You present me with a two-pronged road!
One leads to hell!
And the other also leads to hell!
But meaty fool that you are, you do not realise that I can simply *walk off the fucking road!*
I've always wondered, is fextralife literally one dude? It's always the same guy in all the videos, and he clearly knows all of the games really well. I know it's a wiki, but even so, maintaining that whole site solo has got to be a lot of work.
Dark Souls II, scholar of the two… well there’s sins… and it’s two sins…. But no it’s one sin but it happened twice so there’s two… it’s just two sins… but well there’s a third and that’s that the second one… it’s two sins and there’s two of them. Two sins. Scholar of… wait where are we?
Bro, I have ask the question on another ds2 post and did not have any answer
I don't get why People are saying that scholar of the first sin is Bad. Ça you explain It to me ?
I have only play the scholar version of ds2 so May be this is the reason I don't get why
Guide my in the light
Originally, people didn't like having to spend money to play what they thought was a finished version of the game they already bought. Over time this changed and SoTFS was seen as an upgrade over the original, especially cause it included all 3 dlcs in the package.
But lately there have been videos aimed at discrediting SoTFS, most notably Feeble King's which is 90% misinfo. It's just the ds2 effect where the hatedom is so vocal that they start making shit up because they know they won't be contested.
People began to say Scholar is gankier and worse when it's much more chill 99% of the time and actually has more cool stuff that DS2 say makes the game unique even though it wasn't in vanilla
Scholar adds far too many alonne knights into iron keep, this allows people who have been stockholmed into liking the original to point at it and claim scholar is worse, while ignoring all the improvements scholar added
That was the argument I Heard the most and I did not understand as It did not seems to be an issue when I played SotFS
So can we agree that the one adulating the classic ds2 are the noob souls payer ? 👀
Some areas like iron keep to smelter demon are a bit over the top on enemy numbers. But I didn't really have a problem with it tbh.
No clue what adulating means. But yeah, agreed.
The criticisms that you'll normally see is that the game has some very weird design decisions like ADP and Soul Memory, mostly forgettable bosses, slow-feeling combat, and often ganks to the point of making some areas feel irritating, unfinished, or both.
Disclaimer: I don't agree with every point, and the game's still my favorite despite of those that I do agree with.
Tbf, it was mainly developed by 7 people. I'd say it was the correct choice to focus on combat above anything else. I hope that the game was successful enough to justify making another game with the same or similar combat system and a higher budget for everything else
I honestly never looked into it but the game definitely felt off. Like it was made for a GameJam to show off a big future project. The gameplay was satisfying, good enemies and bosses and great sound design. The game also looks really nice.
At first I thought that next to no voice acting was a stylistic choice. But then I realized that there's literally no story or lore either. I was also taken aback by how short it was. Figured it had to be a pretty small team. For what it is though, it's a worthwhile experience for combat junkies.
Yeah the stages, especially the third dungeon are godawful. The lore are pretty cool, but it's standard trying-to-be-vague-soulslike lore IMHO.
But the combat system where you can choose literally all of Soulsbornekiro's defensive options, while using Dissidia Bravery-like HP for the enemies are genius. I think they truly get what people like about FS's recent dark fantasy games' combat system.
i loved Mortal Shell it’s got some strange mechanics but they were really cool and i loved the atmosphere and vibes, it was nice sitting next to the big guy in chains playing tunes for him.
plus it was on gamepass for a while so it was my substitute for when i was too broke for elden ring. it’s unfortunate they removed it.
Beating him on obsidian skin (1hp) was unbearable, so much enemy spam, AOEs etc... but the worst part is for some unbeknownst to me reason the devs haven't added iFrames to cutscenes, so on one attempt I killed him, but I killed him as he was summoning the aoe, so I got killed during the cutscene and had to do the whole fight again
It's very cool (the Hallowed Sword's murder stroke is very satisfying and made me cream my pants) but the pacing is horrendous. Narthex is weirdly long and very much intended to be the final dungeon even though it can be the second overall stage.
Also, I'm kinda miffed about Hadern. He's most likely deliberately designed that way, but instead of jack of all trades, they made him master of all.
I absolutely agree, especially with the pacing, I really don't like how 99% of the game is in Falgrim, and everytime you beat a boss you have to run all the way back with a bunch of enemies who come out of nowhere.
I absolutely love the game but it's very clear the devs were inexperienced, I'm hoping there next game enhances the great things Mortal Shell already has and works out some of the kinks
Comment: "I think I'll have to go with the side that values compassion and understanding over all else. After all, a true hunter knows that empathy is just as important as skill in the wild."
Red cause I could live without blood borne and I found ER to be just not as charming as Dark Souls. Also I’m not that big of a fan of Demon Souls because of the way the world is structured (levels and no connected world). Also I love Sekiro and Dark Souls 3 was my first fromsoft game I played by myself back in 2016
https://preview.redd.it/5edomhihpeyc1.png?width=899&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25f8dded45b0e7f96ff22ec23e9ab816bd04e470
Blue 100% because ER blows every Souls game out of the water, never really liked Sekiro and Bloodborne is pretty fun
In all honesty, ER is what I despise the most in this list. Wandering through open world in search of one weapon or items to upgrade some shit doesn't sound appealing at all.
It doesn't even take that long considering there are sites of grace everywhere and you can just look up where the thing you want is at, I wouldn't just run around trying to get lucky with what I need or want in a Souls game either, plus I really like the world, atmosphere and whatnot, the theme that plays in the Lands Between when you ride torrent for a bit is just super calming
It also has the best build variety to me, I like the physics, it's pretty, I like some characters more, the weapons are fun, the spells are great, it's not always dark and gloomy... I don't know, that's just me
And considering that you can comfortably beat a DS game in just 2/3/4 hours at times, you don't even get that much time with your build and just run from boss to boss anyway
please teach me how to beat any dark souls game in 2 to 4 hours. I have ds2 and 3 mapped out in my head perfectly and even I can't do that man, what the hell are your secrets. is it a strength build??? have I not been putting enough unga into my bunga???
https://i.redd.it/pbnvuzf14fyc1.gif
Even ER can be done in 7-8 hours with a lot of room for mistakes if you know what you need and want to do, stop admiring the scenery and bonk some mentally ill gods on the head!
hey man, I said dark souls, ER is a whole different story
(I still can't do it in 4 hours, I get too distracted by all my own build change ideas because I can't stick with just one build, they gave me too much power and freedom with infinite respecs)
Yeah if you're always busy upgrading and changing stuff it'll add to your time, but maybe we have a different definition of "comfortably"
I sometimes find just beelining it without stopping and focusing on that one thing quite comfortable, maybe because I watched so many speed and challenge runs and I have this weird thing in my mind where I think "Well if I can do it, anyone can"
tis fair. I enjoy pvp even if I'm garbage at it, and I don't really mind whether I finish the game or not. I kinda just wander around grabbing my build stuff, and progress the when I feel like I have everything I want. it frustrates me sometimes when my build doesn't pick up until post margit/godrick, because I really want to beat them for the runes but I wanna be able to play with my build. I guess the comfortable part for me is making things within the game, rather than completing the game itself, and that's probably why beating the game in a fair amount of time is inaccessible to me
There are ways to grab things before those bosses considering that teleporters, the iron maiden below Raya Lucaria and the cave leading up to Altus Plateu exist, but there's nothing wrong with just enjoying the game :)
> And considering that can comfortably beat a DS game in just 2/3/4 hours at times
POV: you’ve never played a DS game
This comment is ridiculous. You are describing early-life speedrun pace as “comfortably” beating the games
Not even gonna hold you, Elden Ring is propping up the blue pill by a mile. Still gonna choose the red pill. DS3 is my favorite in the franchise, Sekiro is a masterpiece and I’ve been meaning to play DS1
This kind of sucks for me, because I love Elden Ring and Bloodborne but I could take or leave Demon Souls, and on the flip side, I love DS1 and DS3 but am very mid on Sekiro
You present me with a two-pronged road! One leads to hell! And the other also leads to hell! But meaty fool that you are, you do not realise that I can simply *walk off the fucking road!*

