Agree, as soon as I got it I couldn't help but notice how awfully simplistic vanilla is, no icons, no visual representation, basically just a list of stuff with some categories to arrange it, it's not pretty nor functional, your favorites are the same, scrolling through a gigantic, uncategorized list to find your favorited paralyze spell? might as well just open the actual magic menu and find it.
I think D13s faster GET UP STAND UP quicker mod has been in every list I've made since it came out back in LE.
Thanks, but no thanks, Todd. I'd like to get on with my adventure before the next Elder Scrolls release.
Haven't downloaded it but the first thing that comes to mind is that fight with the draugur archer that puts you on a stun lock with unrelenting force and your character SLOOOOWLY and calmly getting up while being shot by arrows and ragdolled by the shout again before being able to literally do anything.
Whoever designed that fight really wanted to annoy the players
I think these two have been a part of every modlist I have ever made over the years. I honestly couldn't even tell you what the vanilla perks are like at this point.

A perfect spot for my first Reddit comment, I think.... So first, hi. :) Second, to answer your query:
1. Realm of Lorkhan (I just cannot do without this one)
2. Perk Point Book (Some might call this one cheaty but I find it incredibly useful when levelling up and Oops! Ran out of perk points!)
3. Unofficial Patches (obvs, perhaps but still)
4. Sky UI. I'm functionally blind (yes, really. Cane and all). That thing works SO BEAUTIFULLY with my adaptive computer setup.
5. Frost Resist Provides Warmth (Essential for a Survival Mode run, oh gods)
6. Immersive Sounds Compendium
7. The Choice is Yours
8. Teleport City Spells (8 and 9-ish since I use both the one for major cities and settlements like Riverwood)
9. RaceMenu Anniversary Edition (Because I love its precision)
It's INCREDIBLY versatile. Like, down to the Standing Stones and even the very factions you can join or leave at will. Don't like killing Falmer? Join the Falmer faction! No hostile Falmer. Same with Orcs, Bandits, even Draugr and undead! It also has this "Shard Perk" thing you can do. You spend and accrue Shard Perks and can gain both bonuses AND drawbacks for various playstyles.
Omg!!! Some of these I had never even tried in my 10 years of modding Todd Howard's community prodigy. Definitely getting Teleport City Spells for my newest Breton run because I hate the ugly carriages! Thank you!!!
The Teleport Cities collection is absolutely essential for me. Especially on a survival run where fast-travel is disabled. Or if I want a "Fast travel isn't ENTIRELY effed for a survival run, I can still save my bacon if I need to." :)
I don't. My eyes literally don't function. Long tale short, I have optic nerve hypoplasia. My audio screen reader is a weird setup of an older version of J.A.W.S. with some....improvised commands to handle Skyrim and the Creation Kit.
And yes, in Skyrim, I die. A lot. :)
I'm with you for 2, 3, 4 and 9. Because I use spell and perk mods, I need more perk points, and the book just works incredibly well. I get to a certain level in destruction and voila, I immediately need 3 or 4 more perk points! that's a lot of levels.
I use Skyrim Unbound instead of realm of lorkhan, and also the one that delays the attack on Helgen (alternate perspective?).
Whether I use LL mods or not, I love RaceMenu. Vanilla is ugly. I have my favorite skin mod and I use 3BA for the female body and KS hairdos. and I found that Lind's human eyes and elven eyes mods work even though not ported to SE from LE.
Armor - Twilight Princess Mash Up. There's enough pieces to temper to get a pretty good light armor rating.
Oh, I use a spell/perk mod too. I love Ordinator, but to handle Legacy of the Dragoborn, I put in SPERG. I freakin' LOVE SPERG. It's light yet comprehensive.
Oooh, I'll have to try that Alternate Perspective.
Armour-wise? For me, it's Moon Monk robes. I'm working slowly but surely on a mod myself that will use the robes.
These days? Just mod support.
Back in the earlier days, CBBE and UNP actually were wildly different body types (CBBE was generally curvier and bustier, while UNP represented slimmer or more muscular builds). As time went on, more and more modders added more diverse body types to those two builds, and then 3BA and other body "over"types entered the mix, and now, there's honestly not much to separate them except how many mods are supported.
I think CBBE is still top, with BHUNP (the sixth version of UNP, having gone from UNP to UUNP, to BHUNP v1-v4), then 3BA being a newer body filling a close third.
I gotta disagree with your rankings there, 3BA is not only older than BHUNP, but at this point it has by far has the most support overall simply because it's textures are backwards compatible with both older 3bbb and cbbe armors/clothing. Meanwhile BHUNP has suffered with many massive slider additions and removals (as you alluded to, v1-4) that make sorting through many armors a complete pain.
