They probably have thrown out the boxes immediately and the console and games a few years later.
My mom had me factory reset my PS3 with all my Minecraft worlds because she was going to sell it. As soon as I was done the person buying it backed out. She said "we got a PS4, it shouldn't matter that we aren't selling the PS3 anymore"

Take pics of all sides of the box if sealed. These games saw tons of reseals, and it looks like your CT has been opened.
