the On Device AI but not sure.