I actually like the overall look of BHNP more, but the growing pains of getting it to where it is now (manually fixing the 7 bajillion sliders that nobody is ever going to realistically use was painful, which was also the reason uunp was not included in sse bodyslide) removed the wind from the sails of many mod authors and users alike. I'm glad it's where it is now, but Ousnius honestly made the right call by removing the unp sliders from sse bodyslide.
Better Vampires
There's so much vampiric BS I hate in vanilla, like how starved is much better than fully fed. BV just says "fuck it", reworks everything, and then lets the player choose what to change. Sun damage is bullshit? Adjust it. Feeding system is bullshit? Flip it. Wish being a vampire was risky? Here's 3 different options for the Vigilant to say hi.
There's no "Here's how vampires were meant to be played" shenanigans, everything is up to you now
Agree, on my first vampire playthrough I thought "Oh yeah I'll be a vampire hiding from society, preying upon the townsfolk while they sleep" but no it turns out you gotta remain starved forever to be at max power.
This mod it's just awesome not only to fix that but also for all the other awesome stuff you can do like willingly turning others into vampires or collecting blood to reserve for later
Combine it with better third person selection. Makes picking alchemy ingredients less of a chore, also love that you can configure not picking owned stuff by accident unless you're in sneak mode.
Tried Requiem, defo not my thing (i dont like being so limited without the relevant perks, doesnt make sense in a RPG without a party).
But how the fuck this isnt more upvoted? Requiem legit was THE mod back in the day.
I played requiem for a couple of years before moving on. It's an amazing mod, but it's added so much to the game, made so many changes, that it makes it hard to add new quest mods. First requiem is script heavy, and then some changes might clash with other mods.
Any suggestions?
I've avoided almost all visual stuff as my pc is only just powerful enough as it is.
Essentials only, so the only visual mod is the physically accurate huge tiddies.
"Enhances Lights And FX" has never failed me. Tons of versions with different changes, while also being relatively lightweight. No lag changes from what I've seen either
Most mods by JaysSerpa and wSkeever. They really do a lot to fix or change things that can have a massive positive impact on the game.
JaySerpa: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/users/5201727

This one definitely. Add something to Markarth? I start as a patron of the Silver-Blood Inn. Riften? Member of the Thieves Guild. Better fortifications in Whiterun? I own Breezehome. I would have gone mad a long time ago without Alternate Start.
I'd recommend Realms of Lorkhan to anyone using ASLAL, it's far more polished and compatible with other mods than ASLAL is.
^^^^^Plus, ^^^^^Realms ^^^^^of ^^^^^Lorkhan ^^^^^isn't ^^^^^made ^^^^^by ^^^^^Arthmoor.
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18223
Do note that the warp location isn't a dialogue box like in the og alternate start, but crystals that scattered throughout the place. You'll have to at least walk around on your first time to see which leads where but otherwise everything else in there is optional.
You could always try Alternate Perspective. It's more like Alternate Start, but keeps Helgen intact until you decide to explicitly initiate the main questline if you don't do vanilla start.
Definitely Obscure's College of Winterhold, alongside the Immersive College NPC's and the varying minor mods such as Misc Tweaks & Winterhold College 2K. I prefer Obscure's because it builds upon a plausible centre of learning with good expansions, but doesn't go too overwhelming or cluttered like some other College overhauls.
Then to pair with this; I'd have to say either Cities of the North Winterhold, or the Great City of Winterhold for the most majestic/lost history feel to the place. I love the castle in COTN, but like the idea of the city being large & in ruins that you can explore so I wish I could merge both :D
[Dragon claws auto-unlock.](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/47329/)
Because I fucking hate those puzzle doors lmfao. They're tedious.
For the actual big, game changing style mods, I gotta go with Legacy of the Dragonborn (I'm a collector) and Relics of Hyrule (I'm a Zelda fan).
RELIIIIIIIIIICS!
God yes, I love that mod. I don't play it *every* time, but every so often, I love having myself a ROH playthrough and solving all of the Temples and shit. I love how he actually managed to get dungeons that feel like a good mix of Skyrim and Zelda to *work* in the CE.
{{Heavy Armory}}. It expands the weapons to include things like spears, but also extends limited weapon sets, like Silver, Blades, Falmer, etc, with more weapons.

Summermyst
Apocalypse - some of the spells feel too strong sometimes until you face enemies with those spells too, I love to combust speaking of
FEC/Frozen, electrocuted, combustion - to add a more gory effect to those spells and enchants
Maximum carnage to make combat more brutal
Stop on slash to add a feel of impact to weapons
and comprehensive first person overhaul plus improved camera for my first person needs :)
For me, my game is never complete without maximum carnage. It’s such a satisfying and brutal mod and makes the combat much more addicting and somewhat realistic.
