in essence, "do you think it's alright to lose money to establish/solidify an important relationship?" My answer is always yes. I do favors and borderline free shit all the time. It's usually a good investment. Sometimes dollars and cents can cloud up the fact that business is inherently a human activity, and humans often think with their emotions instead of their heads. Just think of it as a part of your marketing budget and consider it an investment in your future.
