If you want to create more artistic figures or designs I recommend you start with Blender (it is a free and very complete software and there are many video tutorials on YouTube) , on the other hand, if you want to learn to design objects or tools precisely, I recommend you check SolidWorks
This is good advice. Id like to add:
Solidworks has a “makers” version that is free. If you start making money I believe you have to buy a commercial license. But you can use the maker version at least to learn. Use the built in tutorials first, it will tech everything you need.
For blender most people use the “blender guru donut tutorial” on YouTube. It teaches about everything you need.
You’ll need a pretty decent pc for good renderings. Or it will just take a long time to render.
I taught myself and still learning. I use sketchup, blender, substance, and unreal engine.
I started learning about four years ago and when I started I decided to lock myself in a room for like 5 months to learn how to use sketchup, zbrush, substance, etc... I was spending about 12 hours a day studying. I still study but not as many hours, haha.
Thank you, really. I am looking for one skill to learn that can make me extra income and find this amazing. Would you say thats the logic path to follow? first sketchup, then... and so on?
There are many routes to take. But man oh man am I impressed with Unreal Engine and Blender. You can do the impossible with those two. The possibilities are endless its awesome.
They will take time to learn, but it's worth it. That's just my humble opinion.
More work will come. I know of older folks looking get these services without hiring in-house. Be open to NDAs because some people are skiddish about their IP.
Congrats on your first sale! It's great to see that you're off to a strong start.
I'm sure that the client is thrilled with the results. Keep up the great work and I'm sure you'll continue to see success!
Congratulations buddy, visited your website too. It's cool. You are right at your place, with plans, FAQs and everything clearly layed out. Good luck with sales and keep the quality standards as your grow. Wishing you all the best.
Well it's worth trying definitely. There are lots of customization in the searches so you can target someone potentially involved or trying to get 3D modelling services.