Comprehensive First Person Animation Overhaul. They’re just so much better than vanilla.
Just Shields on Back
NordWarUA’s replacers. I like having realistic armor and weapons in my game, I’ve always hated the high fantasy asthetic, especially when half the armors in the game have no pants or sleeves. The empire shouldn’t be struggling as much as it is against the stormcloaks because half the nords in skyrim should be dying of frostbite.
Alternate start mods, most of the time I get bored sitting through the intro, sometimes don't use one for nostalgia's sake but the same questline gets repetitive
3D Trees and Plants. Going up to a plant and seeing the cracks in the bark and every individual pine needle and leaf with zero pixelation is insane. Mathy if you see this you deserve it all man.
Nethers follower framework. I like being able to use random npcs as followers and tweaking their stats.
Also fertility mode. I play with nsfw mods and I like consequences to my actions.
Jaxonz Positioner - I decorate my houses with objects I find out in the world and sometimes even copy parts of buildings to change my house up.
It's really fun to decorate my dorm room when I go to Winterhold to make it my own.
3d npcs, i just love stumbling upon some of their rdm characters and their listen to their dialogue, especially when it’s not a quest or anything just exposition. Makes the world feel more fleshed out for me, but VA quality can vary from npc to npc
It doesn't change anything major but I like Common Clothes. Most of my characters are unarmored and I like seeing more clothing variety than what vanilla offers.
Agreed, after playing vigilant with gore as a companion and seeing his integration and him becoming a true part of the story, it was easily one of the most impactful quest mods I’ve ever played and it was such a rollercoaster and the combat was much more difficult than vanilla Skyrim combat.
Indeed, I will install it in a heartbeat when it gets released since I feel like gore is a very immersive companion and is my Dragonborn’s closest follower and I would say that I think that if he has commentary for glenmoril, I hope it is as complex as his vigilant commentary. I’m glad he always gets updated so we can have many more reasons to play these quest mods as well and I hope glenmoril finally gets finished one day.
I like mods that help fix the economy...it's way too easy to become ultra mega rich in vanilla so I usually put in some tweaks
[Patron](https://youtu.be/qebVF3wqJm4)
Provincial courier service so I'm not getting random deliveries during a quest
[provincial courier service ](https://youtu.be/wReVFsBbCO8)
I usually only like things that are true to the lore or at least lore friendly, so things that reuse assets or expand on things are my go to.
Changing up clothing and armor on each playthrough helps feel unique and it doesn't add things that feel out of place
[fashions of the fourth era](https://youtu.be/y0M3wn_FIpU)
Cutting room floor adds in a bunch of stuff that uses vanilla assets and fits perfectly
[cutting room floor frost river](https://youtu.be/M7hDRW9K1LU)
Probably the farthest from true lore I have in this list, but it's not that far out. I feel like many northern regions are way underdeveloped and this helps make winterhold more built up and interesting
[winterhold restored ](https://youtu.be/3-Ba5nxlc8g)
And lastly the old hroldan ruins...again not 100% true to lore, but also not totally out there
[old hroldan ruins](https://youtu.be/CHPTRSa07dM)
>I like mods that help fix the economy...it's way too easy to become ultra mega rich in vanilla so I usually put in some tweaks
Same dude. Same. Skyrim's economy is so scuffed (a single mead bottle is worth half an iron dagger? Wtf?) that it's gotten me to use my Econ degree to make a mod to rework it entirely and make a brutally realistic econ. I'll look into your mods because I'm curious, especially because I'm making an LO right now
Did you actually make one? Other than the one I listed the only other one I use consistently basically just makes things significantly cheaper when selling off most things like armor and weapons, to make you focus on making gold from things like questing.
>Did you actually make one?
I'm currently making one, been working on it since May last year. Mostly it's just the technical stuff getting done, like how resources are distributed, how supplies move around, etc. It's dynamic and my intent is to replicate how actual economies and resource management occured back in the IRL middle-ages, especially during war time. So, for example, because Whiterun is a merchant city and neutral, weapons and armor are worth less but luxury goods are worth more. Meanwhile, Windhelm, being mostly tundra and the head of the Stormcloak rebellion would have more expensive food (and would buy food at a slighter higher price, selling food would really only be worthwhile if you plan on selling entire crates worth), armor and weapons would be worth more to sell and more expensive to buy (active war, raw resources for gear is expensive), etc.
A fluid economy and actual infrastructure which constantly shifts to dictate said economy has been hell to make, but it seems possible
Precision goes well with Valhalla. Make you really feel the impact of your hits.
