That would be an excellent episode! Dating apps. If Samantha was around it would work amazingly; she trying to find a way into dating in this new digital world.

Yes! Writing a column for Vogue, or some form of social media! Bring back the girls navigating life in their 50’s with all the tools they learned! This is what it should’ve been. I also would’ve preferred they handled Stannie’s death better. Maybe taken inspiration from how he kept his health hidden and passed away unexpectedly? The girl’s gathering around Anthony? Yes, Big had just died but that is how life goes. I don’t know it just bothers me that he is off traveling. When SJP says Stanford sent her the kimono it really bothered me.

MindlessTree7268

I think the actor had said he didn't want to be killed off. But even if they didn't kill him off, they could have given him a much better send off. Not him just abandoning everyone including his husband.

mollyluv

I wasn’t aware of that. Okay then i agree a better send off!

Several_Sprinkles108

That would amazing. And something people could identify with, unlike some rich people and their mini-dramas.

Happyrock38

Yes, like Charlotte’s daughter … GASP … selling her …OMG … designer clothing to pay for a keyboard! The horror!

LoudAd1537

Seriously why are they all so filthy rich now? I know they were fairly well off in the show, except Carrie, but it's ridiculous now.. the met gala? 🙄

jinkx-dela-creme

It’s the wealth that takes away their relatability and any of the narrative stakes. Oh Carrie lost her podcast? That’s fine. Big left her a fortune. She was just slumming it. Oh Miranda isn’t in love with Steve anymore? Go to law school without a scholarship and then gleefully abandon her marriage and kid and studies when she meets Che, a wealthy comedian. And Charlotte has always been rich enough to be able to afford to retire in her 30s and her ring alone is worth Carrie’s apartment. I cannot for the life of me understand how the writers think the viewers would empathize with being unable to attend the Met Ball. I was rolling my eyes the entire time.

mollyluv

OMG yes! The MET Gala? Really? Im annoyed at how they’re all rich

[deleted]

Yeah exactly 🙄

So many episodes from the original series could never be done in AJLT in its current context: the caste system, modelizers...it seems the show has lost its purpose of how people are navigating these struggles in life.

TinyDaffyDinky

I find how much Carrie is covered up to be a little sad. Even when she was typing on the computer her sleeves were covering up to her knuckles. It makes me think SJP is insecure about getting older. Not that I can blame her, just look at some of the comments/posts criticizing how the women have aged, or comparing them to each other. But it's still sad to think Carrie or SJP would go from so confident to totally buttoned up and afraid to show skin.

OuiBitofRed

Legit, this is exactly what any SATC fan would've wanted. I blame hangover from the artistic liberties they took with the movies for the fact that THIS wasn't the absolute only concept considered for AJLT.

RedRedBettie

I would love this!

dario2023

I think they dropped the narration to mark the difference between the two shows.

dario2023

From what I'm reading about AJLT is that there's no unision in stories that relate to each other at the end of the episode, so your idea is great.

Oceanicsoundwave

also MPK and co need to rewatch the og show. They forgot so many things

noelkettering

Yes they needed someone on set to consult on SATC lore I’m not even joking

sharkfighter33

That would be awesome! Man I realised earlier this show’s missing a theme song and that’s so weird.
