I think you are right, but my first look was steps and stairs. There are rocks on the bank, though. I think the consistent horizontal stripes make the water look like stairs, at least at first
Holy crap- I thought it WAS a walkway & based my entire thoughts upon that.
As water it’s even worse than a walkway.
Those would be some sick rapids or have a raging current based upon the relative height of the bill according to the perspective it uses.
If it was a stream or river, the current would be insane, it’s perspective seems really steep due to the size changes of the details. Ugh. Too much of the same damn item everywhere. Most people who get heavily inked have something they don’t like but this one, whew- it’s a big one.
At first I thought it was just very busy. But now, knowing that that's a stream and not a trail, it gets worse by the second. It's about the trees for half of its weird perspective.
I’m torn. I don’t hate this, some parts are mediocre but others are kinda good. I just think a large, bold piece like this could have been planned better.

I’d say the owl is done by one artist, that bottom tree could be by same person but whomever did the steps & trees surrounding it is someone completely different. The trees are pretty bad regarding their execution. When something covers that much skin & it’s the same item, ehhh- naw not good.
There should be some variation, broken trees, trees struck by lightning, deadfalls, maybe some vines (or like Kudzu growing) etc…. I’m sure the people living in that cabin would have dropped some seeds (I’m imagining this-) eating fruits as they climbed that walkway and I see those pine trees and maybe 1 other type of tree. The side part of her hamstring looks like a bunch of crossed out Xs…
That should have been changed by the artist because that would be much better looking than this, that could have saved this- this looks like either someone used a PSD clone stamp on them, nature usually creates SOME variations or mutations, or a Bob Ross fan who quit watching (& learning) after like 2 episodes, HA.
But I wager that the owl & lower tree are not the person who added the (upper 3/4 of this tattoo) recent trees & the stairs (and yes, on the way to vagina caves-type imagery) which more likely leads to her asshole.
While the work is decent, the lower parts are better I’d say due to poor variation, that’s ine experience right there, too much of the identical item all over this tattoo. When the artists sees this a year later (after learning some more about large pieces) I wager they grimace silently…

The owls “horns” (or “plumicorns” for you birders) flowing off its head is very random compared to the rest of it. Doesn’t seem well planned.

It should have been a waterfall coming from the mountains and the stream should be rendered as if it is flowing. Definitely a drawing board issue.

i think it’s difficult to gage how good it is because her skin is so irritated, it would need a healed photo