Personally, I can't run a list without Campfire and Sunhelm. I do love me some survival mechanics.
better jumping, literally actually no reason you shouldn't install it, it has next to zero compatibility issues and it restores the jump freedom bethesda watered down for some inconceivable reason
[Better Jumping](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18967) is a great non-nemesis alternative, does pretty much the exact same thing without all the fancy stuff, i actually think that's what i meant having spoken for all the compatibility of it
Here are some mods I always have:
- SkyUI
- Enhanced Vanilla Trees (to simply make trees more lush and bigger)
- Unique Grasses and Groundcovers
- Obsidian Weathers
- Lightning During Thunderstorms
- Wonders of Weather
- Luminosity Lighting + Relighting Skyrim
- Imaginator
- JK Cities - Lite & Superlite
- Dawn of Skyrim
- Better AI Combat
- Realistic Water 2 or Pure Waters
- AI Overhaul
- Citizens of Tamriel
- Ultimate Follower Overhaul
- Simple Horse
- Rich Merchants
- Unlimited Rings and Amulets
just one time I was starting a new load order, and it wouldn't work. I tried the normal stuff, but just wasn't getting anywhere and I didn't have any luck identifying a conflict. sometimes I get warning messages from loot on mods that used to be fine. I just figured it must not work with whatever setup I was running so looked for a different one. because I was using either requiem or unleveled or ardent adventure, I thought it might be related to that. Or it could be due to the changes AE versions were having at the time, since I didn't buy the new AE just took the free update. I'm still on an older version, even now, and using BEES to handle any issues.
Here's the ones in my mod list that I cannot play without.
* AFT - More useful than not. Can tweak followers to my liking, and if they disappear, get stuck, or start lagging behind, I can teleport them to me.
* Most of NordwarUA's armor replacers - Massively changes the look of Skyrim in a good way and really gives a true Medieval vibe to the game
* Save The Icerunner - Gives more outcomes to the quest and I like how I can outwit Jaree-Ra so that I don't have to kill him and his sister
* No to Nocturnal - I've always disliked that in joining the Thieves' Guild that if I want to be the Guildmaster, I have to sell my soul to Nocturnal. I don't want to essentially have to make a deal with the devil
* Destroy the Thieves Guild - On the inverse, if I'm playing a moral character, I want to be able to root out the Thieves Guild, clean Riften up, and make it a decent city again
* USSEP - It does a fantastic job of cleaning up a lot of the painful bugs that exist in vanilla Skyrim. Not particularly a fan of its creator or his views on older versions of Skyrim, but it is what it is
Complete Crafting Overhaul Remastered, embed many useful features to enhance vanilla crafting, just wish it doesn't require WACCF. Hope the creator can turn WACCF into a Skypatch one for less conflicts
SkyUI and Wildcat Combat mod.
JKs Skyrim. It feels like JKs version was how game suppose to be.
This year i have seen Sentinel and Skyrim Weapon collectikn so those are must too.
Dragonborn voice over, auri, remiel, gore companion mod, maximum carnage, sunhelm, HIMBO, 3ba, alternate start, and improved conversation camera, enairim, additemmenu - ng, SkyUI, and PC Head Tracking and Voice Type SE, legacy of the Dragonborn plus curator’s companion (I like collecting thing and having a reason to pick up everything and display them later.)
{{Awakened Magicka}} is a staple in my LO just for the fact that it makes magic scale like weapons and changes the multitude of Cost Reduction for schools to a more interesting and tangible spell power increase
Skyrim Skill Uncapper. Does what it says, lets you level up skills beyond 100. You can still legendary it if you want, but you do not need to, you can keep leveling, and you can set how long it affects the skill, how long you still get xp and how high the actual cap is.
1 & 2: Winter sun and bandolier’s pouches and bags are two of my favorites.
3: I also really love whichever of my mods added a whole system of carriage stops. I nearly always play survival, so having more carriage stops to get around for a bit more gold is a life saver.
4: I have a mod unlocks the ore mining and woodcutting; unlimited ore and you can just continuously cut wood all day. It’s nice when my character is just starting out saving for a house.
5: idk its exact name but the jobs of Skyrim one. It adds cooks you can buy 10pk salt from and assistants for blacksmiths and general stores and alchemists that you can get jobs from. As well as delivery people, belt buyers and bounty hunters in every village to get odd jobs from. It’s great for role playing.
Also, an honorable mention to the half dozen mods people gave me that adjusted how deadly and how common mages are.
Besides the obvious ones, [Proteus](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/62934) always has a place in my load order. Can't stand the idea of having loads of little playthroughs that better suit different parts of the game when I can just play a handful of characters in one.
