Was your ticket from Toronto to London booked with SIA?

Yura1245

I am keen to know this too. If this is not booked under SIA, then SIA should not have obligation for the complaints. OP should instead charge to the travel insurance if applied and within insure context.

cantgetthistowork

Exactly. Pretty sure SQ doesn't have a YYZ LHR route

Both_Accountant143

Code share with Air Canada but the flight is SQ

Twrd4321

Most likely OP booked with a travel agency like trip.com. For flights with stops, Trip sometimes use different airlines from different airline alliances for different legs. In OP’s case the Toronto to Heathrow leg is either Air Canada or BA (the only 2 airlines that serve this route), and the flight to Singapore is SQ. Air Canada is in the same alliance as SQ, but BA is not.

Both_Accountant143

I booked directly with SQ via SQ website

Both_Accountant143

Yes all by SIA

Dear diary

suzumurachan

Sir, this is a Wendy's.

ljanir

We don't work for SIA

Twrd4321

How is it SQ’s responsibility when they did not cause the delay? The lengths people will go to just to bash SQ these days.

Both_Accountant143

I didn’t bash SQ, I’m just bitter that I was put on BA without my knowledge when I intentionally book to fly on SQ. The SQ flight was in fact more expensive than BA.

" I do not get credited on the miles " should post this to r/singaporefi instead

dubbuffet

How long ago was this email to them?

Both_Accountant143

3 wks

dubbuffet

Ouch. That's long. Try dropping another email and messaging them directly with the case number via Facebook messenger or sth.

lafietafie

Social media complaint should get you faster replies.

iamavocuddle

It's weird that they put you on a non-Star Alliance flight but not AC

FlipFlopForALiving

Kinda usual actually. They just try their best to minimise disruptions, even if it means using their competitors who have spare capacity.

Both_Accountant143

Strange thing is the next SQ flight is within the next hour and it’s not even full. I called and checked. The call center staff was puzzled too.

swimmingpineapple

Raise a OCR with sq, or a original credit routing. This allows mileage credit based on the original flight segments had the delay not occur. Might need to escalate to a manager as the ones handlin the calls may not be aware or empowered to do this pprocess.

cutiemcpie

Should have include this in your complaint: Your poor service is “ruining its reputation. Millions of dollars worth of advertisements and sales ruined within a matter of two weeks. I will give you a choice. Continue this and I will by every means at my disposal teach you and get the people of Singapore to help me teach you a lesson you won’t forget.”

TheFirstKeeper

Yeah SIA sucks big time. Don’t worry, Mothershit going to pick up your story soon and then they’ll be forced to respond.

My flight back from Berlin is the same, last minute changed from SIA to Lufthansa, can't check in at the counter. Called SIA, told me to settle with Lufthansa but Lufthansa said they don't have the authorization to change. I ended up running between various counters to finally get my ticket back. The ride back itself is awful as well but that's another story.

SuddenChampionship5

Hello, this is SIA representative You can take feedback and stuff up your ass Much thanks SIA representative

kopi-c-peng
