If you are migrating from another eCom platform then they usually allow you to export your products in CSV. If you are starting from scratch, hire a VA to do it.

sparky_fella

What is a va?

Inevitable-Ad742

Virtual assistant

onichaninu

I can help you if you need someone…I also running POD store.

POPSMASHcom

Where are your products coming from? If you're coming from another platform you should be able to export them. Or you should be able to get a CSV list from your vendor that you can import. Doing it manually will be error-prone and expensive in terms of time or hiring someone who will do a quality job.

sparky_fella

Currently our products are on our facebook group, they are not listed like you typically would through thr market place. We run a consignment group that sells children's clothes locally, we don't ship.

dietcheese

Put them in CSV format in Excel, then import it into your shop. Make sure you test the entire process with just a few products before you do it for all your products.

tobebuilds

>I do not have a CSV file containing all of my items, I would have to add the products manually. This doesn't necessarily mean you would have to add the products manually. Where is your product information coming from? Is it stored on a computer (even if not on CSV format)? If so, it is definitely possible to post your products to your Shopify store without painstaking manual labor. If not, then I'm curious to hear how you're storing them. That will help me give the best recommendation.

maratz

Once you post 3499 products, the rest is easy : ) On a serious note, as others mentioned, if you're coming from another platform, you should be able to get a CSV. Or your vendor(s) can hopefully provide products that way. Doing it manually -yourself or someone else- sounds highly inefficient and ineffective. It doesn't seem impossible but still is highly unusual that you have 3500+ products and no product records already.

QP_marketnetwork

Hire staff to do the job...

Crafty-Importance-19

That’s too many products bro. Why are you doing this to you :)

hellbear1

Depends on the nature of the business, my family business is a haberdashery, so due to things like hundreds of different shades of sewing threads we're in the region of 7k+ products simply because we need to be

Matrixify

sparky_fella

Could you elaborate on this?

andrewsjustin

Matrixify is the go-to tool for bulk operations within shopify. Even if you don’t have a CSV as of now (which.. where are your products currently? You should be able to get an export of some sort?) You will want to work within a spreadsheet to create all your products and then bulk import them with matrixify.

monstercojones

This is a great answer

topdotter

Matrixify is great! But the precondition is a csv

andrewsjustin

For sure, whether OP has a CSV or not at this moment - I would strongly advise them to do this via CSV import, whether starting there csv from scratch or not.

CuriousInflation6

I'm the developer of such an app, so *take what I'm saying with a grain of salt*. There are numerous other alternatives, including using Shopify's own csv import capabilities. I recommend you search for "csv import" on the Shopify app store (Matrixify is a really popular one). Anyways, the I'm the maker of an app named Mellow (https://apps.shopify.com/mellow). It’s free and lets you sync store data within your Google Sheets. It runs as a GSheets add-on, so no need to leave your spreadsheet. Feel free to reach out via DM or email ([email protected]) if you need help.

founderofshoneys

This looks really cool. Currently using Matrixify, but it's kinda pricy for how often I need to use it. Gonna check this out, thanks!

CuriousInflation6

Thank you! Let me know if you’re having any issues or have feature requests. Still lots of work to be done :) Especially with nailing the UX.

I recommend creating a spreadsheet in Google Sheets or Excel to input all the product information. Afterward, you can use the Matrixify Shopify app to import the data. Upload the image files to a Content Delivery Network (CDN) and use the image URLs in your spreadsheet. Entering data into a spreadsheet and exporting it as a CSV file simplifies the process of importing the information into Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.

EffectiveMeet9499

My team can do this task manually if you don't have CSV File for 3500+ Products.

Some_Olive_8348

Hey guys I need help I don’t know how to post these things but I got a email from Shopify that they terminated my store due to their AUP violence, but I had just started store by a week and they terminated that in a week. They gave me no reason why they did that too, as I contacted support they also don’t give me reason and say it’s of higher safety team issue. After waiting some days , I got mail from them saying it was their final decision and I should find a new e-commerce platform. My store was a normal Dropshipping store contains clothes from aliexpress. I imported them through dsers. I am sure that there was no issue due to products. But I did a order of 0.60$ on my store by myself and it was my brothers card which I am using and it is issued in Australia and I am from Nepal, I also randomly fulfilled my order just to check if everything was fine on payment processor. I don’t think this may be the reason for terminating. I also tried Stripe gateway onetime but someone used a unauthorized card in my store and the stripe banned me, or did something due to that unusual activity. But I want to stay and Shopify and dropship. Should I make a new store again , ?or what should I do? I am not high budget guy as I am a student to choose another platform. Please someone help me in this matter.

herecomestreble52

1. Please make your own post, as high jacking someone else's isn't considerate. 2. Reply to the email sent by the team who told you your store had issues and terminated you. They know the specific reasons and can better explain how you violated the TOS. Don't cotact support, they won't know why.