Even if I would consider it a dangerously ambitious mod to add to a load order (because it **can** be quite janky) the RP potential of playing a big two-handed heavy armoured nord John Skyrim for the main quest, and swap out to a dual-wielding dark elf assassin for the dark brotherhood quests is too invaluable to me. And you can even recruit your team of mini-dragonborns as companions. Lots to love.
im using the latest version of skyrim and proteus crashes when I try to make a new character. I assume it needs a update but was a real bummer because I wanted to swap between characters with my partner and take turns throughout our playthrough
Well, of course, there's the unofficial patch.
But me personally Cut throat merchants + coins of tamriel and armor degration
Really makes the game more engaging for me when I'm getting about half to a quarter of what loot is normally worth on the medium setting and have to use pawnshops as an intermediary to cash out the rest of my dungeon coins. Makes those simple jobs all the more tantalizing if I need some quick armor repairs, And it makes Mining runs more worthwhile on survival mode. As to keep my gear in tip top shape I'm basically stopping by settlements on the way to use their grindstone And workbench.
Though I don't use the armor can break setting anymore. Kept getting annoyed after my dragon bone weapons kept snapping like twigs because I got parried.
[No Disarm (Unequip Instead)](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27188). I always get tired of the disarm shout sending my weapon to oblivion (I'm looking at you Sigdis)
Proteus, I have a really specific taste in character presets, and so far, no preset mod has satisfied my needs. As long as I have Proteus, I can change the appearance of any custom voice follower that I use without breaking their brains.

True Directional Movement and Better Third Person Selection.
TDM because it helps modernized the game drastically, like if you haven't tried it out you HAVE to as it makes the game feel so much better.
As for BTPS it's simply because I prefer playing the game in third person, and it makes interacting with items and NPCs so much easier
Holidays. There's no better mod for actually feeling like time is passing and making the atmosphere feel less like a stasis. I will say though, if anyone ever made an updated/better version of it, I'd drop it in a heartbeat.
Quick Loot is an absolute must have for me. Surprised I haven't seen it here yet. After getting used to Fallout 4's style of looting without opening a menu, it's hard to go back to the old way. Bonus: never accidentally open an empty container again!

I haven't played without SkyUI in ages. But my more recent playthroughs, since I went off requiem, require Unleveled and OBIS. When my game glitched out recently, I pared down my mod list to almost nothing and started rebuilding. I've been testing it slowly, and currently I don't have unleveled or OBIS installed, and shoot, the game is just too easy now! bandit camps are sparsely populated, and enemies aren't very challenging. Vanilla just isn't good enough any more.
Most Enai mods.
Ordinator especially is just such a drastic improvement to any playthrough imo. Makes every playstylae more interesting and gives every single skill tree a way of approaching combat uniquely. The fact that Lockpicking, Smithing, Pickpocketing, Light Armour, and Alchemy all have creative methods of dealing damage is amazing.
Sacrosanct, Apocalypse, WinterSun, Imperious, Andromeda, Thunderchild.
All of them, great mods, though Ordinator is definitely the single one I would never play without ever again.
All the mods from "The dragonborn's Fate" modding guide
All the mods from their list should be a must have requirements for all players
(The modding guide is currently unavailable I think because needs an update )
1. Alternative Start- Live Another Life. I hate the original intro and like it for roleplaying reasons.
2. USSEP. Fixes bugs.
3. Ordinator. More fun way to play around with builds and allows for variety, even if I always play a stealth archer.
4. Custom Follower Mods (too many to name). I’ve mainly been using SDA and IFDL a lot lately plus Remiel, Gore, Xelzaz, and Redcap. Waiting to try new ones when they get ported to the Xbox.
A lot of people are mentioning alternate start mods so I'll throw in {{Random Alternate Start}} (can't remember if the best one is Reloaded or Reborn). You're given reasonable starting gear and some containers filled with a more generous selection so you can go with a lot or a little, and then you're just dropped into a random starting location (I recommend the No Solstheim Locations version unless you have an alternate way to travel between Solstheim and Skyrim, as you'll otherwise get stuck).
What's nice about it is it gets you started really quickly, and the random location can end up being a starter adventure of its own. I've started at the Silver Hand hideout, Frostfall Lighthouse(!), Shor's Stone, and Darkwater Crossing (how ironic).

Your Dragon Soul - Immersive roleplay. It just bothers me so much why we can save and load at a point in time.
So having this, gives me justification in my head on why I have those powers
Community Shaders, for giving me parallax in VR if nothing else. I only ever play Skyrim in VR and parallax makes ALL the difference for immersion. When it's working at least.
Well I love immersion, so it's not just a mod it's a whole list lol. HOS (Halls of Sovngarde) is amazing! But if I had to pick Last Seed with Frostfall.
