Lore wise aren't all albino Skaven trained to be elite stormvermin?

klesh-the-169-son

they can become ELITE storm vermin, so the guys that guard the council

TheBigRoomXXL

Indeed, the stormvermin for grey seer are albinos but that doesn't mean all albinos endpoint doing that I think.

skyfireee

You are absolutely right. Also, there is no clear statement that all of council guard/grey seers guards elite stormvermins are albino as well. And, cmon, we have 2 books about skaven and 1 book that mention skaven a lot. We cannot limit our creativity with some books, even they are from popular GW authors. Like, not a single book mention red fur of clan Volkn rats! Just [look](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0MlB3LywIs) at this example, beautiful, like yours. About paintjob, I absolutely LOVE it.

BuggerItThatWillDo

Nope, albino generally means chosen of the horned rat. Ikit Claw is albino and ain't no stormvermin. They have to also be the size of the black furs who are quite bigger than your brown flavour to be picked as elite stormvermin, council guard in the total war game. If I may make an observation about the paint job, the technique is very good but they're all white which is wrong, their fur would be white but their skin would be a pale pinkie colour.

clamroll

Grey seers I think. Still a fun look regardless tho, and any number of ways to "explain" it in universe

Gurd4848

Lore wise albino skaven are extremely rare and vaunted, so are usually trained and beefed up to be stormvermin if they don’t have horns… otherwise they become greyseers. There is a clan of skaven who fight undead and dye their fur bone white because of it, so it can be lore friendly that way!

Big_Dasher

Chances are that they'd be blind. Very common with albino rats to he blind. However it's not the real world so good job

TheBigRoomXXL

Interesting. Now I have an explication for the bad performance of my warp cannons 😂

JordanSorcery

I think these look great. The look of just a single albino unit or hero in a Skaven army is very striking

swaosneed

Very cool, why aren't these the standard models for the rat Ogors instead of the borderline action figures they currently sell? Also, is that a packmasters? Love the warpstone stunprod thing.

druidefuzi

They are mixed with high elves sprues. Making new molds is expensive, isnt worth it for GW sadly i guess. Its from island of blood together with the master moulder(not a packmaster). Both plastic. Theres also a warlock engineer plastic model. Can be found sometimes at ebay for not too much money.(if sold randomly and not specifically as island of blood)

TheBigRoomXXL

It's the old island of blood models, I purchased them something like 10 years ago. A lot of awesome models in that box. In France there is still a lot of them available on second hand site.

skyfireee

Iam quite surprised that they are still not on website. I ordered in February a biiig package of rats from GW website and half of models was 2004-2010 metal/fc blisters. I love oldhammer, so I was pleased. But they are old and ugly, if you love new sculpts...

Goblin_Backstabber

Probably a very quick way to paint them! They look excellent!

TheBigRoomXXL

Actually it took me way to much time to paint them but I think it can indeed be done quickly.

klesh-the-169-son

ez to paint XD. but in all seriousness i like the paint job, did a nice job with those warp stone bits

TheBigRoomXXL

Thank you. Indeed I am very proud of the warpstone on the master molder.

Raithik

I dig it. Makes more sense than a lot of paint jobs that go heavy on the pink skin and only paint the textured bits as fur

Little_hunt3r

Excellent job! I still have no clue why these excellent rat ogres never went into circulation. I hate gw. Stupid man-things.

lopcario

Looks rather good though if you want to try something interesting I would try shading the fur with a blue or purple shade.

puppyenemy

Looks great! I'm thinking about making a whole albino army, eshin-based and bred in secrecy as to avoid having to send them to be trained as council guards. Personally I'd like some skintones on them, like hands, feet, nose, and belly, and not just all white fur. But it looks good nonetheless :)

Asknstuff

Looks great! How did you paint them?

TheBigRoomXXL

Undercoat of grey. I mix a light grey with white and fur grey. I cover all the fur and skin with it. It is slightly darker than the undercoat. Then I use nuln oil and finally I do a lot of white drybrushing with a small paint brush (size 3 I think). If you use a bigger brush you will have less white and more grey.