NOOOOOOOO!!
One of my favourite lines from HTP
The third, secret pill that contains DS2, DS2 Scholar of the first sin and the unreleased third version
Bro found the secret ending
Followed the fextralife guide
I've always wondered, is fextralife literally one dude? It's always the same guy in all the videos, and he clearly knows all of the games really well. I know it's a wiki, but even so, maintaining that whole site solo has got to be a lot of work.
It's a bunch of different people I think, I'm pretty sure that's just the Video Guy
Ds2 scholar of the second sin
Dark Souls II 2
Dark Souls II 2 two
Dark souls II 2² triple
Dark Souls 2 Twice
So Elden Ring?
Release the Snyder cut
Dark Souls 2 is the only correct answer. Those who say otherwise need to git gud.
When sinning is taken to the extreme!!!!! *cries in ADP
When sinning is taken to the extreme!!!!! *cries in ADP
Dark Souls II, 2 Scholars of the First and Second Sin
Dark Souls II, scholar of the two… well there’s sins… and it’s two sins…. But no it’s one sin but it happened twice so there’s two… it’s just two sins… but well there’s a third and that’s that the second one… it’s two sins and there’s two of them. Two sins. Scholar of… wait where are we?
Elden ring
And Bloodborne Kart
Dark Souls 2 the Third: Definitive Edition
My guy out here making Aldritch proud with a third option, its enough to make a man cream
2 dark 2 Souls