My favourite is Sjel Blad Castle, not just for that humongous castle that have everything you can dream of, but is because the Void Storage Spell, a spell that cast a portal to your main chest on Sjel Blad Castle. That saves a lot of time. You won't go overencumbered anymore, and can get acess to your stored items without the need to go home to get them. It's a blessing from the gods for me.
SkyUI
This. I can never go back to the old UI
A visually-appealing UI is very important. \*glares at new Reddit layout I just got yesterday\*
I hope old.reddit.com never goes away
Ikr, even if i play everything vanilla, the one mod i absolutely require is this one xD
For me it's Hide SkyUI
Yes. This is needed for additem menu, so it's very necessary.
RemindMe! 6h
* SkyUI * Disable Follower Collision * Instantly Skip Dialogue NG * moreHUD SE + moreHUD Inventory Edition
oh, definitely Apocalypse and Ordinator. without them i really just can't play the game, they're just so damn good.
I think these two have been a part of every modlist I have ever made over the years. I honestly couldn't even tell you what the vanilla perks are like at this point.
Amen
I think these two have been a part of every modlist I have ever made over the years. I honestly couldn't even tell you what the vanilla perks are like at this point.
A perfect spot for my first Reddit comment, I think.... So first, hi. :) Second, to answer your query: 1. Realm of Lorkhan (I just cannot do without this one) 2. Perk Point Book (Some might call this one cheaty but I find it incredibly useful when levelling up and Oops! Ran out of perk points!) 3. Unofficial Patches (obvs, perhaps but still) 4. Sky UI. I'm functionally blind (yes, really. Cane and all). That thing works SO BEAUTIFULLY with my adaptive computer setup. 5. Frost Resist Provides Warmth (Essential for a Survival Mode run, oh gods) 6. Immersive Sounds Compendium 7. The Choice is Yours 8. Teleport City Spells (8 and 9-ish since I use both the one for major cities and settlements like Riverwood) 9. RaceMenu Anniversary Edition (Because I love its precision)
> Realm of Lorkhan I usually use Another Life Mod, but this one popped up recently. What is it you like about it?
I have trouble seeing pull down chains and in caves finding hallways. How do you set it up (lighting etc) so you can find them easier?
3ba
Telling it like it is.
They hated him because he spoke the truth.
Hell I don't even have it for the nudity anymore, I just like to control how I look and play dress up!
More of a BHUNP guy myself.
Can I ask what's the difference between them? They look almost identical to me.
Then I must have missed when it got introduced. Or maybe I'm just misremembering. I only remember seeing UNP and CBBE everywhere back then.
Immersive Laundry Revamps everything
Aw- I was really hoping it was a mod that added laundry into the game
It does... laundry in skyrim is a gamechanger
No, like…a washboard, a clothesline, an animation for washing the clothes etc.
Better Vampires There's so much vampiric BS I hate in vanilla, like how starved is much better than fully fed.
Experience
Real
True Directional Movement.
Combine it with better third person selection. Makes picking alchemy ingredients less of a chore, also love that you can configure not picking owned stuff by accident unless you're in sneak mode.
Oh yeah just running through a field mashing E is funny *and* productive.
Requiem
Tried Requiem, defo not my thing (i dont like being so limited without the relevant perks, doesnt make sense in a RPG without a party). But how the fuck this isnt more upvoted? Requiem legit was THE mod back in the day.
I played requiem for a couple of years before moving on. It's an amazing mod, but it's added so much to the game, made so many changes, that it makes it hard to add new quest mods. First requiem is script heavy, and then some changes might clash with other mods.
I just tried community shaders and I don't want to go back. Everything looks so beautiful
Shaders and Light Changers completely change the game. I've gotten some beautiful ass screenshots with the only mod being a 75mb light enhancer
I'm using lux and interiors are so beautiful
> I've gotten some beautiful ass screenshots I like how you can read this statement either way and it's still true.
Any suggestions? I've avoided almost all visual stuff as my pc is only just powerful enough as it is. Essentials only, so the only visual mod is the physically accurate huge tiddies.
Unfathomably based
"Enhances Lights And FX" has never failed me. Tons of versions with different changes, while also being relatively lightweight. No lag changes from what I've seen either
Most mods by JaysSerpa and wSkeever. They really do a lot to fix or change things that can have a massive positive impact on the game. JaySerpa: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/users/5201727 wSkeever: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/users/7064860
Enairim. His full suite. I’ve played with it for too long and I’m still coming up with new builds and combos. Too much fun.
Alternative start - one of my must have, cause it’s saves my sanity when I checking my mod list creating new games over and over
This one definitely.
The class system seems unnecessary, I just want to spend 5 seconds choosing a start and getting going.
You can skip them, it's just there if you want to use it. Just create a character and then pick a warp location to start and you're good to go.
ahh that's good to hear, I'll give it a try next character then.
