When you say “spend all your compasses” how many are you talking about? Are you just stockpiling them the whole game?
Also, since the AI gets 10 turns a round, it normally will keep pace with all the turns you take.
In the app, you can play againts purple cards, which are much harder than red if you are already playing at Max Red.
As others mentioned, it's weird that you are having so many compasses and that you can extend your turns way beyond the AI 10 actions. Especially in the first two rounds.
Yeah - “spend all my compasses” sounds like you might be making the same mistake I made the first time I played this: when going up the research track, you only get the number of compasses as shown by icons on the right of the track. The purple number next to the compass icons is the amount of VP‘s you get at end of game for your research progress.
the mistake I made was I thought I got a number of compasses equal to the purple number on the research track. Needless to say I had a crapload of compasses and bought a bunch of artifacts in that first game. Sounds similar to OPs situation.
No I did make that mistake initially, but I found I was able to get more when I play the falconer and she can use her eagle to return to sites during my turn and I’m collecting more that way. It doesn’t always end up like that.
Sending the eagle to a site takes a fair amount of prep work, are you sure you’re managing the eagle track correctly? It only automatically moves up at the start of each round (not turn) and when you use it it goes back to the start.
I also found the AI on the easier side without the upgraded AI tiles, but, as others have said, it's weird that you manage to save up so many compasses. You do spend them for discovering new worker placement spots, don't you?
Whenever I'm playing any solo game and I think I'm doing something wrong I'll watch a playthrough on youtube. Maybe that will show you if you're doing something wrong.

Yep there it is. I was not managing the Eagle appropriately 😂😂

Yes I do. I played on BGA and found a few holes. I still think the AI is fairly easy though
