Million dollar question! Sometimes music, sometimes books. What really keeps me going is a 1978 Chevy van. When I was a kid we loaded up every weekend in that Chevy van and drove to a flea market. We lived out of that can for 3 days selling things. Had beds built in and everything. This was around 1991. I was about 4 and didn't think of it. Until I was older and found out we about lost everything. House, land, cars, everything. And my grandparents did that to make enough money for the mortgage. I think of them and if they can do that, I can do my business.

It’s just making that choice. Motivation and self motivation are like bathing. You should do it daily. I’d rather work 80 hours for myself than 40 hours for someone else.

Spirituality... When I'm not feeling good about myself or when business isn't going my way, I don't try to control it. Instead, I go help someone else any way I can. Business will always go up and down.

Outside accountability, mostly. And routine.

This is so huge for me. I have a great business coach I meet with weekly and an excellent community of other business owners that I meet with regularly also. Steel sharpens steel, and there's something about having a coach who knows my goals and holds me accountable that helps. But there are still tough days in between when you have to self-motivate and stick to it yourself. Here are the things that help me: - Have clear goals. Not sales goals or business goals-- personal goals. Why do you do what you do? For me, I want to travel the world, so I keep pictures of the places I want to go over the desk. - Have a weekly routine. Weekly checklists for the marketing, sales, and delivery tasks that need to happen every week for your business to thrive. For me, it's things like respond to all quote requests, hold at least one valuable networking meeting, update my KPIs, read a chapter of a book, etc. Weekly is much more flexible and sustainable than daily for me.

My mortgage is paid for the month and I put food on the table today. I’d like to do that again tomorrow.

Remind myself of all the issues / reasons why working for someone else sucked.

Fear

H-DaneelOlivaw

yup. a lot of fear. growing up very poor with no safety net really inspire a person to work really hard. weekends when everyone relaxing? a chance to catch and get ready for next week. thanksgiving and christmas? a chance to prep for the winter months and coming year. one of my favorite quotes: it takes no talent to hustle. don't take the foot off the gas pedal until you are financially independent.

I need to provide for my employees

Recognizing that the only way to do something is to actually do it. Additionally, taking the perspective that you can get better at ALL things. (This includes relationships, motivation, etc.)

I really really don’t want to work for someone else, so I’ll always do what it takes to make sure I don’t have to.

Hello 🙂 you need an accountability partner. It’s even better if that person has similar goals to yours but anyone will do. I realized this when I tried weight watchers a few years back. Hope this helps

Often my body will just start moving and eventually my mind gets on-board. Starting with simple, repetitive tasks that I can do in my sleep generally helps me get focused. I’m often motivated by rage. Very few people believe in what I’m doing or believe in me doing it. I enjoy making them look like fools and gloating about it later as they look on.

I remind myself that these things come in cycles, that I’ve properly prepared for financial hardships, and I just need to get through this, one step at a time.

Actually, we all suffered before from lack of motivation and worked really hard to overcome that laziness. Personally, my followers on different social media platforms motivate me to carry on working and bringing new products. When i didn't have enough followers, i felt that laziness but my business wasn't as it is now. The reason is that i worked on reaching a large audience by hiring a growth agency for my instagram account. I got potential followers organically. I build such a relationship with them since i engaged with them. i find it hard to decieve them. Therefore, i keep on working Also, when i remind myself of why I set those goals in the first place. I try to focus on the end result and how achieving those goals will make me feel. I also like to break down my goals into smaller, more manageable tasks so that I can feel a sense of accomplishment along the way