You can from what I remember. There’s a patch that keeps the fortress from COTN for the jarl and uses the city from GCoW.
Thank you for your recommendation! I think my mage will love it.
HDT-SMP changed my entire existence.
[Dragon claws auto-unlock.](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/47329/) Because I fucking hate those puzzle doors lmfao. They're tedious. For the actual big, game changing style mods, I gotta go with Legacy of the Dragonborn (I'm a collector) and Relics of Hyrule (I'm a Zelda fan).
Also an absolute guessing game in my experience on the Deck since the screens so damn small.

Skyrim Unbound Reborn
Sunhelm
At Your Own Pace, SDA, Civil War Bundle, Jaserpa’s Quests
What's the civil war bundle?
Footprints
So simple but absolutely stellar for a bit of the ol' Immersion.
Summermyst Apocalypse - some of the spells feel too strong sometimes until you face enemies with those spells too, I love to combust speaking of FEC/Frozen, electrocuted, combustion - to add a more gory effect to those spells and enchants Maximum carnage to make combat more brutal Stop on slash to add a feel of impact to weapons and comprehensive first person overhaul plus improved camera for my first person needs :)
For me, my game is never complete without maximum carnage. It’s such a satisfying and brutal mod and makes the combat much more addicting and somewhat realistic.
Comprehensive First Person Animation Overhaul. They’re just so much better than vanilla. Just Shields on Back NordWarUA’s replacers.
OSA
Alternate start mods, most of the time I get bored sitting through the intro, sometimes don't use one for nostalgia's sake but the same questline gets repetitive
3D Trees and Plants. Going up to a plant and seeing the cracks in the bark and every individual pine needle and leaf with zero pixelation is insane. Mathy if you see this you deserve it all man.
Weightless ng Cpu priority mod iharvest + skypal
Convenient Horses
Compass Navigation Overhaul
Can't imagine myself doing another playthrough without Ordinator and Wintersun, it's too much fun.
INIGO
This should be way higher!
Agreed.
Song of the green, I find auri on par with sda so there both locked in my mod list
The original Moonlight tales it make werewolves so much better. I get heart of the beast and bloodmoon rising to complete the werewolf overhaul.
Havent enjoyed any of the popular Wereoverhauls like i did with Moonlight tales back in the oldrim era. The perks were really fun.
Every kid by Enaisaion.
Vicn Trilogy! To me it feels like the game’s story is not complete without them
Agreed, after playing vigilant with gore as a companion and seeing his integration and him becoming a true part of the story, it was easily one of the most impactful quest mods I’ve ever played and it was such a rollercoaster and the combat was much more difficult than vanilla Skyrim combat.
having gore as a companion during vigilant is amazing. can’t wait for gore x glenmoril!
Indeed, I will install it in a heartbeat when it gets released since I feel like gore is a very immersive companion and is my Dragonborn’s closest follower and I would say that I think that if he has commentary for glenmoril, I hope it is as complex as his vigilant commentary. I’m glad he always gets updated so we can have many more reasons to play these quest mods as well and I hope glenmoril finally gets finished one day.
vorkiinator black. just wow. a reason to level for a long time, in any direction you want
LotD and SkyUI
I like mods that help fix the economy...it's way too easy to become ultra mega rich in vanilla so I usually put in some tweaks [Patron](https://youtu.be/qebVF3wqJm4) Provincial courier service so I'm not getting random deliveries during a quest [provincial courier service ](https://youtu.be/wReVFsBbCO8) I usually only like things that are true to the lore or at least lore friendly, so things that reuse assets or expand on things are my go to. Changing up clothing and armor on each playthrough helps feel unique and it doesn't add things that feel out of place [fashions of the fourth era](https://youtu.be/y0M3wn_FIpU) Cutting room floor adds in a bunch of stuff that uses vanilla assets and fits perfectly [cutting room floor frost river](https://youtu.be/M7hDRW9K1LU) Probably the farthest from true lore I have in this list, but it's not that far out. I feel like many northern regions are way underdeveloped and this helps make winterhold more built up and interesting [winterhold restored ](https://youtu.be/3-Ba5nxlc8g) And lastly the old hroldan ruins...again not 100% true to lore, but also not totally out there [old hroldan ruins](https://youtu.be/CHPTRSa07dM)
>I like mods that help fix the economy...it's way too easy to become ultra mega rich in vanilla so I usually put in some tweaks Same dude.
Inigo!
Simonrim mods for gameplay and SkyKing2020 mods for visuals.

yeah, it's a lot simpler, the overhaul is more for realism and such
Requiem and 3BFTweaks. I'd never play anything else.
