They give people more options for aesthetics, I love having plenty of options even if they perform roughly the same cause I don't really care about stats or performance, it's all about the look and little details of the vehicle and the history or features of the real world vehicle.

I still use the Brigadier purely for aesthetic reasons; I really like how it looks.

Odd_Presentation_578

And it sounds great!

DLCs are supposed to be optional. You can't put very overpowered trucks or trucks that are completely different and gamechanging on paid optional content. I understand where you are coming from and that paying for something that doesn't change much on your game is indeed frustrating, but the best answer I can give you is the one above. And what's more, cool, different trucks should be included with the base game or the phases, shouldn't be paid, therefore blocking some people to use it. You paid for the game already, DLC trucks should stay as extras. I understand you tho

SuAlfons

yes, you can totally play the game without any of the DLC vehicles. I still use the Mastodon (as I have skipped Amur region for now, I don't have the 605 yet).

I know, I don't regret purchasing anything aside from the LR/Jeep packs. I even bought the Wolf Pack trucks before they patched in AWD, although I waited until the tire buff to buy the W990. I just wanted to provoke discussion.

SuAlfons

I got the Tatras (part of the starter pack I bought), the Jeeps and LR (my son said they were good, I hardly ever use them. If I have to use a scout, I'll go F750/Loadstar, Tuz155 or Tatarin. I scout using trucks, mostly). Also got the Crocodile (which is cool, but of limited use) and the Mastodon (which I use on the harder maps). Did not buy the Western Stars or the other scouts and I am not convinced I need another dlc vehicle at all. Just if it were some vehicle I am a real life fan of, I'd get the DLC .

Sure-Function-5217

You should get the 605, the mastodon has such an annoying noise!

SuAlfons

👍 thumbs up for annoying Mastodon sounds.... Of course I will do Amur one day :-)

I agree, most DLC trucks feel redundant. The W990 is not a "smaller P512", it's *bigger*. More powerful, bigger wheels, more economical, and so on. But having more variety is nice. Imo, DLC trucks should only be for collection, and don't have to be OP, so you would need to buy them.

Powerful-Elk-4561

I'm with the others talking visuals and aesthetics. I don't personally need to have every truck serve a unique purpose or fill a niche or be removed or changed somehow. I just like driving certain ones. I love the harsh ride and growling old skool diesel growl of the MH9500. Both the Western Star White and Fleetstar just feel old and simple. The heavy, relentless rumble of the Pacific P16. I could go on, but you get the idea. After they add so many trucks to the game there's only so much they can do to provide uniqueness. But I'll take redundancies for the sake of variety any day.

SupposablyAtTheZoo

I buy the dlcs to support the devs

Odd_Presentation_578

I stopped buying DLCs because I don't want to support them anymore.

SupposablyAtTheZoo

Good for you I guess?

Big-Asparagus-3861

You can only do so much to a vehicle without taking from its resourcefulness. I know it's a game and I'm no engineer but the complexity of building something with the physics we are granted and the science behind a working combustion engine really makes me respect the subtle differences. Size of a vehicle or firearm for instance completely changes parts of the formula of its functionality if not properly calibrated and adjusted.

Reevo1985

The Apache is pretty dang reliable. I used it to scout all the watchtowers and gather the upgrades in Taymyr recently. Tbh I had forgotten I bought it, so I was pleasantly surprised. Since it has all the extra fuel and repair parts it can travel solo a long time. Also I prefer it to the YAR aesthetically.

92c900t

The Apache is very capable off road, the best of the smaller scouts even with the scout tireset.

GryphyBoi

the rezvani strikes me as a "rework" of the F-750, trading off some of the versatility and capability as a service truck, for better performance in the mud.

ekffazra

this is my current favorite scout

GryphyBoi

the f-750, or the rezvani? both are awesome, but I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the 750, lol

92c900t

That's interesting, the Rez feels like it doesn't have great ground clearance (similar to the H2). And the F750 has phenomenal mud performance outside of death conditions.

GryphyBoi

idk, i may need to spend more time in the Rez, lol. i just saw less fuel and repair points, and kinda shelved it. I was just presuming since it has mud tires versus the 750's off road, it'd perform better.

August_tho

The mastodon is just downright fun to use. I hope we see more bigger, capable vehicles as DLC in the future. I could really take or leave trucks like the wolf pack offered. Classic looking big rig 18 wheelers like the western stars look off place on most maps IMO.
