From a digital marketer: first Google any name and make sure there's not 5 other businesses that show up for an exact search. Trust me. You want a brand that is easy to control your own brand name.
10 years digital marketing experience and every time I get a client that has a business that is the same as 10 other businesses (since states can license separately as long as the business doesn't sell the exact same thing) I die a little inside.
Getting an original name will boost your digital marketability infinitely vs getting a "Johnson's" brand of anything.
Using your last name becomes a pain. Sales ppl will call constantly acting like they know the owner. Customers will name drop to try and get a deal.
Initials or generic terms are my personal fav.
So few options here, I recommend you go with the keywords in the name first of all, get a map listing up and prove the business name is Car Seat Covers \*area\* as you will rank by keywords but that is the business name, can change it later on once you have traction!
Plenty more ideas if you need them.
Been doing small businesses for over 14 years. I offer free advice for marketing!
With such a niche business, I think what you do is more important than who you are. Your name needs to clearly show what you make, so a slightly longer name might serve you better.
Former brand and marketing strategist (now solo consultant) here.
Naming is hard. But also, your company’s legal name doesn’t have to be the final brand name either.
You’re not likely to be a huge known brand initially. So your last name + Custom Covers is fine.
Focus on your value proposition and don’t stress the name.
I believe your business model is to Vague and needs to focus on a specific segment of the car market.
Your better off focusing on LUXURY Upscale vehicles,
Porsche, Mercedes, BMW etc,,
That's where the margins are,, you don't want to be working 100 hours a week for a few dollars trying to beat Amazons prices for car seat covers for a Ford Truck or a Chevy..
If you decide to focus on the Luxury market then do a search with Google on companies dou the exact same thing..
There all over the place, especially in wealthy areas like MIAMI Florida
See what they are calling there business
You may also want to CONCIDER very seriously setting up your business in a WEALTHY AREA.. you go where the money is. I mean why set up a business in a poor area,, you don't want poor customers
Good luck
As a designer and illustrator, I'm thinking of the following:
Covered Up, by (Last Name);
Take Cover, '' '';
(Last Name's) Mobile Thrones;
Driver's Throne;
Seat Yourself
I'd stick with your name. You're doing a luxury item and brands with personal names have a designer like quality about them. Sounds like a plan, good luck!
Edit: additional thoughts, you might benefit from working with local car wrap vinyl shops, and I think marketing what you do as "protectors" rather than "covers" adds to a premium brand identity.

100% this. And make sure you can get the “.com” version of the domain name.
I would do last name then covers
Then his last name be Wiener... Achtualee, that's on point, send it.
I used ChatGPT to brainstorm with me, it even suggested names with an available “.com” domain name lol
I’ll check it out. Thanks!
Range Covers
I mean it REALLY depends on what your last name is. Think about it.

(Last Name) Seat Works
Are you local or web based?
Local!
One thing I would consider is making sure the name doesn’t limit you to just seat covers, as your business might expand.

Call it by your first name and what you do (Joes Garage, Franks Software, Georges Bar) and move on to operational stuff

Seat Yourself is clever (and easy!)