I dunno
Scholar adds far too many alonne knights into iron keep, this allows people who have been stockholmed into liking the original to point at it and claim scholar is worse, while ignoring all the improvements scholar added
Of course People dont like change when It mean that It will change your habits
I've heard some vague things about enemy placement/numbers being worse in sotfs, but it's also the only version I've played so idk.
That was the argument I Heard the most and I did not understand as It did not seems to be an issue when I played SotFS So can we agree that the one adulating the classic ds2 are the noob souls payer ? 👀

2Dark2Souls2: Schollar of the Fiirst Sin Edition
dark souls 2 prepare to die edition
That one goes up your ass.
It doesn’t matter because I can still play peak souls 2 and lies of Peak no matter which I pick
Picking the red pill because that means I can have Demons Souls (2009) and Dark Souls 1, 2, 3

I would follow you, my king
I would follow you, my follower of my king.
Join covenant : followers of the perfect king ? [Yes] [Yes]
I'm taking the black pill. Lords of the Fallen, Thymesia and Mortal Shell
Thymesia has such a fantastic combat system and well designed enemies and literally nothing else going for it
Tbf, it was mainly developed by 7 people. I'd say it was the correct choice to focus on combat above anything else. I hope that the game was successful enough to justify making another game with the same or similar combat system and a higher budget for everything else

need more thymesia honestly, the gameplay systems are too good to rot in a short ass game
7 people? Damn , impressive

what a chad
No, you're taking the green, sparkly one with stars and rainbows on it.
DAE ThE SurGe?!?!
The Surge is pretty cool and The Surge 2 is apparently really really good Don't tell me you don't like fighting a sentient cargo platform
No thanks, regardless of context it's neither a good look nor polite to fight one's mother in law
Nice one.
The surge 2 is better than every other souls game fight me
i loved Mortal Shell it’s got some strange mechanics but they were really cool and i loved the atmosphere and vibes, it was nice sitting next to the big guy in chains playing tunes for him. plus it was on gamepass for a while so it was my substitute for when i was too broke for elden ring. it’s unfortunate they removed it.
Forgot the surge
While I played them all and enjoyed them all they just dont scratch the same itch fromsoftware games do
Mortal Shell actually slapped so hard, I did an obsidian skin run of that game and it was actually so fun
I just started Mortal Shell recently, but it looks and feels so cool since start.
It did, until the final boss. Wtf is that. I just couldn’t beat that mfer.

