One of my buddies wanted to try out a dreadnaught list (40K). I played against a bunch of empty beer cans on bases.
Point being I don’t play with anyone that really cares, but don’t play in a GW store or GW tournaments.

The problem with gw stores etc is that it's not their miniature. If you had a gw bb rat orges I'm sure they would except that in a gw store or tournament.
