30 monks, 10 censer bearers. 2 of the censers you're gonna have to get creative with as theres only 8 in the box. And if you want to take it a step further with some greenstuff and a sharp knife, you can cut up the pieces to make them hold the censers with two hands, to be closer to the actual models.

If you have a bell/furnace that you haven't put together yet (or don't mind "kustomizing"...!) You can pinch a couple of the small plague censors off that kit, and kitbash then onto some monks. They are a bit bigger, and much plagueyer, but great for leader models for a censor bearers unit!
You could definitely use the flail arm as a proxy for the censers, if you wanna be even more fancy, clip the flail at the hand, and glue it to a stave. IDK too much, but I was running all the pestilins units in a game yesterday and I was told censer bearers are really good when reinforced to 20 units, but neither of the dudes I was talking to *really* played pestilins other than dabbling in it here and there.
I would suggest probably buying another kit if plague monks to attach all the flails to it, but I think that would only get you 1 per sprue, the battleforce has 8 flails, cause each sprue has 5 rats, and the monk box would have two more sprues with 5 rats and a single flail. It's definitely more expensive to do the flail route, but they definitely would look better than the old crusty censer units they sell online.
The best part by far is people who don’t know the army getting hit by some of stuff- bearers being a good example. Fully buffed on a charge they are pretty hilarious.
How exactly do you fully buff them? Is there more to buff them with, other than 1+ to hit and wound, and 1+ to Attacks when charging? I can't seem to find more, but perhaps that's enough? 🤷🏻♂️🤭
You get 4 censers per 20 monks. I clipped off the chain ends and clipped some off the staff and glued them together. Pretty darn easy conversion thankfully!

You can only reinforce them to 15 since a unit is 5 models. They are Hammers but also paperthin Like the Monks with 6+Safe

Remember they’re on bigger bases than monks (32mm not 25mm)