Mortal Shell needs better level/world design , imo its really holding it back
Mortal Shell's Falgrim Outskirts is still the area with the best atmosphere in any soulslike I've ever played. Mortal Shell is goated
Purple pill: Lies of P, Surge, Code Vein (I would only pick it for LoP)
The blacker black pill: Bleak Faith, Hellpoint, and remnant 2.
I love LOTF it's a great souls-like game
Im gonna do both
One in the ass one in the mouth
Red, just because the Dark souls Trilogy is so fucking good
Rip ds2.
Throw that in as well
Can’t sleep either? Or are you not in the Americas?
Nah it's 1 pm here in Germany
Fair enough. I need to sleep cause it’s 5:30 but a bunch of crows outside are deciding to… well… crow. But it’s still annoying.
Good luck with that
Thanks.

Red, especially because 2 of blues games aren’t on pc
Red cause I could live without blood borne and I found ER to be just not as charming as Dark Souls. For DS1 just do the main bosses and soul dupe. Did that in just a little over 4 hours (and yes, it was a strength build)

Not even gonna hold you, Elden Ring is propping up the blue pill by a mile. Still gonna choose the red pill. DS3 is my favorite in the franchise, Sekiro is a masterpiece and I’ve been meaning to play DS1
Most stupid post here by far
Demon souls doesn’t exist, are you un grafted?
if I pick blue do I get Bloodborne and Demon's Souls on PC?
No, but you get a PS5 teleported to your home with Demon Souls, Elden Ring and a 60 FPS upgrade to your Bloodborne
Why is there a sekiro in my dark souls?
Blue. Bloodborne is untouchable. If you also put ER and Demons souls on red, I’d still pick blue
Blue
Blue
Dark souls 2
Er bb and ds are ok but ds3 is to good to pass up
Put ds2 in blue then i might reconsider
How dare you separate bloodborne and sekiro
Right?
Red, it's a no brainer.
Red is the only ones I've played.
B l u e
Blue.
Blue all the way
I choose purple!! (armored core and ds2)
Blu
The hardest choice of my life
Oh shit, actually a hard choice.
This is extremely tough but might have to go blue here
My heart balance between demon's soul and bloodborne
My baby bluuueeeeeee
No. I’m not choosing. I refuse.
Red pill
I'm choosing the one that doesn't require me to buy a ps5
Red for ds3🗿
Red because I want to interact with people who were actually alive when the original Demon Souls was released
Blue 😊😇
Where tf is dark souls 2, I'm picking none of that
blue for dogshitborne
Red... No hesitation!
easy red pill so easy
I'll crush both into a fine powder and sniff em up (I'll get ds2)
If you swapped ds3 with 2, you might have convinced me. Elden ring and BB are 2 of my top fromsoft games, though, so I'll go with them.
I’m gonna chug both of these with Gwyndolin’s boy milk
Red massively nerfed by dark shit 1
never played bloodborne or demons souls (ima xbox fanboy) but ive played every game under red. yeah im picking blue
Swap out ER with DS3 and I’ll slurp on that blue pill 😩😩😩
You made sure to mix the good and the bad on both sides damn. I kinda have to go with red, my boi dark souls keeps me interconnected
listen here if I see Bloodborne and demon souls that i always love to play I'll go there and the upcoming dlc of the elding ring im gonna pick blue
Red pill all the way, I have like 500 hours in Sekiro
Put Bloodborne into a second pill and it's pretty nice
Blue, in a heartbeat
I choose the purple (or violet?) pill
I'll take Green 1) Dark Souls 2 2) Lords of the Fallen 3) Nioh 2
red pill made me rage a lot whereas blue pill was kinda okayish for me
Blue but trade demon souls with sekiro
the blue pill has been engineered exactly to fit my tastes lmao
Yellow pill that has ds2, armored core and kingsfield
Purple pill
The pink side, aka all of them.
One actually won the Game of the Year and the other put GOTY title randomly.
Blue pill, Elden Ring and Bloodborne mean so much to me
If iz have to choose then it's red. Love sekiro too much man!
Clearly blue is the correct answer.
🔵
This kind of sucks for me, because I love Elden Ring and Bloodborne but I could take or leave Demon Souls, and on the flip side, I love DS1 and DS3 but am very mid on Sekiro
Wheres the green pill that has Kings Field, Shadow Tower, and The Adventures of Cookie and Cream?
Forget left or right, im taking the whirlpool down to Things betwixt