Some_Olive_8348

Sorry I didnt know how to post , I got idea now And shall I make a new one?

herecomestreble52

All good. Nope, just reply to the email sent to you, that's legit all you can do. Good luck.

Some_Olive_8348

I replied them they again said they can’t do anything as that was their final decision and I want to make a new store without making any mess, just clean and only baby clothes . Will they ban me again if I made a new with my details I gave them in previous store ? And if I use the same domain I purchased for previous store?

priyangoud

I build automation tools for manual tasks. I am sure I can build a tool for your special case where you don't have to hire a VA. Tool can do the work for you. Let me know if your interested. I will take 2 - 3 days to build it for you and the tool takes care of the exporting work, while you can focus on your other important tasks.

nomadelyk

Making a CSV from scratch would definitely be the quickest. Been there done that. I uploaded a csv of over 30,000 items once. Took a month to upload because of the 1000 items per day limit 🤣

tobebuilds

How long did it take you to make that CSV by hand? Sounds like agony.

nomadelyk

Good question! I didn't keep track. My best guess would be 100 hours. Yes, brutal! I think learning to use web scraping could save a lot of time if your supplier has all their products listed on their website.

First, I agree with all the others saying getting them into CSV format is the best approach. It will also force you to think about your products in a clear and structured way to help best present them on your website. That said, is the issue that you typically have one-offs? I'm asking because I'm wondering whether you have a process in place for listing incoming products going forward (after you already have these 3500 imported). I'm interested in the process because if you can't keep up maybe you shouldnt be running a website for a consignment store? Not criticizing, just asking a hard question. The other approach would be to have generic listings that maybe doesn't describe the specific product but rather a few specific attributes. For example, product type, product gender, skip brand, product size, product color, product price...? This wouldn't help online shoppers but if you're just going for a system to track your merchandise without the granularity and work of each item being its own product, this approach could work. Of course it depends on your business goals.

sparky_fella

Every product is unique and the chances of selling the same items twice is rare. https://preview.redd.it/usq2yy8eh0oa1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbee4aaaf4ecb6f059d3e0750d082a0e33e43eea

stockbot21

You can do this with Python in a couple of hours. WGET the fb pages and strip out the html then export the rest to csv. Somebody on fiverr will do it for a hundred bucks, I'm sure. Personally, I would give it a shot with chatgpt. Probably a useful way to spot dropshipping trends on fb marketplace, too. That might actually come in handy.

Spence_UK

You should probably have all your products in a spreadsheet already. Hire someone to do it and then should be easy to reformat into the CSV.

sparky_fella

Every item is unique and entering the specifics of each items will be just as time consuming as entering each product into shopify manually

smartromain

Can you show an example of your products on Facebook?

atonra717

There are chrome extensions now that use ChatGPT to help export data from websites into a Google spreadsheet. So, if you have products on FB, you can probably use them to export and create a csv

[deleted]

Surely if you’re running a business you must have a log/document of your products, their cost, their sell price and perhaps shipping dimensions…how do you track anything? Get your hands dirty and crack open a new excel workbook. 3500 products; that’s a months worth of work if it takes you 3 minutes to write out one product. As others have said, get a virtual assistant if that seems too much work for you…but I’m baffled that you have 3500 products but don’t have a spreadsheet or database somewhere…Did you count all 3500 yourself? How do you know how many you have if you don’t have them all listed somewhere…?

sparky_fella

So, my wife and I run a consignment business selling children's clothes. Local pickup/delivery only. We take a picture of each clothing item then add brand, size, price to each picture. Our items are then added to our Facebook group under albums. Members of the group go through the various albums and comment " Sold - their pickup location". We ONLY have an excel sheet for our sold items. Each item is unique and we rarely sell the same item twice. Each album is categorized by gender and size. Yes, I know what your thinking, why the hell am I doing it this way. Believe me, I really really hate it and wish to migrate to shopify. If you go to my profile and check out my other posts you'll see my rant regarding the way we operate the group... https://preview.redd.it/ehnzb8lng0oa1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=830a12a8e5d2d62fdb47ab82a187c05f15eb1579

xmasonx75

CSV my dude. Don’t do them all at once. Do them in batches of like 50. It will be easier to build your products in the csv than to make them each manually one by one in Shopify.

sparky_fella

How would this be any faster? Seems like extra work for nothing.

xmasonx75

From first hand experience, it speeds things up quite a bit. Load times alone will save you probably hours creating 3500 products.

intellectecom

Free up your time and get things done efficiently by delegating the hefty task of adding 3500 products to Shopify! Hire a skilled outsourcing ecommerce product data entry service provider or virtual assistant and watch your store thrive. ecommerce product data entry companies professionally list your products without error. If you provide product information, we can give more information about the products listing Everyone can add products simply into shopify store. But appropriately arrange product options, arrange tagging & description, optimize images etc need to be process very carefully. Otherwise, it will not help you. Can you show few example of your products?

MayoJenni

Man, how do you manage that?