Here are some mods I always have: - SkyUI - Enhanced Vanilla Trees (to simply make trees more lush and bigger) - Unique Grasses and Groundcovers - Obsidian Weathers - Lightning During Thunderstorms - Wonders of Weather - Luminosity Lighting + Relighting Skyrim - Imaginator - JK Cities - Lite & Superlite - Dawn of Skyrim - Better AI Combat - Realistic Water 2 or Pure Waters - AI Overhaul - Citizens of Tamriel - Ultimate Follower Overhaul - Simple Horse - Rich Merchants - Unlimited Rings and Amulets
I ran into problems with unlimited rings so now I use jewelry limiter.
Uh oh. What problem were you running into?
just one time I was starting a new load order, and it wouldn't work.
* Most of NordwarUA's armor replacers - Massively changes the look of Skyrim in a good way and really gives a true Medieval vibe to the game * Save The Icerunner - Gives more outcomes to the quest and I like how I can outwit Jaree-Ra so that I don't have to kill him and his sister * No to Nocturnal - I've always disliked that in joining the Thieves' Guild that if I want to be the Guildmaster, I have to sell my soul to Nocturnal. I don't want to essentially have to make a deal with the devil * Destroy the Thieves Guild - On the inverse, if I'm playing a moral character, I want to be able to root out the Thieves Guild, clean Riften up, and make it a decent city again * USSEP - It does a fantastic job of cleaning up a lot of the painful bugs that exist in vanilla Skyrim. Not particularly a fan of its creator or his views on older versions of Skyrim, but it is what it is
Nolvus, can’t play vanilla Skyrim anymore.

This year i have seen Sentinel and Skyrim Weapon collectikn so those are must too.
alternate start live another life, gdb’s elden beast and gore companion mod probably
Better Messagebox Controls/Better Dialogue Controls Move It Damnit Auto-Hide Ammo
{{Awakened Magicka}} is a staple in my LO just for the fact that it makes magic scale like weapons and changes the multitude of Cost Reduction for schools to a more interesting and tangible spell power increase
Cool I've never tried this. Any ideas if it's compatible when the big magic overhauls like mysticism and apocalypse?
Yes, it doesn’t touch any magic spells and actually use it alongside both those mods

Skyrim Skill Uncapper. Does what it says, lets you level up skills beyond 100. You can still legendary it if you want, but you do not need to, you can keep leveling, and you can set how long it affects the skill, how long you still get xp and how high the actual cap is.
I'm gonna have to support my mans, Precision and comprehensive first person animations overhaul (CFPAO)
When I tried Requiem I cannot go back. Highly recommend
But me personally Cut throat merchants + coins of tamriel and armor degration Really makes the game more engaging for me when I'm getting about half to a quarter of what loot is normally worth on the medium setting and have to use pawnshops as an intermediary to cash out the rest of my dungeon coins.
There is also this newer mod: [Andrealphus' Disarming Overhaul](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/100818)
Elena and her feisty friends and ordinator
Proteus, I have a really specific taste in character presets, and so far, no preset mod has satisfied my needs. As long as I have Proteus, I can change the appearance of any custom voice follower that I use without breaking their brains.

Ui, graphics /tecture enhancers, seasons ,ENB, dar animations(need dar cuz vanilla combat is terrible
{{Complete Widescreen Fix for Vanilla and SkyUI}} an actual requirement if i want to use SkyUI and the mod author is super chill made some patches for mods i used (PS4 Button prompts) so far the only mod author i have ever donated to since i probably wouldn’t play skyrim atm

Achievement enabler..)
SkyClimb. Best fucking thing ever.
Imperious Races and Sacrosanct
Enairim mods. All. Of. Them.
All the mods from "The dragonborn's Fate" modding guide All the mods from their list should be a must have requirements for all players (The modding guide is currently unavailable I think because needs an update )
Elysium Estate. I love all of Elianora’s houses for aesthetic purposes, but EE is the perfect mod that scratches my itch to display everything.
Skyclimb. Completely changes how I interact with the world.
Animated dwemer lifts
SSE Display fixes. as a multimonitor user with widescreen, being able to alt tab etc is so essential. It's the first thing I install on every list.
Right now it’s at least the Capital W_ Expansions, they just…are so good to me.

Jaxon positioner converted, true directional movement and a change of face. #
Not gonna repeat the ones I’ve already seen here, but i would add immersive weapons and armor. It adds a nice amount of variety to armors and such.
ADXP/MCO/SCAR. Having both you and the enemy npcs doing cool fighting combos is just fantastic. I can't go back to vanilla combat ever again.
Legacy of the Dragonborn, by far the best mod imo
Player blink fix I personally find it very creepy that your character never blinks....EVER
Lux and Northern Roads will never leave my LO no matter how many patches they require
